[Event] Invasion!

Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

Teresa considered the word for a long time, trying to decide what it meant in relation to what she knew about her own world. She examined the wings, the tail and the claws of the other woman before nodding her head in acceptance. It seemed to her that being of the non-human variety was beneficial to them both.

"I can't say that I've ever heard of your kind," she replied with a shrug. "Does your kind defend humans or just exist in the shadows to them?"

Defend humans? If she wasn't putting up a nice facade for now, Demona would have rambled on about how those treacherous and disgusting maggots should all perish, and how her plans pretty much consisted on doing so.

However.

"The latter. Humans are not fond of what they don't understand." that was an understatement, really.

Nodding in agreement, she knew first hand about humans being distrustful and often times aggressive to things that they didn't understand. Funny, they were even like that with creatures that had once been human but sold away. Sometimes, she really did wonder why she had served so long complacently.

She was not so gentle with her opinion, the madness loosening her tongue. "Some humans are nothing more than foolish piles of waste that need only to be removed," she said with that same pleasant smile on her face. "Amazing they survive at all."

The gargoyle smirked, amused at those words. So it seemed she wasn0t the only one, was she; others knew how the Humans were, they knew what it had to be done.

"I wonder. You say such things, but yet here you are, among them."

Teresa looked around as if realizing for the first time that she was still among the humans. She considered the words carefully before shrugging her shoulders. "Old habits, I suppose."

She wasn't certain if they would change either. "Besides, years of training forbade me from killing them takes its toll in general circumstances. I'm forced to live as a human, which is... strange."

"So you've become complaisant? What a shame." it really was. No one should go along with Humans. Demona too has lived many years among humans and she eventually came to trust them at some point, but that been a huge mistake she would never do again. And so she no longer would happily live with them.

Teresa shot the winged woman a look of amusement. "I don't see you peeling their skin off of them either," she replied casually even as she looked off beyond the trees again. "Unless you plan on doing that, I hardly think you are in a position to judge."

She was indeed planning that. But while she is setting up her plan, she isn't helping them, is she? "Who knows? Maybe I just talk big. But one thing is certain, I am not helping them, am I?"

"Nor are you hindering them," she replied simply before turning her back on the other woman. "If all you are is talk, I see no point in wasting my time here any longer. I need to find my Weapon," she said coolly, gesturing with a hand to indicate that she was leaving.

"If you ever become more than talk, look me up," she said before moving out of the area.

The gargoyle simple laughed softly "If you believe a loose tongue will suffice, when your actions are against you, then you must be quite naive." there was no way Demona was about to trust whatever she truly felt and wanted to do with the Humans to someone she just met, was fighting with the Humans, and even had a partner, no matter how bitter she sounded towards them.

"I bid you farewell" the female moved to a tree, climbing it and with that, gaining enough impulse to glide away.
