Description: The Hikan Cafe's grand re-opening and the first Chara Misfortune Series are going on sale!



Long time(?) customers of Metokkori R will notice some changes when they step into the store today. For one, part of the wall between the store and the Hikan Tea Shop has been broken down, and there's a glass shoji-styled sliding door installed in its place. If the customers are feeling peckish they can step through the door and enter to newly renovated Hikan Cafe...after paying for what they bought, of course.

The Hikan Tea shop has been renovated to match Metokkori R's decor. The place has a cute, friendly look to it, perfect for hanging out with friends, going on a date, or for family outings.

More important than all that, though, are the brightly coloured banners hanging from the ceiling of both stores advertising the "Chara Misfortune ☠ Metokkori R presents The Watch of Death City!". The whole series includes keychains of all the Zone Leaders and second in commands of the Watch. The display case near the cashier that usually displays Keroro's latest creation (read: Gunpla) is now proudly displaying a full set of Chara Misfortune Keychains.

[Every good Japanese man liked his tea, and Bansai was no exception.

Therefore, it wasn't strange for him to be here, right?

Though it may have been strange the way he appeared almost out of nowhere, and just happened to be in Itou's line of sight when he turned around.]

I daresay, I did not expect to see you here, Itou-dono.

[Itou is turning around to dump the contents of his strainer on a plate when Bansai snaps into his line of sight, and he almost drops the thing in his surprise. Thankfully, Itou has way more self-control than that and the only visible evidence of his shock is a small twitch upward of his shoulders.]

[The retort comes a bit slowly, but it still comes.]

I don't think you have any basis for expectations of me, so it's something of a moot point, Bansai-dono. It gives me relief to know that you're not here to look for me, then -- should I call one of the waiters to serve you?

Ah, I think I have learned enough about your nature to say otherwise.

[At least in matters that are important. Where he works in this city is not one of those matters. His head tilts slightly to the side.]

[Because that would be rather amusing, to be served by him.]

[If his clenches around the tray, that's only because it's heavy. And if his face turns a bit pale, that's only because he's had so much tea today and is feeling ill.]

[Itou stares at him for a tense moment, a million things and nothing running through his mind. Finally, he breaks his gaze and turns to the counter. He's not dead and won't be for a while yet.] My duties are in another area of the café. But please have a seat, Bansai-dono, and let me fetch a menu for you.

[Because more than anything, professionalism is the best defense.]

[Amusing indeed, since Takasugi has already ordered him to leave the Shinsengumi alone, and that includes Itou as well.

No, he's simply a customer. Who just happens to be delighting in the very idea that he's making the other man uncomfortable.]

[Itou returns shortly with a menu, which takes him supreme effort not to slam on the table in front of Bansai.]

I would recommend the tea and a sandwich. The special for today is the Tomoe sandwich, which has a special, home-made shrimp cutlet cooked by the owner of the establishment.

As for the tea, a man of your bearing seems like he would enjoy gunpowder. [And he's deliberately ambiguous on what the fuck that means. He has half a mind to use real gunpowder on the man's tea, though.]
