Description: No matter how strange things got, you still needed to work.



They had had to close the store for a day or two as they cleaned up the graffiti, and continued to open despite having the vandals tied up outside their door. They didn't open during the riots (it would have been foolish to do that).

At the end of everything, though, the doors were opened again. Life went on, after all.

Welcome to Metokkori R, a store where they sell more flavours of instant ramen than you can shake a stick at and various other Japanese goods and snacks. Or maybe you were more interested in coming into the Hikan Café, a family style restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. There is a mysterious third store, but, unfortunately, recent events have delayed its opening.

As usual, the stores all accept communicators as payment~.

[ At first the whole being recognized and named right off the bat by the little green alien had spooked him. After all, he'd always been told to operate in secret, and only those who were closest to him really even knew his name, and that was strictly because that worked together.

He'd quickly gotten used to it, though the hero worship was still a little strange for him. ]

Could I do two, actually? Sorry. [ He laughs lightly. ] I'm like, starving today for whatever reason.

Yeah! I lost or broke most of my hair ties, so it gets a day off until I go and buy some more. [ Now the task was making sure he didn't get it caught anywhere or otherwise messed up. ]

[She nods and writes that down too.] I hate it when that happens.

[Eve hasn't had that problem for a while, though now that her hair is getting long again she might.] Did you want anything else?

Yeah, I guess now that I'm not having to be ready for work whenever it rolls in I wanna stuff my face. [ He laughs, pulling his long hair around to one side. It touches his lap this way, the ends of his hair curling on his bare thigh in his shorts. ]

Uhhh... just a soda drink. I don't really have a preference..

Would you prefer just a soda or a soda float?

A... soda. I think I wouldn't be able to finish a float. [ Duo took finishing a meal pretty seriously, and if he thought he couldn't finish it, he wasn't going to order it. ]

[ But then again, let's be honest, Duo would eat pretty much anything if given the fair chance to. He rubs his hands together, eager for the plates to hit his table. ] I'm super glad I actually get to sit and enjoy it today, instead of eating as fast as possible!

I worked with Matt over at Black Mesa. I was just promoted to like, assistant owner not too long ago. It's pretty nice!
