Characters: Clare Edwards.
Location: Either the Training Grounds (Morning), or Shinbusen's Gym (Afternoons)
Rating: G For the most part.
Time: Morning Train/Afternoons between the 20th and 22nd Details within.
Description: Clare set out feelers for people to help her train and practice, naturally she should, well, train and practice.
Notes: This can either be RANDOM ENCOUNTER or we can Handwave they set-up a time and place to meet. I'm not very picky either way. If they contacted her in her last network post (Here) we should probably go with designed meeting. Just lemme know which, and which day (cause Clare will be moodier while the Norway Mission is happening).
Clare scouted out the morning fields to find a spot a bit more secluded than where everyone else was. She could still hear the others training, and she figured this location was secure enough she shouldn't have to worry too much about being disturbed while she trained.
Save, of course, for people that knew where she was.
It isn't she didn't like people, she did! She just... one thing she's learned in school is that being made a fool of is always better with as small an audience as possible. And since her attempts at various combat related things were foolish enough, she didn't need to make it worse with quite so many people to see. She ridiculed herself enough, she didn't need others doing it too. Still, it wasn't like she could work on her own forever, she needed help. Just... help would mean they don't make fun of her when she screws up. She hoped.
----------
Clare launched as many punches she could in quick succession on the bag. Noting how it reacted differently from her rights, which even if she didn't punch as hard cause a bit more impact compared to her left hand. This, of course, was a matter of physics. Her metal right hand had more mass to it, but she could punch at the same speed as her ordinary left hand. Thus, more power behind the strikes.
She liked it here, it was a better place for her to practice. Quieter than the Training Grounds, warmer too. Although that might become a con as spring and summer arrive. Of course it wasn't a large enough space for all the Guests of Shinbusen, so it wasn't of much use for the guests if they gathered en masse. She let a few people know she trained her after lunch, but before work. A nice change from the training in the morning, plus there were showers here. No walking home all sweaty and gross.

"Uhm. Okay. I mean, I gotta do it some time, right?" His lips pressed together into a pout at the offer of the hand, and he glanced back up at her again obviously bothered by something. "We need to hold hands?"
no subject
She'd resonated both ways, as a person or as a weapon. Either way the main requirement was contact. "Otherwise you could put your hand on my shoulder or something. We have to be touching, no way around that."
no subject
Rolling his shoulders a little he reached out slowly, turning his head away whilst he wriggled his fingers in her direction. "Nah-- just-- let's do it like this yeah?" He muttered. Holding her shoulder would just be weird.

Clare didn't hesitate putting her hand in his, "Now try to feel for my energy. Focus on it, then we can try to match wavelengths." Clare was already feeling for Naruto's spiritual power, and working to match her's to his. Her generally being meek and people pleasing worked out at least for finding a wavelength that worked.

His hand totally didn't twitch when he felt her hand in his-- realising belatedly that he hadn't held hands with anyone before. Good luck finding that power whilst he's so busy thinking about how warm your hand is.
"Er-- Energy right. Like-- the soul yeah?"
no subject
"Just concentrate on your own heartbeat and try to find your soul wavelength, then look for mine." She figured by the time he was there she'd have already molded her wavelength to match his. His soul wasn't fighting her off like Obito's did, so it was just that this was new. Weird given they are both ninjas.

Only to open them a little as she spoke up. "I know!" He barked back, perhaps too quick to be kind. Not that he could help it. He was under a lot of pressure here! How holding hands was harder than gathering chakra in the heat of a world altering battle probably wasn't something that could be worked out.
He was quiet after a few moments though, breathing slow and deep. Practice seemed to have paid off-- but he was stuck at finding his soul. Unsure how to manipulate it any more than that.
no subject
But he did find it, which was enough for Clare to work with, feeling the rhythm and power of his soul and doing what she could to match it. Naruto soul was ridiculously strong so Clare figured trying to keep up with him would knock her on her ass after a relatively short amount of time but it was the only plan she had.
Clare's soul should feel uncomfortable at first, until she matches up to Naruto's wavelength pretty flawlessly. Instead of speaking out loud she speaks through their resonance, "Okay, that was the first hard part. But you're doing fine. Your soul's a bit rambunctious, so I'll probably tire out trying to keep up. Try to calm your soul down and not be so... energetic."
This would be the hard part, matching up to Naruto was easy. Teaching him how to do something she just... could, wasn't going to be a cakewalk.

It was strange though, this connection between them, although he felt it solidly it didn't feel quite right at all. He couldn't tell if it was weak or strong, even though the comparison to Kurama should have been right there he didn't make the connection, whether out of thoughtlessness or sheer idiocy-- well, maybe time would tell?
She was speaking though, and that wasn't much of a shock either, in fact that felt a lot like when he'd spoken to Kurama and the other tailed beasts and their hosts. This was a breeze! Now for the hard part.
"Er-- Sorry about that." He said back, breaking out into a smile on the outside that reflected in his energy. He wasn't entirely sure he could calm down though. Meditating tended to help, but aside from that. He just kept breathing slowly.
"What happens now, anyway?"

"Now I'm going to break resonance and lower frequency to something closer where we should be. You'll still be able to feel my soul but it won't be as comfortable until you work out how to lower your frequency to match mine," Clare was about to lower her frequency when she quickly added, "We're doing this in stages, we'll just see how far we can go."
Clare broke the rather haphazard connection they had and lowered her frequency a smidge, not far enough to cause burns or any damage but enough Naruto would have to try and manipulate his soul to match her. Even if the connection would still be heavily favoring his standard wavelength over her own, it would mean Naruto would have to work on the hard part: manipulating his soul.

"Lower the--" He stopped thinking when she kept on going, trying to focus on listening to the words to be able to understand just what was being asked of him. It certainly wasn't comfortable, and he twitched a few times on the outside, lips pressing into a pout. He didn't say a word, just tried hard to stay focussed - teeth finally gritting together when he couldn't quite manage to get his frequency to drop to her own-- except he supposed maybe realising that they were on different levels was something at least?
"It's really hard." Er-- way to state the obvious.

She figured it best to stay quiet and let Naruto think about it. She could tell he wasn't comfortable. She wasn't either, the point was to not hold resonance like this. But if she made it comfortable Naruto wouldn't learn anything, and if she wavered her soul too much Naruto wouldn't have an easy target to find.
She briefly considered Naruto might be trying to speak through resonance, which she can't hear as the link is thready from the training... but figured he'd start making noise if he was having trouble. There was also plan B of tossing themselves down the stairs, see if the terror got Naruto to match her better. ...Clare will just want to avoid that plan, if at all possible.

Years sharing a body with the soul of Kurama would probably pay off well though. Just not yet. He hadn't quite managed to marry the two ideas up. Kurama had been a part of him for so long that thinking of him as a separate soul or entity hadn't ever been easy. From the understanding that Kurama was the reason the people of his village had hated him, to knowing there was a nine-tailed demon housed inside, to learning how to control it still didn't leave him with the clear sense that it was another soul one he had felt within him in those moments when he'd meditated to reach a state to achieve Sage mode, at the waterfall of truth, whilst taming the Kyuubi.
A burst of strength in an attempt to find the same level as her made things that much more complex.

He had accidentally told all of Death City that could glance over the network he had shared his body with something else. Clare figured that might help him if they had to sync up in some way for that to work out. Still, discomfort was not exactly a thing she was used to, and the stress was getting to her.
She might have to call it quits soon if Naruto can't make progress quickly.

This was looking like it might take multiple sittings, in fact... she was sure of it. The question was more would they figure this out before she and Obito figured out resonance.
