Location: Near the top of Shibusen's stairs, so like this.

Time: May 15th, morning

Description: With the riots dying down, Steve wants a little time to draw.


With the people being rescued and the citizens slowly calming down, Steve has started to relax a bit. He'll probably never fully relax, especially in a time of war, but he knows that when there's some available downtime, it's good to take it. Rest up and refocus so that he'll be ready for the next mission or crisis that occurs. Back in WWII, it was a blessing to get a full nights sleep. Although the citizen unrest is not really similar to fighting HYDRA, it was still rather chaotic.

Since morning training is still canceled, Steve has brought his sketchpad with him to an area that's near the top of Shibusen's long stairway. He hasn't really gotten much of a chance to draw Death City from this view, mostly because of other priorities that needed to be taken care of. However, drawing is still one of his favorite hobbies and luckily for him, it's something that he can do in any world well one would hope at least. With a pencil in hand, he flips to a blank page and begins to outline the city below him. It's not a city he is completely familiar with, but it's still something he wants to remember.

Although, his sketchbook is already somewhat filled with pictures of people and places he doesn't want to forget.

Steve doesn't mind talking to people at all, even when he's drawing like this. He can always resume later and it would be rude to ignore someone that's trying to speak with him. So, when Fon starts to walk over to his spot, Steve stops and turns a little to look at him.

"Good morning. Here for the view?" It seems that others enjoy being up here too.

[firelotus]

He smiles, and comes up closer. "I'm actually exploring, but the veiw is quite remarkable."

Exploring? Steve wonders if he's new around here. "New to Death City? Or didn't get the chance to come up here?" The riots and everything did keep everyone busy for a while. Either way, it's not really a big deal.

[firelotus]

"I've been here since just before the recent riots. And there are many places to get to know here." Knowing your way around was always good. Like what rooftop was best for a run, or where there were poles and alleys, where it was possible to do daily shopping and all that belonged to normal life.

[itsfondue]

"Can't argue that. Getting to know the places here is important." Finding the best areas for future defense or something like that. Know various shortcuts and the sort.

"This area gives a good overview, though the small details are missed."

[firelotus]

"Yes." He stops beside Steve, and turns his gaze toward the city below. "However, not seeing the details makes it interesting to remember them and imagine."

[itsfondue]

Steve returns his attention to the city as well, trying to imagine the details that are there. "A real testament whether or not we know the city." Even the smallest detail can really mean something.

[firelotus]

"I can't imagine more than a few places this far, though." He has a lot more exploring to do before he knows every back-alley and sign in the town.

[itsfondue]

"Just keep exploring, you'll eventually see further." Fon seems like he has a good head on his shoulder anyways.

"Oh, I'm Steve Rogers. It's nice to meet you, Mr...?"

[firelotus]

"I do hope so." He's sure that he will after some time. He spends a lot of his days to explore.

"My name is Fon. It is a pleasure to meet you, Mr Rogers." Fist against palm, he bows.

Steve smiles and nods, he'd probably bow back if he was standing up. He soon becomes a little more serious though. "Is this your first time in a war?"

[firelotus]

"That depends on how you look at it." He's been fighting from the shadows, mostly, as a hired assassin. "I guess you could say that I have.. participated in wars on a smaller scale than this one."

[itsfondue]

"It's a very different kind of war, isn't it?" Even though it's lasted for a long time, they're mostly sticking to one city... and not in the trenches. It's vastly different from World War II as well, and that was supposed to be one of the biggest. "You're a soldier then?"

"The Meisters and Weapons partnership was somethin' to get used to." With the focus on partnerships rather than a squad.

[firelotus]

"I'm a martial artist, and sometimes, I get hired as an assassin." He come from a much-mafia world, after all. "That's one type of soldier, I guess."

"I thankfully teach a lot so I adapt easily." Teach martial arts to kid and stuff. He had patience and always wanted to try to understand people.

[itsfondue]

He's interested that Fon is a martial artist, but. "Kill people for pay then?" Steve does frown a little at that. Of course he's worked with Natasha and Clint, but in general, assassins are more in the grey area for him.

[firelotus]

"Yes. Although I prefer to solve things without violence." Which, considering how al other assassins in his world were, would have sounded weird if it wasn't coming from Fon. Assassins from his world were known to love shedding blood.

[itsfondue]

"Is there a reason why you stick with assassinations then?" Steve doesn't know much about his world, but he still wonders why Fon would stick with that job. Of course, he's not unfamiliar with violence and killing people, being a soldier himself.

[firelotus]

"There are some times that there is no other way. And when I started it, I simply did it to be able to survie. I don't take on many jobs anymore, though."

[itsfondue]

Survival, huh? Steve knows that people turn to criminal activities just to survive on the streets... during the Depression, it happened a lot. He never agreed with it though, but he had enough to survive without doing so. But it sure wasn't an easy time.

"Couldn't find another way at all?" He's glad that Fon doesn't take many jobs anymore but. "Even now?"

[firelotus]

"It was pretty rough in the parts of China where I grew up. At the time, there were not many who hired, especially not those without any proper education."

"Now I mostly teach others martial arts. It's fun teaching." He had never taught anyone all the different types of martial arts that he knows, however. "And if I find any arts that I do not know yet, I find a teacher so that I can study it."

Steve's never been to China, so he just listens to Fon, nodding a little at his words. He's definitely not an expert about the inner workings of that country, especially since he's not sure which time period Fon is from. The idea of assassinations still makes him frown, but it seems that he's trying to go into other jobs now.

"You specialize in many different types then?" He's actually curious about that, since Steve tries to do a lot of hand-to-hand combat as well. "I'm interested in martial arts, know a few forms thanks to some of my friends back in the war. Probably wouldn't have gotten this far without knowing it."

[firelotus]

"Yes. I know several styles." 'Several' is an understatement, though. He knows a fair amount - more than anyone in his world.

"Do you know which art it is you have been taught?"

[itsfondue]

He seems to become a little more easygoing with the talk of martial arts. "Have a favorite style? Know it's not the easiest thing to choose though. All of them are helpful."

"Judo is one of 'em." And Steve probably knows more, but I'm honestly not too sure about how much of his comic powers transferred to his movie self.

[firelotus]

"Indeed, and as I have practiced for many years, I have picked up a fair amount. However I am quite fond of the Changquan, as it was one of the first styles I learned."

He nods, judo is one of the most spread martial arts after all, and very convenient to know. "How many techniques to you know?"

Steve nods, the first style usually holds that fondness. "So you teach your martial arts to some of the people here as well?"

"Mostly the tossing and grappling ones. Usually I can toss with either arms or legs. Normally use the holding style for grappling." Steve probably doesn't know all of their specific names.
