[OPEN] Sandstorm Event + September Introduction Log

Given that the last time there was a sandstorm BREW had just...unceremoniously dumped the new arrivals outside to face the elements, Shibusen decided it would be prudent to send some people out to make sure the poor souls aren't left to flounder.

Outfitting their volunteers with the proper gear, they're allowed back into Death City not only to search for new arrivals but also to check for stragglers.

However, as the volunteers go through the city, they find more than just the expected stragglers and new arrivals. For some reason, there is the occasional Kishin Egg wandering around...

To make things worse, the sandstorm continues to rage, causing poor visibility and covering the streets with a thick layer of sand, making it hard to keep footing. A problem these Kishin Eggs don't seem to have when most of them are capable of diving under the sand to move like sharks.

I'd rather not have to repay Nanami to fix the door if that does happen..... [so with that he joins takuto in barring the door down.]

[Fortunately Takuto's dazzle is diminishing rapidly which means the Kishin eggs are getting confused and some are wandering off instead of trying to push through the door with their blunt sharky noses, but the removal of the glow just leaves more room for laughter. This is actually one of the most ridiculous situations he's been in, which is saying something.]

It's a good thing you live in a sturdy house with a sturdy door, then. [His words are punctuated by a few halfhearted thunks from the door. And then he just starts laughing.]

It is! Because I'd rather not have to pay for a door. [he doesn't even know how much that'll cost weep]

[If the door broke, they could always blame it on the storm and maybe insurance or the landlord would cover it. But the door is indeed sturdy and the bumps of the Kishin eggs get less and less frequent.

Takuto gingerly leans forward a bit, still grinning like the idiot he pretty much is.]

I think we're safe.

[perhaps..... it sounds plausible! he leans against the door and gives a quiet sigh]

That's good.

[tauborn]

[There's a final thump, and muffled hiss, and then silence.

Takuto breaks the silence but slouching against Sugata in relief and giggling.]

I... I can't believe that actually just happened....

[peacocked]

I can't either. [he shakes his head.] But I'm glad it happened with you.

[tauborn]

[He blinks a little, and then grins.]

Your ability is amazing! It's just like your King's Pillar! [Except it's smaller, and this time Takuto's not getting hit by it, haha....

Though it's actually pretty comfortable leaning against Sugata so he's going to stay there for a while.]

[he could always find a way to direct it to you, if you want!!]

[He'd prefer it if Sugata didn't do that....

He grins.]

For the first time in a long time, yes. [He looks down at his chest, and tugs his collar down. There's nothing but the usual scar there, and it's not glowing anymore.]

[Takuto nods slowly.] Me, too.

[After a moment, he twists a little to look at Sugata from the corner of his eye.] We make a pretty good team.
