Description: Welcome to Death City!



BREW's at it again. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 5th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.

Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 6th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.

The sun is laughing high in the sky as temperatures soar to 110 degrees F. The air wobbles in the distance, and many citizens are drinking plenty of iced tea and lemonade to cool down. One group of children has popped open a fire hydrant and are playing in the spraying water before the police arrive to give them trouble.

No doubt the new arrivals are confused... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we? But not too warm- stay hydrated and cool, everyone!

And new guys? Welcome to the desert.

Those just arriving would appear out of thin air, winding up in a rather creepy chamber, where they bear witness to an unusual video. Maybe what you're hearing makes a whole lot of sense... or maybe nothing makes sense any more.

Fortunately, it appears you didn't wind up here alone.

[ Sure, the video explains some stuff, but.. seriously, most of it is still a mystery to Josuke. He thought he was just done with this stuff back home, seriously, is it one thing after another for him? And now even people like Okayasu and Koichi or even Jotaro aren't here.. this time he'll have to do it by himself. Even if he still doesn't know what to think.

In the end he just rubs the back of his head, sighing a little and muttering to himself. ]

What the hell's up with losing powers like that if we're supposed to fight.. [ He can fight perfectly fine with his Stand, why does he need to be some Weapon or Meister?! ]

[motherofthesun]

[Sitting some distance away and very close to a door, the one who will answer his other questions. A sign reading 'Welcome to Death City! Will answer any questions!' is shifted with a paw before the glowing white... wolf pants. Her tail is wagging, briefly pausing when she yawns and shakes out her fur a bit.]

[Seeing the new arrivals always has her excited and waking up earlier than usual. She should really have a nap after this.]

[ It takes a moment for him to even notice the wolf. It's only thanks to the yawn that his head turns in Amaterasu's direction, and.. then he just stares. Especially since he sees the sign. Otherwise he might have thought it was just one of this place's (somewhat strange) dogs, but.. this animal is supposed to answer questions?! What kind of weird set up is that?! Just giving a wolf pants doesn't make them human!

He's not particularly planning on asking anything since he doesn't see how he could have a conversation with her, but even so, he does walk over.. not like he dislikes animals, after all. So he grins and reaches out to pat her on the head. ]

Heh, who's a good boy? Or.. uh.. well, girl, I guess.

[No, pants don't make her human, but sitting on them is quite comfortable. Her tongue licks her lips and she stops panting, ears shooting up when Josuke approaches.]

[Her tail thumps on the ground excitedly and while her paws shift, she keeps on the ground. There's a pleased whine in response to the pets and she licks his hand when he says girl. That would be correct.]

Oh!

[ He looks pleasantly surprised at the reaction, chuckling to himself. What happened to being troubled just now, Josuke, are you this easily distracted.. ]

You really are a good girl! Hehehe.. [ He pats her a few more times before pulling back his hand. ]

Why did they leave you here though to answer questions? It's not like you can, right? [ But she just understood what he said before.. ] Uh.. well, I don't mean it in a bad way, you know! [ YOU DON'T HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO ANIMALS. Normally, at least. ] But it's just.. you can't talk and shit. Makes it hard.

[She grins, but it leaves as he pulls away and she stares quietly.]

[Yes, yes, that whole question comes up. While he bumbles over his words and mentions how she can't talk, her nose buries in her fur, pressing until, finally, her fangs pull out what she was looking for. Her communicator with a pre-set message.]

I can write.

[unbreakably]

WOAH..!

[ He was squatting down to be on a more even level, but when he sees the communicator with the message on it he just promptly falls backwards so he lands on his butt on the ground, his eyes wide as he just stares. ]

Y-.. you can write?! But you're.. w-what, is that some sort of Stand?!

[motherofthesun]

[She's seen a number of reactions by now, this his must be the funniest. Chuckling, she takes the communicator and sets it down, fangs gripping the stylus and pulling it out. She uses her paw to make the other message erase before writing again and showing him]

No. Just using the stylus.

