[OPEN] Bouncing Back
Characters: Open to the kidnapping victims, their visitors, and medics.
Location: Death City Clinic
Rating: Varies
Time: June 17th and 18th (if extra time is needed), all day
Description: After a return to Death City and resulting brief surgery to remove the amplification chips, patients are now under observation for the safety of themselves and others as they recover from the ordeal. Visit a friend!
It began with a sigh of relief when the chips were discovered late last night. Nurses and doctors moved briskly down the halls, sedating the maddened and prepping them for an easy surgery. One by one the foul chips are removed, contained for further analysis while their 'hosts' take their first real rest after a whirlwind day spent out alone with their own crazed minds.
By the morning of the 17th, the surgeons anesthesiologists are exhausted, wearily taking their time in the break rooms of the clinic to recover from a very long night of sedations and incisions, but after another examination, they were pleased to announce everyone was clean.
But the environment is tense. Most, if not all of those who were brought back had done unspeakable acts and are ordered to remain under observation just in case. Visiting hours arrives just after Morning Training lets out, allowing patients to see their friends and partners. But take note- each room is accompanied by a Shibusen agent keeping their eyes and ears open in case of trouble, but they won't disturb your visit or conversation so long as you keep things civil.
[ooc: Remember to tag yourselves in!]

[Not wanting to trouble the nice boy, she smiled back.]
Hey. Yuugi, right? It's been awhile since we've last talked.
no subject
[His smile brightened considerably, and he nodded once to show she'd gotten the name right.]
Yeah! [And then, a little more subdued--] I'm glad you're back okay. Do you need anything?
no subject
We caused quite the stir back here, didn't we? I hadn't realized how powerful the witches could be.
[Holiday was trying to drift the topic away from her before it even landed.]
no subject
They're strong... I guess BREW wouldn't have brought us here if they weren't.
[Despite the gravity of the words, his tone was neither heavy nor hopeless; no matter how powerful the witches might be he was sure that they could be defeated. After what they'd done, they certainly deserved it.]

[She was silent for a moment and then looked back to him.]
It'll be okay, though. We're many, strong, and smart. They don't stand a chance.
[Yet, she doesn't look all that hopeful and happy about winning the war. The loss is too great to her.]
Derp, sorry for the slow reply!
You're right. With all of us working together... [The words trailed away, not weakly, but because the firm tone of his voice finished the sentence for him.]
That's okay!
no subject
You're right!
[He stuffs his hands in his pockets and shifts his weight to one foot, and then the other, kind of like an indecisive kid.]
Anyway... You sure there's nothing I can get for you? I don't mind.
[What he really wants to say to her still seems too bold considering they are still more acquaintances than friends, and he doesn't want to step outside of his place. Neither does he want to overstay his welcome...]
no subject
I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I appreciate it, though.
no subject
If you're sure! [There's a short pause and then--] Anyway, I should probably get going. [He points his thumb over his shoulder.] I came here to visit a friend, so...
[Really he just doesn't want to be in her way any longer if there's nothing he can do.]
no subject
I understand. I hope their doing well.
no subject
Thanks! [He gives her another smile and almost turns to go but then hesitates, returning to face her but dropping his eyes to the side. When he speaks again he does so slowly, ponderous and careful.] You know... I'm afraid he'll be hard on himself after what happened. The madness, though--it can bring out the worst parts of a person, but that's not who they really are...
[He scratches the back of his head and flounders for words for a second before grabbing on to a few more that say more or less what he wants.] I just hope he knows that, too.
no subject
I think he knows... If he doesn't, just make sure you tell him.
no subject
I will!
[And this time he really is going to leave as he turns away, but not without one last question.]
Hey... do you like games? [Might be kind of a long shot since she's such a professional, but...] I have a few at my place; if you want I can bring them over later. It'll make the time pass quicker.
no subject
I guess so. I haven't just sat down and played a game in years.
I wouldn't mind you coming back over if you wouldn't. [The distraction was more than welcome and she was glad for the offer.]
So shall we handwave at least one game of chess or something between these two? XD
That'll work with me XD
[She waves at him, smiling. Oddly enough, she would find that she was eager for him to come back.]
