Characters: Anyone going on the Excalibur Quest!
Location: Excalibur's Cave

Description: A bunch of guests set out to find the legendary sword, not knowing what's in store.



[ The terrain is rocky and uneven and the trek is no easy task. Even when the goal's in sight, it's still far away because according to the book -- just up this cliff is Excalibur's cave. Looks like some teamwork might be needed to get up there. Not everyone can have a cool, floaty skateboard like Death the Kid. ]



(OOC: This log will be divided into two parts. The exploration, which is this log, and the actual encounter with Excalibur. I'll be making some subthreads for chambers to explore, but feel free to make your own threads and mingle! If you can dream it and it's annoying enough, Excalibur probably has it in his cave.)

[Meanwhile, Anise gives it a good look before she does anything else. It wasn't anything unusual but she was figuring out how she was going to play it. The most she ever done was sing ...and that ended kind of badly.

Still, she gave a blow of air to it.

How does I play a panpipe???]

[ A sound came through the panpipe but it was sharp. It also didn't seem to have any effect either.

Whelp, time to see if it's a problem that they can fix. First thing's first... ]

Did you blow into or across the tube?

[tokunagas]

I blew into the tube but nothing happened. Clearly I need some practice!

How do you play a panpipe?

[willnotdespair]

[ Mithos chuckles a little ]

When you play a Panpipe you don't blow into the tube. So you place your mouth at the tip and blow a stream of air across it. Try with one of the middle tubes first.

[tokunagas]

[And so Anise raised her eyebrow before doing so. She blew a stream of air at the tip and a sharper sound came through]

Like that?

[willnotdespair]

[ Still sharp, but it was better than her first try. ]

Better! You still seem a bit sharp though. Uhm... try rolling the tube a little away from you.

[tokunagas]

[Patience, she does not have it. With a mumble, she rolled the tube away from her and blew it once more. Did anything happen yet?]

[willnotdespair]

[ Much better. When Anise blows through the tube it was more in tune. Not completely, but enough to where she would feel a little stamina boost within. ]

[tokunagas]

[And she notices!]

So...I guess depending on what note I play, something will probably happen? That seems simple enough...

[And she plays another note!]

[willnotdespair]

Uh-huh! I've learned that there are two things that can happen

[ As Anise plays another note it was an offensive one. Since there was nothing to attack a sound wave came out but it seems as if nothing had happened. ]

[tokunagas]

[Blink blink. She looked at the panpipe before looking around the area]

Was that suppose to happen? Or did I miss something?

[willnotdespair]

The note you played is an offensive note. It didn't do anything since there aren't any targets in the area.

[ Which, in retrospect, might have told them that there aren't any enemies they have to worry about in the room with the sword. ]

[tokunagas]

What about the sword? [She looked at it again. Seriously, was it even going to do anything at all?]

You know, I'm starting to think that he's just teasing us. He's honestly not doing anything!

[willnotdespair]

Uhmm.... I'm not sure... [ It was strange that this whole time the sword hasn't done anything. Maybe someone needs to take it out of the ground first? It would make since as swords a inanimate objects but then again... ]

Maybe we have to get closer? Or.. maybe he's sleeping. [ ... Can it sleep as a sword? ]

[tokunagas]

I could be...but it still kind of strange. [And she walked ever so closely...

Hm...

Oh screw it, she just went straight up to the sword!]

[willnotdespair]

[ If Anise wasn't holding him in her hand he would be giving her a questioning look. Instead, he'll just ask her this question: ]

What are you going to do?

[tokunagas]

I don't know. [She shrugged until she was right next to the sword.

As she kept poking it, she raised an eyebrow]

So which one should pull it first?

[willnotdespair]

Uhmm.... Why don't you try pulling it first.

[ Since he's currently in weapon form and all. ]

Do you want to handwave it since it would mean switching to the other log?

[tokunagas]

[And when she does...]

Sounds good.

[willnotdespair]

[ ... the most interesting of things happens, so to speak. Mithos was basically speechless during the whole ordeal. ]
