[OPEN] Mission 155

Location: An unmarked cavern system outside Death City.
Rating: Various.
Time: March 18th, sunrise.
Description: Shibusen agents brave underwater caverns to take out the first of three Madness emitters.
Missiongoers pile out of the mirrors early in the morning, just as the first hints of sun start to color the walls of the sandstone canyon red and purple; it'll be the last bits of real light they'll see for at least a few hours. The atmosphere is electric -- there're quite a few new (and old) arrivals who're eager to see some action, but just as many people who're feeling rather more apprehensive… And for good reason.
The only way to their destination is blocked by a few hundred yards of sunken tunnels. Luckily they've been provided with mouthpieces, breathing apparatuses with enough oxygen to last about ten minutes: more than enough time, provided that the guests don't lose their way in the dimly-lit, twisted caverns. It's as easy as following the person in front of them, right?
Upon emerging safely from the pool onto mostly-dry land, they'll find themselves in an immense cavern, illuminated by countless, blue fungi clinging to the walls and ceiling, looking like stars dotting a night sky. Already the first signs of the way Madness has been corrupting the wildlife are evident: the mushrooms exude strange spores that make some people's head pound the same way the increasingly noticeable Madness wavelength does.
As they travel further into the watery caves and explore its many branches, they'll begin to encounter creatures twisted by Madness: moles, snakes, beetles, centipedes, all grown to monstrous proportions, some with a venomous bite that quickly turns their victim feverish and delirious. The more daring fighters can easily dispatch those and delve even deeper, and it's near the source of the Madness, in the chamber housing the emitter itself, that they'll encounter the kishin eggs.
There're dozens of them-- eyeless, white, vaguely human-shaped things, but despite their blindness they have no problem finding their quarry, fighting with claws and exuding their own Madness wavelength. If the missiongoers can stand strong against the kishin eggs and the ever-present wavelength given off by the Madness emitter, Shibusen's specialists will have enough time to shut the machine down for good.

"Understood." All business, Tsubaki wasn't given for lengthly chatter (well, when is she ever, actually...), her focus on the fool of a Kishin Egg that thought it could get the drop on her partner. Silly Egg.
The wisps of Black☆Star's shadow - sometimes Tsubaki wondered what her meister thought to see his shadow operating like a extra limb as she controlled it. But only
bireflybriefly, since her full attention was being given towards the Kishin egg -Its swing would have been precise had it had a different opponent. Though Black☆Star wasn't worried, and neither was Tsubaki, privately amused at his phrasing, as an afterthought. The shadow blocks the swing, retaliating in the same movement as it speared straight through the enemy with a vengeance. She won't let such insignificant enemies touch her meister. No sir.
Not especially when they had more kishin eggs to deal with.

"Better be glad I let ya have the spotlight for a bit." While his words weren't exactly kind (but normal for him in that regard), he smiled proudly at her, before his focused gaze flicked up to the fighting going on still.
"Are ya ready to share the stage again? That one over there seems a little closer to my great level." There was one near a wall across the chamber that he had set his eyes on.

The smile on her face isn't nearly as cocky as his might be, but it's definitely confident, regarding the Kishin Egg a second. "I'm always ready - let's do it." He needn't even ask really - although she hoped he wouldn't be so enthusiastic about fighting the Kishin Egg that he smashes something he shouldn't smash. "Just remember to keep your wits about you - it hasn't noticed us yet, we can probably get an ambush on it -" Her words are falling on deaf ears aren't they.

The words are indeed falling on deaf ears, Tsubaki, because Black☆Star's already charging forward, yelling "YAHOO~" as he does so. At least he's depending on his speed, if not stealth, because he races through the throngs of fighters and enemies quickly.
He jumps once close enough, using the momentum to take him the rest of the way, aiming to slash at the Kishin Egg's arm.

That Kishin Egg - (seriously why were they called eggs when they have arms - eggs don't have arms -- nevermind ) really couldn't have asked for a worse opponent. Its turn towards the sound of that YAHOO and RARS, rearing back to slash at the Meister only its arm is flying ...off of...its body um.
WELL yeah that apparently happened. BUT IT has another arm! And its' clearly not afraid to use it, swinging at the Meister, heedless of how easily his right arm just got disconnected from its body.

He hits the wall with his feet, using it to push off and leap to the side. The Kishin Egg's claws miss his leg, but just barely. The close call has Black☆Star scowling. No way is he going to let this stupid little creature hit him so easily.
"Tsubaki! Attack it from the other side," he tells her, just before he hits the ground and rolls to dodge another attack.

And then he gets bisected by a Tsubaki.
WOE, WOE see him lament his sins as he flies through the air and collapses into little pieces! How could you be so brutal Tsubaki! How could you be so callous and heartless! You vicious MONSTER. "I think I overdid it."

Nodding in a sort of admiration at her quick work of defeating the creature, he let out a short laugh at her words, getting to his feet in a swift maneuver. "Ain't no such thing, Tsubaki!" Right, of course he would think that way.
They were making good progress on defeating the Kishin Eggs, and Black☆Star was feeling great. This mission was definitely going to be a success. "Right, c'mon, who's next?"
