[OPEN] Love Shack

Characters: OPEN
Location: Nocturne Bazaar
Rating: Gen… Maybe. Don't do anything you wouldn't tell your mother about!
Time: April 3rd, April 4th
Description: The "attraction" was quite the hit last time. Who will you find yourself shacked up with now?

The island the Bazaar sits on is certainly big, but who thought they'd be able to fit an entire river on top of it? The line for the ride is just as large as you'd think it'd be, and it's been split in two with a tall screen to prevent people in both sides from seeing the other.

The staffers operating the line don't seem to care about making it grow; they're literally pulling people unlucky enough to wander too close and shoving them in a line before they can protest. You could try to get away, but the rest of the crowd's pushing impatiently forward and before long, you're up.

You might as well just get it over with. Hopefully the company's nice.

((ooc; this log takes place over both the first day and the second day. please use the subject line indicator [ NAME | DATE | OPEN/CLOSED ] and keep in mind that during the second day, characters will likely be under the effects of growing madness!))

[Lily gaped at him as he reached into a pocket.] You're actually going to pay for that photo?

[Her attempt to snatch the picture from the photographer was unsuccessful. The woman quickly accepted Lezard's bill and presented him with his souvenir before moving on to take incriminating photos of whatever unlucky couple came out of the tunnel next.]

[Lily blew out an exasperated breath and glanced at him as she stepped out of the boat.]
Please tell me you intend to burn that thing.

And ruin a perfectly good conversation starter? I think not! [He pocketed it, and climbed out of the boat as well.]

There will come a day that you see this photograph on my mantlepiece and think, "Well, well, do you remember that day where the rude individuals shoved us upon that wretched wooden swan?"

And I will laugh and say, "Yes, yes indeed, my lady. Would you care for another cup of tea?"

[Snickering? Yes, he was snickering like a devil.]

[Lily frowned as the photo disappeared into his pocket.] You’re not really going to show that ridiculous picture to anyone, are you? [She moved towards the ride’s exit.]

And you’re assuming I would even willingly visit your home and have tea with you. [Her tone and the look she gave him implied this would be as likely as her announcing to the entire city that she was a witch and would be opening a fortunetelling parlor.]

[Although the idea of breaking into his apartment later to retrieve it had occurred to her… Unfortunately, she had no idea where he lived. Plus, the Hand of Glory was back in San Francisco; it was pretty handy for unlocking doors as long as she didn’t think about the gruesome fact that it was the dried and pickled hand of a dead man.]

I can't imagine ever showing it to anyone. No, 'tis our little memory! [...Or he never gets house guests. but would he admit that? Of course not.]

Well, you never know when we might find ourselves in need of kind company... [Spoken wistfully with a shrug, following her out of the ride.]

Nevertheless, I will not be broadcasting the photo over the DEMISE Network, if that is indeed your next question. Take solace in the fact that I am not one of Death City's esteemed gossips.

And since Lily has to go do this again with a Pharaoh...

[Was he being wistful?] I’m not that lonely. [Yes, she missed her California friends and having people could confide in—she had even considered trying to make a mandragora if she could manage to find a mandrake plant somewhere—but even she wasn’t that desperate for company.]

[And actually, that possibility hadn’t occurred to her. She frowned at the thought since she didn’t trust him that much.] But can I actually believe you?

[As they exited, one of the attendants asked Lily if she enjoyed the Tunnel of Love and was answered with a very irritated ‘No!’ She didn’t enjoy the ride? An unsatisfied customer just wouldn’t do! And the carnival employee started dragging Lily off.] Let me go! I’m not going through that cotton-pickin’ tunnel again!

[And this is probably a good opportunity for Lezard to escape before he meets a similar fate…]

Jeez, poor girl.

And yet I never specifically said 'lonely', dearest. [A devil-may-care shrug. So she was rather lonesome? That he understood, considering BREW's penchant for kidnapping, though he himself saw nothing but his world's destruction at the hands of Loki and the Dragon Orb. What loneliness was there to be had for him when there was nothing back home for him anymore, or even to begin with?]

[A courteous bow.] You have my word that this photograph is ours and ours alone.

[How did he like the Tunnel of Love? Lezard couldn't answer, as Lily had snapped the reply and answered rather for him. He agreed- it was an awful thing that shouldn't exist, and sure enough, someone was dragging her off to do it again.]

You will endure, my lady! What's one more swan ride, hm? We will meet again!

[And someone was coming after him as well. He quickly ducked off and made his hasty escape.]
