Hyoubu, as always, was at World's End. He was sitting at the bar with a glass in his hands. Most of the time he preferred not the make a big fuss over being the owner of this place and today was no different.

He was, of course, watching the patrons in the place, trying to see if there would be anyone interesting today.

No one interesting today, either, but a Yamazaki, dropping himself at a chair next to Hyoubu. He took a curious glance at the glass in Hyoubu's hand but he just shook his head. This wouldn't be the evening to be drunk.

"Could you give me something alcohol-free, please?"

Well, interesting was subjective.

The bartender nodded and wandered off to prepare Yamazaki's order.

Hyoubu, barely even glanced at Yamazaki as he took another sip. You mgiht even think he hadn't noticed him at all if it weren't for the next words he spoke.

"Not looking to get drunk tonight?"

Yamazaki gave a faint smile as he waited for his drink. When Hyoubu started to talk he looked around if it was meant for him. No one else was around so he took the courage for answering.

"I'm afraid I would do awful things if I get drunk tonight."

"Awful things? Like what?"

Hyoubu idly considers signalling the bartender to spike this guy's drink but that would be bad for business (but more importantly, he hasn't actually established a secret hand signal for that.)

"Like telling you the boring story of my life and whining over it."

He doesn't notice the suspicious expression on Hyoubu's face, but what he says must be enough to hold Hyoubu back of spiking his drink.

"...that's boring." Yes, it does have that effect on him. "No one wants to hear your life story or your whining."

How can you tell that no one wants to hear it? It's you who doesn't want to hear it, right?

[Hyoubu gets an offended look.]

Alright, give me something...you don't have sake, do you? Give me something sake-like, thank you.

"Because you look like one of those generic characters that only show up for one episode and then is forgotten."

Obviously.

He doesn't stop Yamazaki from ordering something alcoholic, though. Hey, who was he to say no to business?

What is this guy blabbering about? Is he drunk or what?

"Hey, I was pretty popular in the world I came from, if you want to know! I bet you're just bitter for never topping the popularity polls."

Yamazaki never did it, either, but hey, he was 8th and it's very close to the top.

He was completely sober. He was just weird.

"I don't need to top the popularity polls. I was already popular enough to have a spin-off anime made with me as the main character."

There was no official popularity poll for his series, anyway. Just unofficial fan ones. And he ranked fourth, so there.

I have to know more of this guy...

Ohsh*t...What's so special in this kid? He got a spin-off anime? But why? Yamazaki never got a simple volume cover...

...but this guy came from another world no one knew here. He can tell he got an anime, who could tell he was not right? And if he was such a big liar, then Yamazaki has the right to tell white lies, too!

"Oh, a spin-off anime? Congrats. I got only a movie."

The park

Sai didn't always choose to go to the park for his daily walk. He just liked to change up his route to keep people on their toes. Not to mention it was boring to take the same route every day.

When he catches sight of Yamazaki though, his grin widens and he heads in his direction.

Screams. In joy, of course.

It takes some time while Yamazaki spots out the white-haired kid who just made his evening turn to a kind of nightmare not too long before and first he thinks of running away or hide somewhere, but this would be childish, even from him. So he waves to Sai and smiles at him (hoping that this makes him bored enough to leave him alone.)

"Oh...hi, Master. Are you lost?"

The best kind of screaming.

The only way Sai gets bored is when people start lecturing him. Even ignoring him encourages him to be a giant pain.

He puts his hands behind his back as he walks up, "Do I look like the kind of person that gets lost?"

Espacially in a library.

Yamazaki's not in the position when he can lecture anyone.

"No, you look like a kid who ran away from his parents to do pranks on an innocent passerby. Am I your next victim?

If it's in a library, please scream quietly.

Sai's smile widens as he all but invades Yamazaki's personal space, "Would you like to be?"

This kid and his scary smile....

"I don't know. What kind of prank would it be?"

Just don't say that I told you to do it. ;3

"Hm. What kind, huh?"

He has to take a moment to think about it. But it isn't a very long moment, "How about we hang you out one of Shibusen's taller windows?"

I won't tell them even if I'd be tortured. XD

"Wha...what?"

Yamazaki's expression is about as intelligent as of a snail. A dead one.

"Why would we do that? It sounds dangerous."

"Eh? But aren't the dangerous pranks the ones that are the most fun?"

Sai looks genuinely confused as he says this, head tilted to one side as he looks at Yamazaki.

They don't believe in talking frogs...

[anpan_tan]

"Er..." Sai gets a point. "But the funniest part of it is being hung out on the window. Are you sure you don't want to get that part?"

How about talking aliens that look like frogs?

"I think it's funnier to watch you being hung out the window."

He takes a moment to think about it though, "I can sit on the sill and watch you, if you want."

And by 'watch' he really means 'torment mercilessly'.

I'd get a room and hopefully edible food in the rest of my life for free :P

"How would it be interesting? Just staring as I hang down there and doing nothing...It's like watching the TV without turning it on."

[He thinks over the problem.]

But if you hang there you can feel the nature cuddles you around, the warm spring breeze, the song of birds...Doesn't it sound cool?

Following a long, long and deep silence...

"You're killing people for pleasure...?"

He's not really interested in the date of his death. He doubts he would try to cause any harm to this kid even if he1d try to kill him.
