[Event] Invasion!

Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

“That’s not what I meant!” did undead even want to eat someone like… that? Who knew, but Saya didn’t want to ask about it, nor did she want to be sure if that would happen or not “There is a chance they can infect you, if they bite you.” Being big meant a lot more places to be bitten, and while she wasn’t sure if they could infect or not, Saya accepted that as a fact until proven otherwise.

"You have proof that these creatures are bound with infection?" Tassadar asked even as he swiped out to attack a zombie nearing his position. Lurching forward, he kept his thoughts with that of the human while his large foot reached up to clamp on the zombie's chest and forced it down to the ground.

He wasn't a stranger to infection. The zerg virus wasn't discriminatory when it came to what species it wished to infect. Yet something in one world did not mean that it was the same here.

"I said there is a chance, not that I'm certain." Saya gripped on her bat tighter, watching the ghouls approaching and reading herself to fight them off. "I can assure you, however, I'm not willing to try that theory out."

He had no intention of testing her theory, but that also didn't mean that he wouldn't fight more cautiously either. Still, that begged the question of the teacher he had once seen within the city as well. The thought worked its way through the templar's mind as his claws found their way through another zombie's throat.

"There is a Shibusen teacher here at times that is what you classify as a zombie," Tassadar thoughtfully mentioned as he stepped back to note the few coming up from behind. "While he was far more sentient than these mindless dolls, I do not believe that he was infectious." Why would they allow something with such a danger to the population to be in such close proximity to innocent civilians, after all.

"I don't think he is the same at all. Not only he is sentient, but he doesn't crave flesh nor fits in any other characteristic that would fit one of them." Saya knew about him and she had a hard time accepting the fact that one of them was so close, but after revising all she knew regarding them, she really couldn't consider Sid one of them, could she?

"By what I've gathered, he is simply a walking corpse that retained his humanity." or part of it. Retained enough to differentiate him from those undead attacking the city right now.

Then perhaps these two were walking corpses that haven't maintained their humanity, but much like Sid, they were not infectious. Tassadar didn't voice his thoughts though, and simply nodding his head to show that he understood. He wasn't quite certain what to make of these creatures, or if they were the threat this terran female said them to be. Either way he would continue on with caution.

"Then it would be prudent to destroy them before they can feast on the flesh of the living," Tassadar said as he picked up one that was nearby and swung around to toss it at a small group heading in his direction.

Saya winced a bit. Well, at least he was quite strong, so he could handle himself. Probably. It's not her job to save everyone and people should know and decide what to do by themselves. She nodded after, gripping on her bat.

"Be careful." she wasn't going to face them, not yet at least. She had to find her partner first.

"En Taro Adun," he offered while using himself to block her retreat. Tassadar would continue fighting regardless of the risk, as he couldn't allow the few he had grown close to face the possible threat these creatures posed, especially not with such a large number of them invading the city.
