Description: It's high time everyone understood what Madness is and how to better defend themselves against it.

Although he would have liked to sit on Stein’s lecture, Kid had been busy making the final preparations for his own segment. It would actually be the first time he ever gave a lecture of any kind, but he was not nervous about it. Everything was set and this was one important matter that had to be done.

Copies of the information he was about to go over were in a neat little stack dead center on the front desk (which had also been moved slightly so that it was more centered to the room). As people came in, he told them to pick up a copy before taking a seat. Although he could spend a whole week talking about Madness, its history, and everything involved with it, he basically only had about an hour or two. It was not nearly enough, but it was a start—and that was what this session was: getting the basic understanding of Madness down.

So once Stein’s class was over and those who wished to attend had taken their seats, he began.

“You should all have a basic outline of the information that will be covered as well as supplementary material that will benefit you for both understanding what Madness is and how to resist it. There’s much that could be talked about, but I’ll try to keep this brief. The point of tonight is to give everyone a better understanding of what it is you’re facing and to clear up any misunderstandings that are floating around.”

Dirk's hand slowly came up, tilting in a sort of haphazard way for a few seconds until he'd caught Kid's attention. He was sitting by himself, near the middle of the class, his feet up on the desk in front of him.

"This Asura guy was a Meister, right?" He asked. "How many Meisters or Weapons have been corrupted irrevocably by the Madness?"

...Why was his feet on the desk.

"That is correct, and several. Weapons as well, and they actually pose the most risk as they can use their abilities to fight and can already consume souls. However Asura has been the only one to ever actually eat his own weapon. Since then those who have fallen to the path of Kishin have been dispatched before they could reach that point.

"Okay. So, since BREW started bringing people in, has there be anyone brought in by it who's gotten really badly screwed up by the Madness?" He asked without much of a pause after Kid answered him. One of his feet came off the desk, dropping to the ground. "Has anybody turned into a Kishin Egg and had to be," finger quotes, "'Dispatched'?"

"Yes," he said without any hesitation.

"Not even a month after one of its first activations, Tohru Adachi had fallen to the path of kishin. As a result, he was taken down and was sealed the same way Asura was."

From how quickly and concisely Kid had answered, Dirk could only assume that there was only one case of it. It was less than he was expecting, honestly. Maybe he was underestimating BREW's judgment or the tenacity of the people it brought in, because he was pretty sure he wasn't overestimating the Madness.

"There any records on this Adachi guy the rest of us can look at to see how it went down?"

"There are public records and even likely newspaper articles available to read in the library," Kid answered. "There are some things that have remained confidential, but not much. Most of the information regarding Adachi and what happened is open to everyone."
