Morning Training Log!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 27th.

He could feel it now, a warmth and power building in his chest. It was easy to visualize who he wanted to protect and why. It was the same reason he rushed to their defense at home.

He rested his head on the back of his palms, trying to hold himself as tightly together as possible.

Bakura watched, trying to judge how well it was going. "Don't be afraid of it. Grab on and let it wash over you..." he coached. If it were going to work, it would be now... else they'd try something different. But he hoped this would work. It was the easiest way to do it.

...that didn't involve stairs.

He had been nervous about it. What if he got stuck? What if he only made it half way?

It didn't matter.

He had to try.

The sooner he did this, the sooner he could help win the war and the sooner he could get home.

He stopped trying to contain the fiery ball of energy in his chest and let it loose.


The EVO glows with white light. In a flash, instead of the lupine, before Bakura is a Spartan Sword with a white fur lined hilt.


"What just happened? Did it work?"

Believe me when I tell you that I was or you wouldn't be standing here with all your limbs still in place.

[No robbing will happen today because he's playing a different game at the moment. Bakura gives the cones a look, then looks at Bumblebee's face that displays a notable lack of any visible teeth or tongue that could be used to eat them (or a real mouth to begin with).]

How are you going to eat those?

"Un, it did!" Bakura nodded. "It's a sword, a neat looking one, with fur on the hilt!"

He reached for his mirror to take a photo. Some people could tell what their form was from the inside, others, not so easily. And it was far better to see it than to just be told.

"How does it feel?"

[Di had come around to listen in on the lesson. She knew some basic first aid, but nothing beyond the rudimentary level and it never hurt to learn something new. She's been listen the entire time, taking notes and making quick sketches till the end of Rosalia's lesson.]

[Hey, he never claimed anything about wanting a steady partner or a weapon to chop things up with in general!

Bakura sets the dice down and looks up at him.]

What guarantees me that I can trust you? [Despite his words he smiles.]

You sure it's okay? I seem to remember you being hospitalized last time we spoke.

Well, good. It would feel wrong if he did not have fur somewhere.

A sword, good. He was comfortable with close combat in action. It was what he knew.

It felt...different.

Not bad.


"Hrrrrrn. Different."

The same that guarantees that I can trust you. [[returns with a smile of his own]]

"It's going to, at first, until you get used to it. The more you practice, the easier and faster transforming can get, and the more familiar the form will be," Bakura assured. "If you can remember that feeling, it helps a lot."

And the swifter you could call that feeling and wrap yourself in it the more of an instinct it became.

[His expression widens into a smirk.]

So nothing. [He collects the dice except two and offers one to Ryou while he keeps the other for himself.] Shall we gamble about it?

[She smiles and nods]

You're welcome. Do you have any other questions?

Sure.

[[accepts, holding the die between his fingers]] Name the rules.

[He chuckles at his hit.]

Alright then. I don't know what your weapon form is, but we can give it a try.

[Di was making her rounds when she spotted Karkat near the sparring group. She had yet to get an opportunity to see him in person, so she made her way over. She raised a hand in greeting to get his attention as she approached.]

Hello, Karkat. How have you been settling in?

"How do you change back?"

He did not mind this form...for now. That did not mean he wanted to stay this way forever.

[shiromadoushi]

"Just relax and let go of it." It wasn't the best explanation, but it was the only real way he had to put it. "If it helps, pretend like you're going to sleep."

I'll keep them simple. A critical is yes, a fumble is no. Understood?
