Location: Lake Tahoe, CA
Rating: Various.
Time: March 27th, late morning.
Description: The second of the three Madness emitters outside Death City is the target for this mission. Bundle up, everyone -- it's gonna be a cold one.

The mission begins late in the morning, to allow the mission-goers as much sunlight as possible in the warmest part of the day. Not that it'll help much… Temperatures are well below freezing already -- unnatural even for early Spring in the mountains -- and a howling snowstorm threatens to blot out the sun, beginning up the mountain where the slope just begins to rise sharply.

The slopes themselves are fairly barren: a windswept-looking tree here, a cabin that may have once belonged to the snow patrol there, maybe a Madness-crazed bear or mountain lion. Those braving the storm are lucky enough to see five feet in front of their face in these conditions!

Those brave few who manage to make it to the top (enduring falling temperatures and defeating the corrupted fauna and hulking kishin yeti along the way) may come across their goal at the very summit of the half-mile-high mountain: the Madness emitter itself, in the eye of the storm… And one last obstacle: the Witch guarding it.

I only say it because it is true. [When Sendo reaches the cabin door, he first listens to see if he can hear anything inside. And when he does..he turns the door knob and pushes the door open.]

Oi! Is anybody in here?!

[Saya was about to complain that sendo was being too loud, but a low growl cut her off. It wasn't a bear, but a coyote. That's. Actually better. ]

Sendo!

Tch. Had to be some little mutt, didn't? [He took aim and shoot a few bullets just at its feet, trying to scare it off.]

Get out of here!

[The animal didn't seem willing to scatter; after all, the animals here were influenced by madness]

Don't just scare it!! Shoot it!

Oi! Don't yell at me! I'm just giving the thing a chance to run before we kick its ass! [He huffs a bit then fires at the thing once more, this time aiming to actually hit it.]

It's a mutated animal! Death the Kid always says they can't be saved. [like zombies.]

[the animal managed to escape the shot before charging at them with a loud snarl]

[Sendo doesn't just stand there, he rushes at the damned thing and turns Saya around. He slams the butt of her gun right into the things face as hard as he can.]

Can't fault a guy for trying!

[the coyote barks in pain, falling behind with the force of the hit]

Let's just put it out of its misery.

[Sendo..didn't really want to do this. But he aims at the animal.]

I'm sorry, mutt. [He lets off another flurry of bullets, this time aiming right at it.]

[the dog drops once its shot, now dead. And when it does, Saya turns back into her human form. It's not that she is cold about murdered puppies, but they are in the middle of a battle right now and she has seen plenty of terrible things in her lifetime. As sad as a dead coyote is, she isn't going to stop to mourn in.

Instead she looks around the cabin, spotting something hidden by an old cover. Saya pulls it, exposing the snowmobile underneath] Here we go.

[Sendo lets Saya go when she transforms back into her human form. And he doesn't really expect her to get all that upset about it, since he knows what she has to live through in her world. Still, he doesn't like having to kill animals like this, vicious or not. He's fine with kicking their asses, but putting them down is a completely other story.

He shifts his attention over to her now.]

Huh. We actually found one? [He walks over to it.]

Of course we did. I told you. [And Saya dusts it off and after sits on the driver's seat] Now, let's see. [she looks around, to have an idea of the commands.]

Yeah..but I was pretty sure you were wrong. [He moves over to it and examines it a bit with her.]

I'm never wrong!

[Saya gets off the bike, to search through the things inside the cabin. There had to be a key somewhere, or else she'd hot-wire the thing] Do you see a key?

Tch. You will be one day, and I will rub it in your face. [He looks around a bit, then spots a set of keys hanging up on a stud on the wall. He walks over to them and picks them up.] These might be it.

As if that would ever happen.

[saya turns to sendo when she hears him.] Aha, great! Give me, let's try this out!

[Sendo is noticeably hesitant about hanging the keys over to her.]

You'd better not crash.

WHAT?! mall>[ she tries to steal the keys ] Just give me the keys, Sendo!

Fine. [He drops the keys into her hands.]

[she takes them and sits on the bike again]

I'm a genius, I know how to ride bikes, how hard can this be?!

I don't know, but I'm just sayin', take it easy while we are on this thing.

[turning it on, not listening lalalalala]

I know what I'm do-

[and suddenly the snowmobile just takes off, crashing against the wall of the cabin.

Oops.

At least the cabin is made of thin wood, so there was no damage to the snowmobile?]

Sa- [Sendo cringed a bit as it crashed into the wall of the cabin. But it and Saya both looked like they were okay.]

..some genius you are. You didn't hurt yourself, did you?

[ FJHBDKJNFGKJFGKJFGBKFGBKGSFKJBGSKBGSFBKFGSJ ]

I'm fine!! [ she is mostly angry at herself.

Saya tries again, this time slower. Okay. She can do this. The girl turns the snowmobile to the door, so they could leave the cabin ]

You can into a wall, Saya. [But if she says she is, then he'll believe her. He moves and gives her the room she needs to get the thing to the door.]
