Description: The "attraction" was quite the hit last time. Who will you find yourself shacked up with now?

The island the Bazaar sits on is certainly big, but who thought they'd be able to fit an entire river on top of it? The line for the ride is just as large as you'd think it'd be, and it's been split in two with a tall screen to prevent people in both sides from seeing the other.

The staffers operating the line don't seem to care about making it grow; they're literally pulling people unlucky enough to wander too close and shoving them in a line before they can protest. You could try to get away, but the rest of the crowd's pushing impatiently forward and before long, you're up.

You might as well just get it over with. Hopefully the company's nice.

Fine.. [ She was just doing him a favor. Not like she wanted to do this herself. Clearly not. At least that thought made it a little more easy.

Not that the darkness helped this game though, how was she supposed to find his thumb when she couldn't even see it? Well, at least she could try by moving her thumb into the general direction of where his' should logically be while they're holding their hands like this. ]

[ She seemed to be having trouble locating his thumb. Well, maybe this wasn't the best idea in this kind of lighting. But he could make her out, so...she probably just needed more time to adjust. When he felt her thumb touch his, he moved it to the right, trying to avoid her now. It'd be unfair if he went all out, she never played before. Might as well give her time to get used to it. ]

[entreats]

[ .. Hah, she did feel that. Enough to feel he moved right. (Yes, she was already slowly starting to get into it, as with most things she pretends to dislike at first..)

So for a moment or two, in an attempt to throw him off, she just pretended to still be feeling around in the dark.. but then she quickly moved her thumb in the direction his thumb went earlier, trying to catch it. ]

[ Nice try, was the only thing he could think. He quickly jerked his thumb back, dodging hers as it came in, and putting it on top. He didn't push though. That'd be unfair, she needed to get used to the game. Before he could fully pin her thumb down, he let go, putting his own thumb into an upright position. ]

[entreats]

[ There was actually a slight groan of frustration at that. Yup, she was already starting to get into this whole thing, and if there was anything any Ushiromiya hated, it was losing once they got into something. ]

No fair. [ She wasn't letting go of his hand though, so she was still playing. ]

Haha, don't sweat it, it's your first time. Let's have another round. [ He put his thumb back in the upright position. ]

1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a thumb war!

[entreats]

[ Okay, fine, she's got it!! Maybe she should just turn this whole thing around. That means she's just going to hold her thumb right there and wait for him to move first this time, since she's sure moving towards his thumb would just make her get caught again. ]

[second_star]

[ So she was taking a more defensive position this time, huh? Guess he was going to have to be a little sneaky. Slowly, he moved his thumb to her right, before quickly pulling over to the left, and then back up again. ]

[entreats]

[ At that, Ange actually figured she finally had her chance. So she quickly moved the moment she felt his thumb close to hers, almost trying to catch it by moving her own thumb wildly..

.. but at the same time it also caused her to lose her balance, nearly managing to topple out of the boat they were in if it wasn't for the fact that the guy was still holding her hand. She let out a shriek in the middle of the darkness they were in as it happened. ]

[ Seemed like she was trying too hard. She began to lose her balance, and Yuri instinctively held onto her hand tighter, forgetting entirely about the game and pulling her into him. Of course, the boat rocked a little, but he managed to keep her from falling out. For a few seconds, there was silence, has he held her closer to him. Then he spoke. ]

Careful! You alright?

[entreats]

[ Ange didn't answer at first. Mostly since she half didn't even realise what was going on. One moment she had nearly been falling out of the boat, and then he had tugged on her hand, and.. it was difficult to see it in the dark, of course, everything was only a little visible like this, but the feeling of all of this, his touch, was enough to tell her what was going on once her thoughts settled down. He was.. right there holding her, wasn't he? His scent filled her nostrils and his warmth her body as she tried to take some deep breaths, stunned at the realisation. He was hugging her, wasn't he? Not like he had wanted to, it was just because it had practically been necessary because of her own stupid action there, but.. he was hugging her.

And she wasn't entirely sure why, but somehow it just felt so nice that she didn't exactly want it to stop. Not right away, at least. Not like anyone would notice as long as they were in here either--

.. Wait, he asked something.. Ange, snap out of it!

She shook her head to herself a few times as if she was trying to snap her out of her stunned silence, and then she finally spoke - but didn't bother to move away from him just yet, apparently. Maybe she could pretend it was so the boat wouldn't rock more. ]

Y.. yeah. I'm fine.

[second_star]

[ He gave a sigh of relief. ] Jeez, that scared me. Be careful. [ Though he couldn't help but sound anything other than happy...or, well, relieved. They remained this way for another moment of silence, Yuri looking up at what he could only guess was the dark ceiling. He shot an idle question her way. ]

...So, is this how the ride is supposed to end up? [ Hugs in the dark? ]

[entreats]

For couples, I assume. [ Of course she had to establish that here before he would get the wrong idea. The wrong idea that was actually the entirely right idea that she felt too embarassed about to even fully admit to herself, let alone to him. And she didn't exactly want to pull away, but.. after saying that she should, right? Else it'd seem weird for sure, so she moved back, escaping his grip. ]

At least nobody saw, so nobody will think anything weird.

[ As she moved away from his grip, he could feel the colder air hitting where she had been laying. He had to admit...it wasn't uncomfortable for him either. But, she was right. It probably would seem weird. Though... ]

It's not like I care what other people think. [ He sat back up now, and looked to her with a smile. ]

The end of the tunnel is coming up anyway. That was kind of fun, I'll admit.

[entreats]

[ Ange seemed a little more relunctant to speak up, but she knew that if she wanted to say this, she had to do it now. If they would get out of the ride and be among people again, then who knew who would hear this, and she definitely only wanted him to hear it, so.. ]

.. It was. [ Yes, she actually admitted it, even if it was with difficulty. ] I'm.. glad that I came to the carnival with you today, Yuri.

[second_star]

[ ...That was a strangely sentimental statement, coming from her. It caught him off guard, and he didn't really say anything for a few moments. But as they were about the exit the tunnel, he looked to her and smiled, the light from the end now making it visible. ]

Me too, Ange. I really enjoyed it.

[entreats]

[ .. Something about the light made this whole situation much more embarassing. Even if they weren't fully out of the tunnel yet, just close enough to the light for their faces to be visible..

It was enough to make her avert her gaze towards the water though. ]

Then let's go again the next time the carnival comes back. [ A moment, and then she added-- ] Together.

[ That was an offer he couldn't find it in himself to refuse. ]
