Characters: Anyone going on the Excalibur Quest!
Location: Excalibur's Cave

Description: A bunch of guests set out to find the legendary sword, not knowing what's in store.



[ The terrain is rocky and uneven and the trek is no easy task. Even when the goal's in sight, it's still far away because according to the book -- just up this cliff is Excalibur's cave. Looks like some teamwork might be needed to get up there. Not everyone can have a cool, floaty skateboard like Death the Kid. ]



(OOC: This log will be divided into two parts. The exploration, which is this log, and the actual encounter with Excalibur. I'll be making some subthreads for chambers to explore, but feel free to make your own threads and mingle! If you can dream it and it's annoying enough, Excalibur probably has it in his cave.)

Eh? You have holograms, but not refrigerators...? [[blink blink. Yet again adjusting his view on how her world works.

What sort of world is yours like?

[Scratches her head, embarrassed.] Yeah, well.... I know, kind of weird.

[She turns away at the question.]

Tethe'alla? Well, up until recently, it was a world that flourished at the expense of another. [And for a few minutes, she tells him about Tethe'alla and Sylvarant, and their strange history.]

[ooc: Sorry about that!]

[[rubs the back of his neck]] Sounds like something out of an RPG!

[Makes a confused sound.] Huh? What's an RPG?

[shiromadoushi]

Aa-- [[looking suddenly very sheepish]] a Role Playing Game! Where you have a character that you pretend to be and get to explore fantastic worlds on an epic quest, normally to save that world from an evil overlord that's threatening it.

That icon! Those Keywords! <3!

[ninjainviolet]

[Shakes her head.] I don't have to pretend to be someone doing that. And trust me, it was no game. [Chuckles softly.]

But you know, I know I can't be the only one who's had an adventure like that. [Her friends being here prove that.] So, what if someone who had a similar adventure told someone who makes these games?

Could it be possible that's where it came from?

A friend from another game made it :) Bonus for that being human form Shockwave there too :D

Aaa.. Sorry.

And it could be. With there being so many worlds that so many people are from, I wouldn't be surprised if other people could see into those other worlds, and wrote stories and games from the things that they saw.

[Shakes her head.] I'm the one who should apologize. I didn't mean to sound harsh, Bakura. Okay?

[Suddenly remembering she's supposed to be massaging his shoulders, she continues lightly, still avoiding that tender area.] You mean like a mind-reader or something? That's kind of frightening.

Yep. Bakura makes odd friends no matter what game his in :)

Not like that. More like... like how seers in stories can scry through mirrors and pools and see into places that you normally can't. Like if the television were showing just windows to other worlds instead of just movies!

Oh, you mean like fortune tellers? We have those back home! [She shakes her head slightly as she chuckles.] I thought those boxes were larger communicators when I first saw them, you know, but if they could look at peoples' homeworlds?

That's a scary thought....[Which is why it probably doesn't do it.]

Scary? [[a blink]] Why's that?

Can you imagine the uproar if people saw the current state of their worlds, wondering if their being there would have made a difference? Take me, for instance.

I'm the only summoner that exists between either world--what if I saw something that could have been prevented by me being there? Also, BREW pulls from different timelines. I know people who came from my world's past and one who came from my future. I don't think it would be a good thing to see what happens before it does...

[She currently has to watch what she says to those from her past now as it is.]

Aren't people returned from the same point they were taken from? Else someone who came from your future would have known you had vanished, right?

[Thinks a moment.]

That's true. But currently, I'm here, and I doubt time has stopped on my world, so it just keeps going. When I go back, anything that happened while I was gone will change.

That might be another reason those television things don't show us our homes.

[shiromadoushi]

I think... it may not be that time stops when you aren't there... but there are people here from all different times as well as different worlds. I'd think BREW would be able to send people back to the exact moment it took them from, right? So that no one would notice.

[ninjainviolet]

[She looks at him.]

This is kind of confusing, isn't it? I mean, we know BREW takes people from different times and puts them back, but maybe there's a future where we aren't there, and everyone doesn't know about it because we are put back at the exact moment we left.

[Is she making sense?]

[shiromadoushi]

Like it creates an alternate timeline, you mean?

Yes! Exactly! I wasn't sure what it was called, but that's it! An alternate timeline. I seriously think it's possible, since BREW takes people from different times.

[shiromadoushi]

It could be, un... I guess we'd have to find someone who went back home and returned with all their memories to tell if it was that way or not.

[ninjainviolet]

I'm not sure that would work, since BREW can take people from different times, then put them right back where they were taken from.

So, anything that might have happened with them gone, wouldn't happen.

You know, like that phrase, "If I could go back and do something differently, I would?" [She hopes she's making sense. The whole time thing is really hard to figure out.]

[shiromadoushi]

[[He's starting to look utterly befuddled and clueless, so even if she were making sense, he's not making sense of it.]]

But they're not going back before they left... I don;t think...

[He's not the only one. In fact, Sheena's starting to give herself a headache from trying to figure this out. Excuse her a second Bakura, while she drops her head, slightly nudging yours.]

Oh. Sorry about that. My head's starting to hurt over all of this. Maybe we should just stop trying to figure all of this out.

[shiromadoushi]

[[Almost startles at the nudge, not having expected it at all]] Aaaa-- un, maybe! Too many things we can't figure out or even put into words, ne?

[ninjainviolet]

[She hadn't met to hit him in the head, so she's as startled as he is.] I didn't hurt you, did I? I've been told I have a hard head. [A joke.]

Yeah, exactly. I'm not too good with stuff like that, anyway, so I'm not even sure why I even tried to understand it.

[shiromadoushi]

Aaa, no, no it's all right, just wasn't expecting it! [[assures with a soft laugh]]

And it only makes sense to try and figure out things like that when you're in the middle of them, I think. Even if you don't know anything about the situation... It just gets a little confusing to try sometimes!
