Characters: Rock Lee and YOU!! ♥
Location: Shibusen City Park
Rating: G to ?? (depends on the language of who stops by)
Time: mid-afternoon, April 17th
Description: Lee is still down from Gai-sensei and others disappearing earlier in the month. He needs some cheering up, or maybe just someone to distract him.
Lee sat on a park bench with his communicator in his hand. He wasn't looking at the device but rather out over the large park where some happy owners were playing with their dogs. Even then, Lee's gaze wasn't on anyone in particular. His round, dark, orb-like eyes remained fixed and mostly unblinking.
For a teenager who was often full of energy and shouting proclamations of youth, he looked rather somber. The fresh breath of spring was in the air, but for Rock Lee it was hardly a day to celebrate. With his sensei gone, along with Kakashi, several of his friends before them, and now even Temeraire, Lee just felt listless.

The praise, however, was unexpected. Lee's eyes widened in shock, and then they slowly started to fill with thick, watery tears. Not one to hide his emotions, Lee allowed them to spill over and didn't even bother wiping away the runny trails they left down his cheeks.
"Th-thank you, Tassadar-san! I am honored to know you have such a high opinion of me!"

Tassadar was pulled from his thoughts though at the odd reaction. Watching as the liquid began to fall from Lee's eyes, he felt a moment of concern before the words followed. It was a reaction he had never seen from a human before, at least not in such large quantities.
"You have always fought well and bravely," he said while inclining his head with respect.

Lee sniffled and finally reached up to wipe away his tears. "It has always been a pleasure fighting alongside you, Tassadar-san. I sincerely appreciate your patience with me during our missions together."
He took a deep breath, a frown once again pouting his lips. "I am afraid we may have to stop working at temporary partners for a while, however. I upset someone recently, although..." He scratched at the back of his neck, uncomfortable that things had to come to this. He liked Tassadar. He was a good fighter and a true warrior. But if it was going to cause problems, then...

The next reaction, however, confused the templar. Humans were an odd creation, and when it appeared that Lee was uncomfortable over the matter, Tassadar chuckled lightly. "You have nothing to fear for I will not be offended," the templar murmured in reply. "My companion, the prelate Zeratul, was returned to this world as a Weapon, and thus we have been attempting to resonate."

It was heartening to know that Tassadar's friend had returned, and with an ability that could possibly compliment the two Protoss. Lee found he could smile even brighter at the news, because good news for a friend overshadowed his gloominess, if only momentarily. "That is wonderful! I hope you are able to become good partners!"
Good partners. Lee had somewhat failed on that end recently. His thoughts turning inward, Lee looked back across the park and his smile faded. "There was some miscommunication with a friend of mine, I think. That strain has not helped matters either."

"It is of no doubt that we will fight well in battle," Tassadar said in reply. Zeratul had seen him at his worse, and unlike with the humans, the templar felt no need to hide his true self away. While he knew well that there was much the prelate kept to himself, such information would see the light in due time.Tassadar was patient, after all.
The change in the young human had him considering the words seriously. Regarding Lee in quiet thought, Tassadar contemplated what was offered to him. "I see," he murmured lightly at first. Falling quiet for a moment longer, his tone almost seemed to reflect a grandfatherly nature as he next spoke. "Miscommunications are as bound to our lives as breathing. There is no shame in having such an encounter with a companion so long as you both grow and move towards the future. You may find that such miscommunications could find your bonds growing stronger, for they would open you both up."
That was what had happened with Zeratul and himself when they had first met.

Getting life advice from an alien wasn't exactly what Lee had expected when he had come out to the park to reflect, but it helped. He no longer had Gai he could go to when questions cropped up, and while he wasn't comfortable asking everything of his friends he could appreciate their attempts to educate him. Tassadar's words rang true and Lee took heart in them, nodding his understanding.
"If our misunderstanding can strengthen our bond, then perhaps it is even for the better that it happened," Lee said at length, his voice contemplated. He gave another quick nod, grunting. "I have decided! I will talk with my friend and see if we can figure out where to go from here."
He looked back up at his friend and gave Tassadar a true, large, Lee-grin. "Thank you, Tassadar-san! I feel quite a bit better, now that I have a goal to focus on!"

Nodding his head, the offer of thanks was appreciated, even if unnecessary. Pleased to see the change in the renewed energy within Lee, he chuckled lightly. "It is in times like these that you must not forget to look towards the future, and that obstacles will only remain in your path should you allow for it."
