Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!
The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.
Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.
Their masterful plan has begun!

Don't forget you, Kenshin. You're hurt badly...--but let's get away from here okay? There's too mu--uhh--.
[And it's like a dam is unlocked. Like a lock being picked, or the sliding of a door long closed unable to be shut any longer. The voices. The pictures. The pulsing sound in her throat, traveling like hot fire in her body so badly that Kaoru's hand drops like a weight from near his face, almost spasming as her body began to quiver, first slowly, then violently in his arms.
The dark blue that frames her irises is more pronounced, the color paler, the pupil has shrunken. The black blood has no reason to hold back now that her precious person is safe. And it's with this that Kaoru becomes lost.
Like a little girl alone in the dark, her mind plummets into a state of panic.]

H-He's ....he's right there! [her voice is strangled and her eyes are dilated. a strangled, choking sob.]
Don't leave me alone--Otou-san---Otou-san! [the girl's arm shoots out into the air, her voice cracking as she stares with crazed eyes at nothing. the man in front of her is solemn and sad and shaking his head]
I'm trying my best! But I'm alone I can't do this by myself! They're after the papers!

Kaoru, you're not alone. [despite how worried he is, he forces his voice to remain calm] I'm with you... and the dojo is safely yours forever, as am I.

[He keeps his head down, brushing his lips against her forehead, not moving for a long moment until he thinks she's as calm as she can be for the moment. He doesn't even think about putting her down; even if she could walk, there's no telling when the madness will flare again, as long as it's still within her.
And while he's no medic, he's not an idiot in regards to injuries, either. He can see she may be wounded even more badly than he is, and they both need to be treated as quickly as they can; he'll have to put her down if another monster attacks unless he wants to run with her, and he's not sure he's physically capable of outrunning giant bugs any more than he finds it a good idea to let her go.
They have to move, fast, for her sake.]
