[OPEN] Love Shack

Description: The "attraction" was quite the hit last time. Who will you find yourself shacked up with now?

The island the Bazaar sits on is certainly big, but who thought they'd be able to fit an entire river on top of it? The line for the ride is just as large as you'd think it'd be, and it's been split in two with a tall screen to prevent people in both sides from seeing the other.

The staffers operating the line don't seem to care about making it grow; they're literally pulling people unlucky enough to wander too close and shoving them in a line before they can protest. You could try to get away, but the rest of the crowd's pushing impatiently forward and before long, you're up.

You might as well just get it over with. Hopefully the company's nice.

[Unfortunately, they did waste a good portion of the ride tiptoeing around the fact that they were actually on the ride.

But Takuto isn't thinking about the ride at all--all he can think about is Yako, and even then there's not a whole lot of thinking. He just wants to keep kissing her, and kiss her everywhere, and keep holding her close enough to feel her breathe when they have to part for air, and he never wants to stop. But it feels like it's just as things are getting really good that the lights are turned back on and there's a few people whistling and cheering obnoxiously.

He pulls back abruptly, his face flushing as he tries to catch his breath.]

{Yako feels like she's drowning in him, getting pulled deeper and deeper by currents she doesn't fully understand. It's a little scary in a way, because it makes her feel like her skin is not her own, like she's on some heated, needy sort of autopilot.

It's a little scary, but she kind of likes it, too.

When the lights and noise abruptly flood back in, she jolts away from Takuto. Her face is flaming as she presses it into her hands, but she's laughing a little at the entire situation.}

Oh my god.

[Their boat bumps against the shore and one of the carnival workers motions for them to get out with a cheeky, knowing grin. Takuto would much rather go crawl into a hole or just jump overboard right now, but he steadies himself and even offers Yako a hand to help her out. Seeing her laugh a little helps him relax, though.]

Well, that was a fun ride. [He can't think of anything else to say as they exit the Tunnel of Love area.]

{She takes his hand and steps out, moving to the side so she can smooth the very telling wrinkles out of her rumpled clothes. It's a little embarrassing, since the whistles and catcalls still split the air (though they're directed at other occupied couples as they emerge). Still, she's up for a little teasing.}

Better than the roller coaster?

[His cheeks heat up just a little--or maybe they had never really cooled down, but he's gotten a silly grin on his face and he doesn't think it'll be leaving for quite some time.]

Yes. I-I'd do that ride again.

{She takes his hand as they exit, shy and jittery and exhilarated all at once. Her smile is silly too, but there's a certain sense of satisfaction coloring it. Despite the age difference, Takuto was the one with more experience. And she is the one who made him like this. It's an amazing feeling.}

...maybe sometime before we go back.

[Takuto is definitely okay with that plan. He's only half teasing wih his next suggestion.]

So should we go get back in line or... or maybe have a snack first....

[Since... that stomach of hers...]

[And that was right when Chika was walking past, catching a familiar sight of red hair right by the Tunnel of Love. So Takuto had found another person to date. Well, that wasn't really a big deal.

She did break up with him, after all. And after everything that happened, it probably wouldn't have worked out if they tried to do it. Maybe whoever he was with would be able to handle him better than she could-

-- Wait a second? That girl next to Takuto. Chika knew her.

She couldn't even help it, before she even realized it, she was heading closer to them, and sure enough, she did know the girl.]

... Yako-san?

[She didn't mean to say it loud enough for people to hear her, but with how close she ended up getting, well, all they needed to do was turn slightly and she'd be in full view.]

Oooh! I could definitely go for some kettlecorn...

{Yako turns at the familiar voice, blinking in surprise when she sees Chika. She blinks slowly, as her brain flashes rapidly through the composition and relevance of this little scene.

She is holding the hand of her new boyfriend, after a very active ride through the Tunnel of Love.

Chika is Takuto's ex-girlfriend.

Chika is Takuto's ex-girlfriend, and broke up with him in a very messy way.

Yako blinks again, then smiles. She doesn't let go of Takuto's hand though; she's not ashamed of this, after all. She just hopes this isn't something painful for her friend.}

Hi, Chika-san! Have you been having fun?

[Chika blinks, looking between Yako and Takuto for a bit, before smiling.]

Yeah. I have. What about you two?

[Well, the answer should've been pretty obvious... but that didn't matter. She didn't know if she should let Yako know how she and Takuto broke up or not... or even that they had used to date in the first place.]

[Takuto's first reaction is to freeze at the sound of Chika's voice. Sure, they'd seen each other after their break up at Kid's pool party, but... running into your ex while on your first date with your new girlfriend wasn't at all like running into her while at your city's teenage leader's pool party.

He tries to relax but finds it impossible. What if Chika had seen them come out of the Tunnel of Love? That would be unbearably embarrassing, as well as make him feel like the kind of guy he doesn't want to be but is afraid he's turning into.

Yako can do the talking while he tries to give Chika an awkward smile and pull his hand from Yako's without drawing attention to the movement.]

Yeah, lots! We hit some thrill rides first, then got some food...

{Her smile doesn't falter, even as she catches Takuto's hand again and laces their fingers together, in order to send a pointed silent message to him: Don't make this out to be something you're ashamed of. I won't be a Dirty Little Secret to any degree.}

We might get some snacks, then do a few more rides now.

[Chika giggles, before looking between the two of them again, seeing the way they were holding hands.]

Well, it definitely sounds like you two are having fun. Which rides did you like the best?

[The way Takuto's face reddens and their proximity to the Tunnel of Love is sure to give his answer away. But he can't tell Chika that! The last thing he wants to do is rub it in her face that he's with someone new.

He manages to stop his hand's fidgeting, but he's just... very uncomfortable.]

...the r-roller coasters....

[Where is a hole in the ground and can he go crawl in it now? How can Chika and Yako both be so calm? Girls are weird.]

Yeah, that was a lot of fun. This guy screamed the whoooole time.

{She bumped his shoulder playfully, trying to get him to lighten up.

If he keeps acting so stiff, he'll ruin all the effort they're putting into not making things awkward!}

[Chika laughed.]

Really? Takuto-kun being afraid of a little roller coaster? I didn't think something like that would scare him.

I-it's not that I was scared, y-you've got to scream on roller coasters!

[Wait, now he has to defend himself against his ex-girlfriend and his girlfriend? This isn't fair!]

I know, I know. Just teasing~

[Chika nodded, looking back between Yako and Takuto for a few more moments. She really had to wonder when the two of them... well, got together like this.

But it really wasn't her place to say anything.]

So, besides the carnival, what else have you two been up to?

[The situation is already uncomfortable, and now that Chika's pressing for other kinds of details--what have they been doing besides the carnival? He kind of wants to shout that they haven't been a couple for very long, but that would mean shouting out that they are a couple, and in the end he just mumbles a barely audible reply and pairs it with a shrug.]

...d'nnonothinreally.....

[Maybe Yako can do the talking again.]

Hmm...well, I was in the Beauty Pageant this morning? And then I spent the morning going around here with my friend Kaworu. He was in the other contest; we each entered each other.

Oh! Well, how'd you do? I didn't go there to watch it.

[She blinks and looks over at Takuto for a moment, before turning her attention back to Yako.]

So, did you enter him after he entered you, or was it the other way around?
