Description: The Hikan Cafe's grand re-opening and the first Chara Misfortune Series are going on sale!

Long time(?) customers of Metokkori R will notice some changes when they step into the store today. For one, part of the wall between the store and the Hikan Tea Shop has been broken down, and there's a glass shoji-styled sliding door installed in its place. If the customers are feeling peckish they can step through the door and enter to newly renovated Hikan Cafe...after paying for what they bought, of course.

The Hikan Tea shop has been renovated to match Metokkori R's decor. The place has a cute, friendly look to it, perfect for hanging out with friends, going on a date, or for family outings.

More important than all that, though, are the brightly coloured banners hanging from the ceiling of both stores advertising the "Chara Misfortune ☠ Metokkori R presents The Watch of Death City!". The whole series includes keychains of all the Zone Leaders and second in commands of the Watch. The display case near the cashier that usually displays Keroro's latest creation (read: Gunpla) is now proudly displaying a full set of Chara Misfortune Keychains.

[She looked at him with a raised eyebrow and a smile.]

[Sets her cup down and looks at him, concerned.]

What's wrong, Roy? Really?

[Smiles. He really is!]

Got any updates for me?

[Watches him a moment with narrowed eyes, trying to determine if he's telling the truth. Deciding that he is, in spite of what he went through recently, she smiles warmly.]

All right. If you say so. [Points a finger at him jokingly.] But if I find out you're lying... [She leaves the threat hanging, but makes small motions with her hand reminiscent of when she threw the twig at him.

A beat before she turns serious.]

No. Nothing yet. I've checked in with my Zone Leaders, but I haven't found out anything around the bar. [Which might take a while due to the patrons wanting to "unwrap" her.]

I do have another theory...

[Ahaha. ;; But yes, business.]

Oh? Do tell.

It was something Gai said. He mentioned a lot of petty thefts in that district... Did the number increase before the murders? It might sound strange, but even though you might think that would make things harder for the killer; it actually makes things easier.

[Pauses.]

People's attention would be looking for someone who looks or acts like a thief, and bypass the murderer entirely. Or manpower would be diverted to certain part of the district so the rest would be left open.

[Sorry, Roy. She can't stop thinking in diversions, subterfuge, and stealth.]

[Listening, drumming his fingers thoughtfully.]

Possible. I can look into it.

[Can't hurt at this point.]

[Looks at her tea with a small frown.]

You're a good sport to put up with my theories, Roy. You know that?

"Put up with them"? [Smiles.] I think it's important to listen to whatever people might want to tell you. There is no one piece of info that doesn't end up being useful in some way in the future.

[She stares at him a moment, trying to figure out if he's just saying that. Determining he's not, she smiles slightly.]

Thanks. I never really thought of it that way. [Pauses.] Did you want something to drink? [She's ready for a refill herself--not to mention some cookies.]

Now that you mention it, I might as well try some of the things here. Eve and Keroro seem to have done a good enough job with this place.

[Aaaand who is that suave looking male walking over? The new manager of the Hikan Cafe! And, boy, does he look dashing in his work outfit! ~~Please insert sparkles somewhere around him in your imagination!~~]

Oh! It's Roy and Sheena! Well, this is certainly a pleasant surprise! You guys here for the re-opening? Or maybe the new key-chains? [He glances at Roy with a brow raised and refrains from bringing up what he is obviously thinking about.

...but, of course, he also notices Sheena's cup needs a refill.]

Some more tea, miss?

[He professionally refills her cup with the pot on the table. Yes, this one is a complete natural. And...what's this? He pulls out another cup from seemingly nowhere (okay, he was holding it behind his back) and sets it down in front of Roy, filling it up smoothly as well. ~~What'd I say about those sparkles!~~]

And there you go, sir. A nice cup of our special house blend for you as well! A very interesting choice, if I do say so myself. A nice bold flavor to go with the occasion! [Yes, indeed. In fact, it's the "Roy" house blend!]

[~~Sorry, Hughes, the sparkles will come later, after Sheena gets over her shock.~~]

Hughes! What are you doing here? And why are you refilling my tea? [She doesn't mention her own keychains, but wouldn't put it past Hughes to want a Roy one, too. (She had finally figured out this was the same Roy Mustang that Hughes sent all those message to, but has never said anything.)]

Well, it's good! [She takes a sip of her renewed drink, her surprise at him filling the cup and producing one for Roy gone.] It's strong and sweet at the same time! I like things like that. [Does she know the name of it? Maaaaayyyyyybeeee.}

Seriously, Roy, I think you'll like it.

Hughes.

[Blinking, then smiling at the offered cup. He had no idea his friend was working here.]

Thanks.

[Mm, he recognizes the smell. Of course.]

[All right, cutting the professional act!]

Hahaha! [It seems Roy has already caught on.] I work here, of course! I didn't realize the two you were here though. Otherwise, I would have stopped by earlier!

