Characters: Rock Lee and YOU!! ♥
Location: Shibusen City Park
Rating: G to ?? (depends on the language of who stops by)
Time: mid-afternoon, April 17th
Description: Lee is still down from Gai-sensei and others disappearing earlier in the month. He needs some cheering up, or maybe just someone to distract him.
Lee sat on a park bench with his communicator in his hand. He wasn't looking at the device but rather out over the large park where some happy owners were playing with their dogs. Even then, Lee's gaze wasn't on anyone in particular. His round, dark, orb-like eyes remained fixed and mostly unblinking.
For a teenager who was often full of energy and shouting proclamations of youth, he looked rather somber. The fresh breath of spring was in the air, but for Rock Lee it was hardly a day to celebrate. With his sensei gone, along with Kakashi, several of his friends before them, and now even Temeraire, Lee just felt listless.

Omg hi, I'm just gonna tag in here? ;w;
He was just wandering by a park when he actually noticed Lee. Something about the boy seemed off, though Judai didn't know what mostly because he didn't know him at all. All the same, he felt drawn to sit next to him suddenly, speaking as he did so.
"Hey! You look pretty down. This is a pretty weird place to be... y'know... sad at." He gestured to the park vaguely before grinning at his new companion.
please do~ :3c
"I suppose I am down," he said as he straightened back in his seat. He glanced across the park, then back to the boy beside him. "This place reminds me the most of home. At least there is some greenery here."
He reached up and scratched at his neck. "Where would you think someone sad should be?"
no subject
He perked up again at the question and scratched his cheek, almost sheepishly. "I tend to keep to myself when I'm sad. I guess I'm just not used to seeing someone sad out in the open like this."
Moving his hand, he started to tap his chin instead. "But I think I can understand why you're here." He paused and tilted his head at the other boy. "'Cause you're homesick, right?" It wasn't that he was trying to shove it in the boy's face, he just wasn't always good at picking up on cues, so he was trying to make sure he'd figured it out right...
no subject
Lee needed air and space, room to run around freely and the pull of nature to call him into action. Being outside had refreshed him a bit, but there was still sadness lingering within him that would not so easily be quenched.
"I miss my sensei," Lee replied, unafraid of telling the truth in the matter or baring his heart to a stranger. "In that sense, yes, I am homesick. He was my biggest supporter, but now he has returned home. It makes me feel rather lost here."
no subject
"...Yeah, I know what that's like..." He didn't really expand on that any further right away, but he really did understand the sentiment.
A moment later, Judai was laughing a little as he rubbed the back of his head. "'cause I kind of miss my sensei too! Probably not as much as you miss yours, though." Lightly, he patted the boy's shoulder, in an attempt to be comforting.
no subject
He appreciated the pat on his shoulder. Physical reassurance was always comforting to Lee.
"It is hard to be without our sensei, that is true. We need to stay optimistic despite missing them, right?" Lee released a soft sigh, though he seemed a bit happier. "I might feel sad for a while yet, but I will try to regain my previous spirit."
He smiled at the other boy. "Thank you for your help!"
no subject
"Exactly! We just have to keep plugging on! I'm sure we'll see everyoe we miss again really soon. Especially if we can help with this war thing..."
He grinned in response to the smile. "No problem! I just hope you'll feel even better soon." And he meant that. He much preferred to see people happy than sad.
no subject
"I hope so, too," Lee said, giving the boy a nod. He was not at his best if he wasn't his usual chipper self. "Thank you again for your help. I am in your debt, sir!"
no subject
"Oh, hey, don't call me sir, that's weird." He laughed and held out his hand. "I'm Judai." There, he had actually remembered to introduce himself. That always took a little bit of time for him.
no subject
Lee was usually a little better at introducing himself, but his earlier distraction had been, well, distracting. He was always glad to make friends, especially others who would encourage him or that he could lift up himself. He thought that this would likely be a very grand friendship.
"Thank you again for your words. I am still trying to come to grips with my sensei being gone, but you have helped me a great deal today."
no subject
"Hey, I'm just happy I could help. I know it's kinda ... uh ... not so great here." He scratched his cheek a little awkwardly. "And maybe your sensei will come back! I mean... it's something to hope for, right?"
no subject
"It is definitely a different place," Lee agreed, nodding. "However, Shibusen is not a bad organization, and Death City is not too terrible. Though it takes some getting used to. And you are right, Judai-san! We can always have hope, no matter what!"
Wow, he really got this guy. It made Lee warm and fuzzy inside to know there were other optimistic youths out there to be encouraging along with him in Death City. He had only seen such darkness as of late...
no subject
He tilted his head a little. "It doesn't seem too bad. Just weird and... lonely." He shrugged and laughed.
no subject
"It is weird. I do not know why they insist on making everything about Death." The theme of Death City was just a little creepy, truth be told. But Lee brightened up again. "On the other hand, Shinigami-sama is a very fine fellow. If you ever have the chance to talk with Kid-san, I highly suggest it!"
no subject
With a soft snicker, he nodded in agreement with Lee. "Seems a little... uh... morbid." He was pretty sure that was the word, anyway. "...Oh? I might hafta talk to him then!"
no subject
Morbid was definitely the word, though there was a sort of charm that it brought to it, too. It almost made death seem less threatening to Lee. Not that he had feared death quite like a normal person might.
"Kid-san is quite charming and you will probably feel a bit more at home if you have the chance to meet with him." Lee smiled serenely. "I find I enjoy knowing who I am working for so I can gauge for myself what kind of person they are. If you happen to meet him, perhaps it will influence just what steps you take concerning your future here in Death City."
no subject
Lee's advice seemed very sound and Judai wouldn't mind meeting this Kid person if he got the chance to. But something about what Lee said struck him and he responded quickly. "Oh! I already know what I plan on doing. I have to help where I can! I'm going to fight as hard as I can. I have to!" It was a sort of matter-of-fact statement, like he fully believed that was his only possible course of action. Which he did.
no subject
"Splendid!" Lee gives him a thumbs up. "Then I expect to see you at morning training! It is a good place to get used to this place. Everyone else there is also a newcomer to this world, so you will not have to feel you are alone in trying to adjust, Judai-san."
no subject
And damn, it looked like everything was going to force him to go to morning training. He slumped a little at the thought, but kept smiling at Lee. "Thanks, Lee! Though... I really wish there was like an afternoon training or something. I'm so bad at being up in the morning." He had always slept through his classes because of it.
no subject
Judai's problem with the morning was not one Lee could really empathize with, but he understood that not everyone was an early bird such as himself. He gave Judai a bracing pat on the back. "That is all a part of training! Think of it as an exercise in preparing for an invasion! There is no warning for those, so you may very well be woken up early in the morning someday and need to be ready to take action!"
But Lee's intensity relaxed a little and he offered a considering nod. "But if you have a hard time in the mornings, then do not feel obligated to come too early. You will miss breakfast, but as long as you can make it in for an hour of training we would be glad to have you."
no subject
Ah, but breakfast was the one thing he had found himself looking forward to involving the morning training. He grinned a little as he replied. "Missing breakfast would be the worst. I don't think I'd wanna miss that out of everything."
