[CLOSED] Careful and steady
Characters: Karina Lyle and Kaede Kaburagi
Location: Starting at Fatality Condominiums and moving on to the rest of the city.
Rating: G for Girly Fun!
Time: May 31, after lunch
Description: Kotetsu told Karina to look after Kaede during the riots. Although that has already passed, that doesn't mean Karina can't try to spend more quality time with her.
[In the midst of all the rebuilding and everyone tending to their injuries and the like, a little spot of sunshine wouldn't hurt. And today, Karina decided to take a break from helping out at the clinic to spend time with Kaede. Sure, she supposed that she wouldn't be so lonely with so many pets to take care of, but all the same, she thought that it would be nice to get to see her again.
With how hot it was outside and the expectation that she might be helping Kaede with some dog walking, Karina's dressed to keep cool, with her hair up in a high ponytail. But even that won't save her from the fact that she really hated hot weather. Even so, that didn't deter her from her visit.
It only took a quick walk to get from Casualty Communal to Fatality Condominiums. Once there, Karina stepped up to the Kaburagis' door and rang the bell.]

With the door pushed open and her hands behind her back, she answers with cheer. "Hi Karina! Um, if you're looking for dad he's not here right now."

"A-ah..." Karina had to bite back the urge to ask why Kaede thought she wanted to see Kotetsu. With a sheepish laugh, she shook off the urge, although the blush was still fierce on the apples of her cheeks.
"Actually, I came by to check on you and maybe hang out with you, if you aren't busy. The heat around here is getting really bad, so I thought of dropping by Death Robbins for some ice cream."

But her expression brightens at Karina's offer. That was just what she needed after all the chaos is to hang out with somebody she looked up to. "Yes-! I mean I would love to, it's so boring being cooped in here by myself."

Thoughts on Kotetsu aside, she peered into the apartment.
"Maybe we can take some of your pets with us, too. Need some time to get ready to go?"
She helped Kaede take care of them during the riots at the Watch Headquarters, so she was familiar with all the animals in the Kaburagi residence-- including the two big dogs that belonged to a neighbor of theirs who went on a mission.

She disappears into their abode to find said animal, leaving Karina to her own devices in the meantime.

And when Kaede disappears into the apartment, Karina decides to step in. She's been inside before, but the previous visit was really just to return Kaede and her pets to the place after the riots were quelled and it was safe to do so. Since she had to go off to the clinic right after that, she couldn't stay at all.
Now that she was left to her own devices, she decides to peer around a bit while waiting for the younger girl.

Coming back from where she left Karina, she has the one dog on a leash and goes over to secure Loafdog's leash. "Walking these two can be a real handful.

Karina beams at Kaede before moving to carry the small pug. True enough, in anyone's arms, the animal very much looked like a loaf of bread. Meanwhile, the bigger dogs seemed pretty excited about a walk. Their tails were already wagging enthusiastically.
"Alright, shall we go then?"
no subject
She lends Karina the loafdog over. "He's always kinda grouchy, just so you know and sure." She replies, opening back up the entrance so the dogs can scamper out.

Karina sighed a bit wistfully as she watched Kaede open the entrance. But as soon as she saw the dogs begin to run, she immediately darted after Kaede, worried that the dogs might be too powerful for her.
"Careful!"
no subject
As soon as the dogs ran out she dug in her heels, keeping the dogs at bay but just barely. "I got it!"

Once the dogs were all under control and the door was locked behind them, Karina began to walk with Kaede out of the apartment and to the streets. Next stop: Death Robbins!
"So, how has life been here in Death City so far? I heard from your dad that you've been here a while," she giggled a little, remembering Kotetsu barely holding back his enthusiasm about Kaede. "He said you were already really serious about training."

"I want to help out so I can get home." Something she's been dying for months now.

"I can sympathize. I've been missing my parents, really. Even though I don't really enjoy mom's nagging or dad always being so silent, it's really different being without them for a while."
She ran her hand through Loafdog's fur for a bit, finding some comfort in the softness of his wrinkly skin.
"I'm glad you and your dad are here, though. It takes away some of the sadness. As for Barnaby... I'm really sure your dad would find a way to set him back to normal. He said he would. And I believe him."
no subject
"Yeah, but don't you like being not told what to do?"
She watched the dogs go over to sniff at various things on the side of the road. "I think so, but Dad tells me it doesn't work like before."
no subject
She paused for a moment before continuing on.
"Anyway, I'm still sure that your dad will think of something. Who knows, maybe there'd be someone around here with a power like Maverick's... but I'm not even sure how these Meister powers work yet."
no subject
But now to a subject change. "Have you found a partner yet?"
no subject
Anyway, moving on to the next topic...
"No. I've only been here for just a few days. I haven't even gotten to really see what Meisters and Weapons do in action. What about you, Kaede?"
ugh sorry about the lateness
Maybe they could practice together, even with Kaede's mind drifting away to other priorities.
It's no problem at all!
The sun, however, was being quite relentless with its heat. And Karina felt a little uncomfortable hearing it bellow over their heads. If they were to try practicing together, maybe they could pick up some ice cream first.

"You're a meister, so I can show you a few things I know."
no subject
"I'll treat you out today."
no subject
Kaede nodded, almost expecting that since her expenses were always covered for. She went over to eye the sweet colored frozen treats, selecting the rocky road mix in a cone.

She ordered both Kaede's ice cream, and got something for herself: a light raspberry sorbet in a cup.
"If I get a chance to work as a singer here again, maybe I'll get to treat you to something bigger," Karina laughed as she handed Kaede's cone over to her before taking her own cup and leading the younger girl and the dogs to a booth by the window. "Maybe a dress or a nice pair of shoes for going around the city."
no subject
"Maybe you could ask one of the who runs the festivals and stuff?"

Karina leans back against her seat now, eating a little more of her ice cream before continuing.
"Have you ever considered becoming a hero, Kaede?"
