[Event] Invasion!
Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!
The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.
Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.
Their masterful plan has begun!

[Dave Strider][Streets/Afternoon][Open to Terezi]
He quickly went through the streets, taking down whatever he ran into with the cheap sword he had bought. He can hear his heart beating in his ears loudly. The black blood was still in his system, and he was doing his best to pretend it wasn't. He wasn't scared. Fuck that shit. He's been through worst. Okay, so giant poisonous spiders and acid spitting ants kind of go in the worst department, but that's also besides the point. Dave could have easily contacted Terezi through his communicator. But Dave has long forgotten that it was sitting safely in his pocket. Of course he'd forget about something like this in such a critical moment.
Dave continued down the street, looking for his partner. "Pyrope, this is a shitty time to play hide n' seek with me."

She finally, finally finds him, though. Or, well, hears him. All of the other odors permeating the city are making things sort of murky, but at least her ears still work. "Dave!"

He stops running, as soon as he hears Terezi's voice call him though. He recognizes her voice and he looks over, spotting her. "Sup Pyrope. Where you been? I mean, more crappy zombies and giant animals for me, but shit was getting kind of dull. Listening to myself talk is hardly as interesting unless someone else is listening to me too." You better just tell him to shut up, because he's seriously going to keep rambling. "Did you know that slicing through spiders and ants is ten times more gross then just stepping on them? I mean, seriously, that shit is so nasty. Not in the sicnasty way. Just nasty."

"So you up for this? Once we start, we're going the whole ten yards," he asks, his tone never wavering. It was a legitimate question though. He knew he wasn't in the best state of mind right now. He knew that she knew.

"What was I thinking? Asking Pyrope whether she was ready or not? Maybe my brain got a little scrambled along with completely put on its side. Just make sure I don't do anything stupid. You're in charge of Strider should always look cool department." He let the sword drop with a clank. "I'm ready."

Luckily, it only takes a second for her to transform. There is pretty much no way they can't win this! They are just way too awesome to fail.

He takes hold of her. He's used her before and she's becoming quite familiar. Their souls don't resonate quite as well as it should, but he's pretty sure that's because of him at the moment. He's more then annoyed that their resonance isn't quite up to par from what it should be, but he's sure that with everything going on, it only made sense. "Spiders, zombies, and ants, oh my. Looks like we got our work cut out for us. Any tips on making this more interesting?" In before you say imagine all spiders are Vriska.
no subject
Jegus, do I have to do all the work?
no subject
"Haha, very funny. This is a partnership. You stab things, I swing you around so you can stab things." Or something along those lines. That sounded a lot better in his head and not said out loud though. "So, got any good ideas to make this a little more fun?" At least he's trying to make this not seem as bad as it probably is, while they take down the array of undead and other creatures.