[Hughes chuckles and nods.] It's a good blend! Reminds me of when I tried to make hot cocoa in the dorms during winter at the academy without permission and spilled it everywhere, hahaha! Man, those were the days, hehe... Had to mop it up and had kitchen duty for a week after that!

And you're very welcome, Roy. Is everything all right here? You guys need anything else? Perhaps some delicious pastries to accompany your tea?

[Sheena looks from Roy to Hughes.] I had no idea you worked here, Hughes! I'm glad you found somewhere. [She had been worried about him, but as she looks around, he seems to fit right in with the place--nice and friendly.

She's also beginning to suspect that he's the one responsible for the tea she's currently enjoying--judging by his comment, and Roy's response.] By the way, I wasn't kidding about this tea. It's really good. Is there anyway I can take some home? Yeah, she almost said "Roy", but he looks uncomfortable enough as it is.] And I'm dying for some cookies. How about you, Roy?

[Gives Hughes a wry look.] How in the name of Martel did you spill hot cocoa everywhere?

Cookies sound good.

[Now watching the pair as he's taking a sip.

Mmm yes this is good. =w=]

Yep! I'm still considering taking up that other job. To kill time and all, y'know? This is definitely great, though! I love the atmosphere! And I get to work with wonderful people! And there's also all this adorable stuff here! [Are his eyes sparkling? Uh.]

Well, you could, but it'd get cold and all. It tastes best when it's freshly made! Are you sure that's what you want? Even if you reheat it, it won't taste as delicious as it does now! [Ever the salesman...] All right! I'll bring by an order of cookies for you guys then, hehe.

Oh! Hahaha! Funny thing, that. See, I was cooking water in a pot over a tiny portable stove, right? On the floor. Behind my bunk. Because I didn't want to get caught... Was stirring in the cocoa when someone suddenly dropped all their books right behind me on the floor. Needless to say, I jumped in surprised and kicked the thing over, hehe. The 2nd lieutenant on watch heard the clatter—and I may or may not have yelped too—and then I got into trouble over it, hehehe.

[Sheena glances at Roy, concerned at his abrupt change in attitude. Should she have told him about knowing Hughes? She hadn't meant to keep it a secret, but there really hadn't been an opportunity to bring him up, and she's not one of those that says: "Oh, by the way, I met a friend of yours." It's just not her nature.]

I see. Well, there are other teas I can buy in the main shop, right? [She turns her attention to her cup, a little disappointed, but it gives her an excuse to come back...if she decides to.

Despite her own sudden lack of verbosity, she can't help smiling at Hughes story, knowing immediately who the book-dropper had been. But, pragmatic Sheena is pragmatic.]

Ummm...didn't you think someone might smell the cocoa and you'd get caught anyway?

Hughes wouldn't think of something like that. And it was an accident, you know.

[Siiigh, best friend. Why do you always bring these things up in company?]

Mmmm... Yes, and no! There are some in stock right now, but they're set aside for blends and such. Keroro is working on organizing a proper influx of various teas though! You can probably expect that some time soon... Or... [...if he could put the blends into tea bags and sell those too, it would be the perfect marketing opportunity!] You know what? I'll have a talk with Keroro and see if I can work something out about you taking home this blend, okay? [Broad grin here for a brilliant plan.]

Yeah, the smell was kind of an afterthought... Erm. But only because I was too eager to drink it. Normally I would think of it. Probably. [And he just grins at Roy.] Juuuust making convo, buddy, hehehe! Besides, I don't blame you for it! You made up for it with the second attempt anyhow! [...when Roy used fancy schmancy alchemy to just heat the liquid up inside the mug instead. Insta-cocoa for alchemy users! ...but that's a trade secret!]

Oh. I see. [Looks at her cup again.] I appreciate the offer, Hughes, but I don't want you to go to any trouble. Or get into trouble because of me. [Marketing skills, she doesn't have them.]

Ah. Yeah, I can understand that. [Had she forgotten to mention her tendency to act first, think later? She looks over at Roy.]

That was pretty nice, Roy. [Yep. And Fire Cards are good for the same thing...especially for hot coffee...]

You wouldn't shut up about it.

[But no, he's mostly hedging. He had felt bad, and well. Hughes.

...Odd how they seemed to share particular memories in spite of the differences, eh?

He'll just smile at Sheena for that one, and shrug a bit before taking another sip of his drink.]

It's fine, it's fine! I won't get in trouble, hahaha. I'm the manager, anyhow. Just need to double check things with the boss is all. [Somehow, he doubts Keroro will turn down the prospect of more money.]

Hahaha! Because I had nothing else to whine about! Well, and because I got in trouble by myself, so I had to do it on my own for once, hehe. What are you complaining about though! I skimped you the better food while I was on kitchen duty! [By this point too, Hughes finds it a bit strange that Roy shares this exact same memory despite being from a different timeline. It makes him wonder what other memories are also the same...but that is for another time.]

Anyhow. I'll be right back! [He leaves to get the order of cookies and speak with Keroro.]
