Maybe, maybe not.

Characters: Lucy & Sougo.
Location: Casualty Communal, Lucy's room.
Rating: PG-PG-13 for S&M.
Time: After Sougo's network post/demand here.
Description: So he's going on a mission and though she's filled to the brim with mixed feelings, she wants to send him off with a smile ... and cocoa.

Lucy placed two cups of hot cocoa down on the table, blowing on the tips of her fingers to get rid of the heat that was left clinging to them. Heading towards the fridge, she pulled out some whipped cream, absent-mindedly placing them on the counter next to the cups before closing the fridge with her foot. “So I only need to add this…” and she scanned the room momentarily, before the sprinkles came within sight, “and that!”

She skipped over towards it, quickly taking it from the table and sparing a glance towards the clock feature on her communicator. Thinking it was about time, she made her way back to the kitchen, sprinkles in hand and completely ready to add the finishing touches.

Sougo did say she was the best at it (actually, he just said he did it better, but skewing one or two facts didn’t hurt, right), after all and she wasn’t going to disappoint.

There was a small quirk of his lips after her offer. She really was a nice girl -- a nice, easily manipulated girl. And to be honest, Sougo wasn't used to having that in his life. Mostly the girls were spineless or....Kagura. Or his sister. And Lucy seemed to have a lot of his sister's traits which made him attach himself to her...but at the same time her own differences that attracted him as well. Idly, he wondered if he was using her as a grieving tool to get over Mitsuba's death.

He approached Lucy, standing in front of her. This was goodbye for a little while, right? And he didn't know what to say. He'd walked over with the intention of hugging her, but now that he got there it seemed a bit awkward. This wasn't in the context of their date. No holiday magic or festival festivities were in the works to propel actions forward -- so Sougo was stuck.

He reached upward -- giving her a little ruffle to her hair (good M, good M), "I'm counting on it. Don't disappoint me, alright?"

"You better be pretty loud. Europe's far away. I'll have a hard time hearing you otherwise." He shoved his hand in the pocket of his slacks, abandoning the idea of the hug. Things were easier like this. Less complicated, anyway. Sougo turned away from her.

"But your default is pretty loud -- so imagine how much more noisy you can be if you actually try," he had faith in her to withhold her end as well. He didn't turn back around, simply offered a single handed wave before making his way to the door.
