[Event] Invasion!
Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!
The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.
Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.
Their masterful plan has begun!

If Sai is trying to block out other distractions, Takuto's wavelength is probably doing the trick. Takuto holds him towards the enemy with his remaining practice sword out in front, aware that their resonance isn't anywhere near stable enough for him to rely on Sai alone. (And besides, he's a natural dual-wielder, so he knows better than to toss his other weapon, however ineffective it is, aside.)]

There is no time to dwell on it though, butting all thought into the battle]
maybe kissing does help.... XP
He stares down an approaching ant defiantly, feeling powered up.
Except... what is he supposed to do with Sai?]
Sai, help me out here--I don't know how to wield a paintbrush!
maybe lol
Draw it on a wall or the floor or something, like you are doodling something. Something that would attack them, I usually use something like lions as a standard. It doesn't have to be detailed, just enough so that you can see what its meant to be.

But there's no ink!!
[There's a puddle of something that is probably guts from a bug or maybe something that leaked out from a zombie, but he doesn't think it's a good idea to put Sai in that.
To top things off, he feels like their resonance is dropping. Maybe it's because Takuto is so unused to wielding something other than a sword and his uncertainty is piercing through, or maybe it's because he feels like he's losing the feel of Sai's wavelength within the strength of his own. Of course, it could always be both.]

[Oh dear, maybe they cannot resonate as well as Sai had thought. Hopefully it comes through, otherwise the two of them are going to be in big trouble.]
no subject
Well, Takuto's been known to give weapons a particularly nasty electric shock.
He presses the tip of the brush against a cobblestone as the eerily large insects loom closer.]
/was out D:
Apparently it was working well enough because the brush was indeed producing ink on the ground]

sobb im such a flake sry
Do another, it you can handle two.
[The one that's there is successfully immobalizing one of the ants, but there are still a couple more to be taken care of.]
/patpat, it's okay
What will happen if I can't handle two?
[He's pretty sure he'll be able to--after all, dual-wielding is his specialty. But he figures it's safer to ask, just in case.]
<3
[Which is to say of course you can if you just focus on it.]

How long do they last?
[He's wondering if he should keep watching them closely, or if he can start attacking the others with his remaining practice sword. He doesn't necessarily feel like he's controlling the artwork--and calling his hurried brushstrokes 'art' is a little presumptuous--but he can sense them in a weird way.]
no subject
I am not sure these are strong enough for that though one on one.
[So unless a whole bunch of them arrive and start ganging up on them, they artworks should stay and fight for a few more minutes at least.]
no subject
Is this... is this how you fought back home?

This is... really different than what I normally do.

But there's only two lions and... a whole line of ants is coming their way.]
Sai, are you feeling up for a challenge?
no subject
[Although he has the feeling that he already knows]
no subject
[He's staring out at the line of ants marching towards them. That one lion really isn't doing so well, and juggles Sai and his practice sword to his opposite hands to keep the practice sword on the side he's likely to need it most.]
no subject
[So that's what he is planning to do...]
no subject
[Any moment now, and he's going to have to start dealing with some of the ants with his practice sword, and it's going to be a lot harder to draw a bird while he's fighting.]
no subject
As long as we resonate well enough we should be able to produce one that is a good six or seven feet in size. But nothing bigger, and only one.
[There is a pause]
I am willing to try if you are.
