[Event] Invasion!

Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

"They're not going to stop until we destroy their heads or something like that," Mickey said. "I saw one of the other guests here posting about that. I think she's fought these things before."

"Yes. I vaguely remember hearing that post."

She had been preoccupied with a spider at the time and missed most of it. It was enough with the zombies stumbling back to take a shot at their heads, sending them down.

"We might want to try moving away from them," Mickey said. "True using my Weapon ability... though I've never used it in an actual fight yet."

"Well, we can give it a try."

Amaterasu was able to dash through the zombies and reach a clearing easily. Of course, the zombies were moaning and following after them. She just snorted and watched them, unsure exactly what to do now.

Mickey concentrated, concentrating bits of his soul wavelength into the tip of his body. "Point me at the nearest zombie and help shape my wavelength into a projectile!" he explained.

Mickey's ability might not be that fast, but with the Zombie's not caring about self preservation, they weren't going to have to worry about missing as long as Amaterasu's aim was true.

"Alright!"

Amaterasu turned the keyblade and pointed it at the nearest zombie, her wavelength shifting a bit to help shape Mickey's. What form projectile was the only thing she had to wonder.

Mickey concentrated, and sure enough a single small blast of white soul energy shot out of the keyblade towards the zombie. It wasn't moving that fast, but just like Mickey was thinking, the creature made no move to dodge it, the blast hitting it in the head and knocking it to the ground.

Now there were just the rest of the zombies heading towards them to take care of.

Well, that certainly was handy. Amaterasu grinned and turned the keyblade on each and every zombie albeit slowly until they got the hand of this. Shot after shot, but she did check on Mickey.

"How are you holding up?"

Mickey took a deep breath, or whatever passed for a deep breath while he was in his weapon form. "I'm... I'm alright. I can still manage to maintain our resonance here. For now, anyway..."

[motherofthesun]

"I don't want you to become exhausted..."

She doesn't need a weapon to keep fighting.

[kingofdisney]

"I'll be fine! If we don't stop these things who knows how much damage they'll do!"

[motherofthesun]

"Oh yes. At the rate they're going..."

She aimed the Keyblade again and fired at several more zombies.

Mickey concentrated, feeling his wavelength shoot out a few more times before he realized that something was wrong. It was getting a bit harder to maintain the resonance now. He wasn't sure how much longer he could even be able to focus on the resonation now. How could that few shots actually cause him to be this... tired and addled?

[motherofthesun]

Amaterasu felt the link getting weaker as she fired and eventually, just stopped and attacked with her fangs and claws again. There were only a few left and she managed to take them down, peering around.

"... Mickey?"

"I'm alright," he managed to squeak out. "It just... took a lot more out of me than I thought it was going to do."

At least he as still able to stay connected with Amaterasu, but Mickey was definitely going to need to work on his stamina if he was going to get any better at this.

[motherofthesun]

Amaterasu whined a bit. She was worried about Mickey, but they had to press on.

"Let's keep from using any of your abilities right now and give you time to recover."

[kingofdisney]

"Sorry about that..."

Mickey let out a mental sigh, letting Amaterasu continue to hold him as they moved through the area.

"It's alright, Mickey."

They all needed to work on their stamina again here. Oh BREW...

"Are you holding up alright?"

If he was starting to get exhausted, he wasn't sure how much longer Amaterasu could last as well. Hopefully they wouldn't get cornered by more of the zombies once they finally did fall to exhaustion.

[motherofthesun]

"Yes... I'll have to take a break soon enough though."

She didn't have her limitless bounds of energy here, but she slept enough for several people over when she could. She still had some reserved.

"Alright then. Let's finish taking care of these guys!"

"Just what I had in mind."

Mickey concentrated, focusing on making sure his resonation stayed solid as Amaterasu continued attacking at the nearby zombies.
