[OPEN] Sandstorm Event + September Introduction Log
Given that the last time there was a sandstorm BREW had just...unceremoniously dumped the new arrivals outside to face the elements, Shibusen decided it would be prudent to send some people out to make sure the poor souls aren't left to flounder.
Outfitting their volunteers with the proper gear, they're allowed back into Death City not only to search for new arrivals but also to check for stragglers.
However, as the volunteers go through the city, they find more than just the expected stragglers and new arrivals. For some reason, there is the occasional Kishin Egg wandering around...
To make things worse, the sandstorm continues to rage, causing poor visibility and covering the streets with a thick layer of sand, making it hard to keep footing. A problem these Kishin Eggs don't seem to have when most of them are capable of diving under the sand to move like sharks.

It's really not much farther, and I'm not tired.
[He's sidling along a building again, but it's difficult with such deep sand piled up against the building. It's like walking through really deep snow.]
no subject
[this would be super easy if he had some kind of radar power. that way they could take different routes to avoid running into anything. he does take the reassuring squeeze to heart though. he trusts takuto will make the right decision should things go awry.]
no subject
... he steps on something. And the something moves.
He stumbles back against the wall as the sand humps up in front of him, drawing a circle as a tan-colored fin protrudes. Abruptly the fin turns towards him and speeds up.]
Kishin egg!!
no subject
[but that would be the cherry on the top for this place.]
no subject
He holds Sugata out in front like a warning to the Kishin egg as it flops back under the deep sand with only its fin giving Takuto any clue to its location. He tries to focus, believing in himself and Sugata. It's just one Kishin egg, and even though it appears to have the advantage in the current terrain, Takuto and Sugata had the advantage of being too stubborn to lose.]
Ready, Sugata? [He'll be using the full force of his wavelength in this battle to make sure his resonance with Sugata stays perfect. What he wants to do is what he has to do, after all.]
no subject
Of course.

The Kishin egg comes towards them, its fin like a knife through the sand, but this time it doesn't leap, preferring to stay better hidden under the sand... and making it impossible for Takuto to much other than dodge. He can't get a clear shot with Sugata's blade not being particularly long.
He sidesteps the Kishin egg and then sidesteps again quickly. Too quickly. There are two Kishin eggs, both circling him. He turns to put his back to a wall as a third Kishin egg jumps from the rooftop and drives him into the open intersection. This isn't a particularly good situation to be in, but he's not going to let a few Kishin eggs bring him or Sugata down. They're star drivers and best friends and three... or four... Kishin eggs aren't going to stop them from protecting each other.
And suddenly, almost instinctively, Takuto starts grinning as he plants his feet in the center of the street.] When what you want to do is what you ought to do...
[The Kishin eggs come in closer, two of them snapping at each other like two wild dogs fighting over a scrap of meat. A fifth joins the group, heading towards Takuto and Sugata like a bloodhound.] Raise up your voice and shout!
APPRIVOISE! [He thrusts Sugata skyward.] SAMEKH!

either way, whatever it just seemingly clicks into place. his will and drive to protect his dearest friend and get them out of this sticky situation is enough for him to be able to activate his weapon ability. and with that a protective blue pillar of energy surrounds the pair. any of the kishin eggs that might have had their sights on them are tragically put to a stop as they're instantly demolished.]
no subject
That was amazing, Sugata!! [Of course, he gets sand in his mouth (again) when he says that, but this time it hardly even matters. He's actually--truly and literally--radiant again.]
no subject
and he'd never give this moment up. not for anything.]
Is... is discovering your powers supposed to feel like this?
no subject
Sugata feels light in his hand and their connection is strong and everything is pretty damn fabulous.]
no subject
Perhaps we should get a move on. It would be bad if we got surrounded.
no subject
There really are more Kishin eggs approaching, cautiously at first as if catching some interesting scent and then seeming to lock onto Takuto's position.]
Kid did say that my ability had something to do with attracting attention....
[That's all well and good to hear on the training field, but it's not at all helpful at the moment. It's dawning on him that he's just painted a giant target on himself, and worse, he doesn't know how to remove it.
He hesitates just for a fraction of a second. But no, it's time to run!
Dazzlingly.]no subject
no subject
The stupidest part is that even though he knows he and Sugata are in a pretty big pinch, he still feels so radiant, like he's just way too high on resonance and life to ever come back down. He practically wants to laugh because the whole situation is actually entirely ridiculous....]
no subject
Try not to get so worked up over this, Takuto. I know you can't help it right now.
no subject
[It's a lame comeback and maybe not entirely true, but he's also busy running away from Kishin eggs in a sandstorm. There! Finally he knows he's just a block away from Sugata's house.]
I hope you know where your key is! [He will throw you to the door if it means he doesn't have to slow down to enter the building. The Kishin eggs are actually much faster than he is.]
no subject
[he left it in his pocket, like anyone else would. but please to be not throwing your best friend at the door. that's not nice takuto :(]
But in order for me to get it, I'm going to have to get out of my weapon form.
no subject
[You know what they say about desperate times, Sugata. Desperate measures.
The Kishin eggs are closing in and chasing from behind, but Takuto catches sight of Sugata's door. His arm twists back as his legs keep pumping, he dodges a shark-like Kishin egg making a leaping attempt for his head, and then throws Sugata.
Not hard enough to damage the door or stick into it, but it's a pretty clear toss and Sugata bounces off the door and lands on the sandy doormat.]
HURRY!!
[With the sudden end to their resonance, Takuto's glow is already starting to fade. Too bad the Kishin eggs are already on his trail. He just hopes Sugata is fast with the key.]
no subject
It's a good thing I didn't decode to transform halfway through you tossing me. [but with that he digs into his pocket, pulls out the key, and thrusts it into the keyhole. once he's unlocked it, he pushes the door open slightly. he still doesn't want to get sand everywhere.]
Come on!
no subject
YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
[He's through the door in a flash, skidding to a halt and turning to help Sugata close it behind them. There's a few thuds as the Kishin eggs bounce off the door.]
no subject
You don't think they'll try to break the door down, do you?
no subject
I hope not!
[Excuse Takuto for giggling a little bit as he braces his back against the door. There's a few more half-hearted thuds as the Kishin eggs smack into the door, but at least the Kishin eggs aren't terribly big. They're probably safe.]
no subject
I'd rather not have to repay Nanami to fix the door if that does happen..... [so with that he joins takuto in barring the door down.]