[unbreakably]

[ He's still pretty shocked.. he won't get over it this easily. An animal wearing pants, sure, he can live with that, but one writing?! That's just crossing the line into weird. Especially since she can understand him. ]

.. And you.. get what I'm saying. [ He points to himself. OF COURSE SHE GETS IT JOSUKE HOW ELSE WOULD SHE BE COMMUNICATING LIKE THIS. ] Right?

[She would give him a blanker stare if possible, but just rolls her eyes and nods. Yes, she understands you. Pretty sure that had been clear earlier... Oh well.]

[ Just give him a moment to catch up with everything. He'll be better once he does, really. ]

Man, I don't know what kinda place I've been dragged in, but this stuff is freaky as hell.. [ Rubbing the back of his head again. ] How come you can talk then? Can all animals do that here?

[motherofthesun]

[She glances around, her head tilted slightly. Was the decor frightening? It wasn't that bad once you got use to it... though, he might not literally mean that.]

[Amaterasu shakes her head. She hasn't seen any other animal writing besides humans.]

[ Waking up in a foreign room, surrounded by foreign people, subjected to a foreign message, and left with a foreign mission certainly made Kanaya feel one thing: Unsurprised. This didn't seem to be yet another trick of the game she'd been subjected to for over a sweep, though it seemed particularly obvious that unless this task was finished? She wasn't going home. ]

[ So after slowly rising to her feet and offering her hand to any who happened to need the assistance, she takes a moment to look around, taking in the surroundings... and to idly look over the communicator she'd been given. ]

[ She likely wouldn't stay here long, they'd said what they expected of her, so she was going to do just that. First up: Information gathering. If only there was a well-written GameFAQs guide, though... ]

[[As always, Bakura scans the crowd for familiar faces, though the one he spots makes him pause. Wait... wasn't that...?

No, while similar to Psii's friend, this troll was distinctly different. Younger looking. But still obviously related and similarly symboled. With a warm smile, he approached]]

[ ...boy, you have white hair. I mean, Rose and Dave have blonde hair, but Bakura's is white and that takes her a moment to take in before she speaks. Today was certainly a day of seeing a lot of unique new individuals. ]

I... hm. [ She'd started to respond without actually thinking of a specific question. ] I do not suppose you know the specifics of our transportation and arrival here? Beyond the explanation of "demonic abilities", that is.

I sort of do. We were called her by BREW to help fight against the Witches and Kishin who are threatening to destroy this world. Past that, no one's really sure how BREW does it or what it uses to chose people or how to get it to send anybody back.

[lumigenitor]

So we are here because there is a need for us to be here, and it is as simple as that. Interesting.

[shiromadoushi]

[[A nod]] Un, basically that! Everyone it brings has the ability to be either a Weapon or Meister so that they can fight.

[lumigenitor]

I assume that I will be informed as to which of those two I am before the day is out, then?

[shiromadoushi]

[[Another nod]] At the end of the tour, before they show you where your room is, they have machines that can tell. It's all pretty well organized, after so many times of people showing up!

[lumigenitor]

[ A nod in response. ] So we are far from the first group to arrive. Is the war we are here to fight any closer to being won than when you arrived?

It's hard to tell.. sometimes it feels like it is, but...

[[he trails off with a small shake of his head]] I think things have gotten better, even if others don't agree.

[lumigenitor]

I see. Then, given that we have been brought here, I believe it would be foolish of myself and other new arrivals to sit idly by and do nothing at all. [ A little nod. ] Thank you, for dealing with my questions.

Agrias was roused from what would have no doubt been certain death. In fact, her sudden presence and appearance here was so abrupt that the former Guard Captain was almost certain that she was a part of a lucavi trap or some kind. Which was not to say that she did not believe the man inside the box...

Mostly, she was just on edge.

As she began to filing out, she glanced around the room to look to defend herself. Her hand was set on the hilt of her sword in anticipation of anything.
