Mello was also sure L would never pay Bakura back; it wouldn't even occur to him that he needed to. He didn't voice this opinion. He wouldn't have been able to keep the bitterness from his voice, and even though Bakura could probably be considered part of the Wammy's family by now, Mello still felt that some things were between just them, and ought to stay that way.

The Voice was unconscious, and given how banged up he was, seemed likely to stay that way. Mello recognized one of his Watch people in the other bed, the girl who'd tried so hard not to stare at his scars.
