[OPEN] April 2013 Introduction Log
Characters: Volunteers, Newcomers and OPEN for mingling!
Location: All Around Death City
Rating: Varies
Time: May 19th, All Day
Description: Welcome to Death City.
BREW doesn't think about kidnappings, activists or the hot, dry weather that hangs over the desert city this week. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 18th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.
Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 19th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.
Regardless, it's looking a little more like old times... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we?
[ooc: Newcomers! Simply tag in to any or all of the sections here and volunteers will pop right up to greet you ASAP! The last section is completely OPEN for newcomers, volunteers, or Guests all ready in Death City who want to come up and say hello. Have fun!]

As he meandered towards the line, tables and their x-rays, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious. X-rays meant doctors. Doctors meant check-ups. He didn't know he would have to have a physical to find out if he was a meister or not! It wasn't a problem but it still made him wonder if he would have to take off his clothes or anything.
He was really hoping he didn't have too. He still smelled like his previous mission and on top of that there were things that just shouldn't be seen unless otherwise stated! There was no going back now, so better to just get it over with now than to worry about it for a moment longer!
If only the line would move a little faster.

Aqua couldn't always wear the outfit she came to Death City in, but the style of clothes she wore was usually reminiscent of it. Today she was wearing a dark sleeveless shirt with a high collar, and jeans.
When she finished with the last person she looked up with a polite smile, "Could I have the next person come up, please?"

It was a girl.
A pretty girl who dyed her hair blue.
He felt a little sheepish in her presence. If he knew he'd be check out by a girl, he'd had done something to his hair. But that would only work if she didn't already think he looked a little weird. Or like a troublemaker. Or both. It was better to just roll with it, he figured.
"Whoa...Am I really at the right place to figure if I'm a Meister or not?" Because she didn't look like a doctor. But maybe doctors in this world didn't wear coats. Maybe they were all just ... nice receptionists with qualifications to be doctors? It was a new world, anything was possible.
...omg, Rin. Why so cute?
And, honestly, this boy wasn't the strangest arrival she's seen and Aqua preferred not to assume someone was a troublemaker unless they gave her reason to (like that one new arrival who had stolen her wallet).
What she did find a little strange was his question and she did give him a bit of an odd look for it.
"You are." Still not entirely certain where that question came from, she tilted her head a little in confusion, "Why do you ask?"
alkjdfshds!!
It was good! ...But also a little on the unnerving side. His question couldn't have been that weird, right? "...You got all these x-rays out here so there's supposed to be some kind of physical, right?"

"It's not really a physical." She placed a hand on the machine beside her, "This x-ray machine probably a little different from what you're used to. It can get an image of not only what's inside your body but your soul as well. From that I can tell if you're a Weapon or a Meister."

That all changed when everything that Fujimoto said became too true and far too real, when he became that monster his father would preach about. And if that was so, if it was true that demons were real, that there were monsters (that he was one too), then it must have meant that he didn't (couldn't) have a soul.
How could he? As far as he knew, demons didn't even have their own bodies until they possessed something in Assiah. He didn't have his sword so there went his heart. All that was left was him. What would she say then, when she realized that no soul showed up in the x-ray? And even if something did show up, was he sure he wanted to see it?
He tried to smile despite himself. He chuckled, doing his best to expel his earlier mood. "There's not really another way to find that out? I mean, what's a soul anyway, right?"
...wow. I am missing an 'is' in that sentence. /)__(\
His smile did little to dispel her growing concern.
Still, it wasn't really her place to question him about it. Not when she barely even knew him.
"This is one of the easiest and most accurate way." She said simply, but not unkindly, "Or you can someone with Soul Perception look at it." Otherwise he'd have to...throw himself down some stairs and hope that he was a Weapon. She was hardly going to suggest that, of course.
nah it's all cool~
"I don't wanna walk around not knowing and someone else just finds out by looking..." Which was his own roundabout way of agreeing. But just to clarify he added, "Whatever, I may as well. Do I just stand in front of the x-ray or somethin'?"
Even though he had his misgivings, he was still very curious. And at least now he'd be able to learn instead of figuring it out later. ...But throwing himself down the stairs could be an interesting plan, if she suggested it.

Aqua nodded, and gestured to a spot in front of the machine. "Just stand there for a moment." The machine had already warmed up in the time it took them to get to this point, so it was just a matter of waiting for him to get into position then hitting the right button.

Rin looked forward, waiting more and more impatiently for the inevitable.
So...what does his soul look like?
"It looks like you're a Weapon."
