Training time! [OPEN]

Characters: OPEN
Location: Training grounds near the park. Part of it’s an obstacle course, too.
Rating: Gen, hopefully.
Time: Morning, October 28 and various dates
Description: Training time. This happens every morning, 6am to 9am, but are mostly handwaved. Your character should know about it, one way or another. A log is put up every month or two, but you are free to assume that your characters attend every morning if they want to. Today's training will double for either days. Coordination post here.





Breakdown of batches and groups are as follows:
Batch 1: Beginners under the age of fifteen. Taught by Prussia, Celty and Fakir.
Batch 2: Adult beginners. Under Ping (Mulan), Saber, Might Gai.
Batch 3: Intermediate fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Germany. Please see list of random sparrers.
Batch 4: Experienced fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Germany. Please see list of random sparrers.
Weapon transformation: How to Change into Your Weapon Form. Spirit, Yuuri, China.
Soul Perception: If you still don’t know by now-- Any of the Soul Perception people. Azusa.
Partner training: How to Work Together as Partners. Kazu. Genesis. Tassadar and Nataku. Maka and Soul.
Weapons handling training: Rock Lee.
Shooting range: How to shoot things 101. Train Heartnet.
Medics: All the medical people.
Audience: Because some people just want to watch.
Watch: An area closed off to the Watch members who need any sort of special training.
Feel free to throw up new threads for characters, especially those who want to try their partnership. Breakfast is served as usual!

[Souji has been wandering around, watching other people, but not doing much of it himself on account of it being considered rude to seriously maim sparring partners. He stops to watch when he spots a familiar form, idly wondering if Takasugi's figured out what sort of weapon he is, yet.]

Takasugi-san! It's good to see you made it today. Has training gone well?

[Given his mood, Souji's pretty sure that's a 'yes.']

[claps hands together, obviously happy for him]

If it wouldn't be a bother, then yes.

[Yeah, Takasugi was INCREDIBLY cheerful.]

Take my hand.

[He reached out with a smile.]

[He laughs and reaches out his hand]

[And once their hands are clasped together, there's just the briefest trace of a crookedness to Takasugi's smile right before the latter shifts, becoming a silhouette of ash in the shape of a boy.

That form doesn't last for too long - only seconds after, its's shifting again, becoming what looks like a sword in Okita's hand. Then, the ash seems to scatter, blown off by some invisible wind and away from the surface of the sword.

It's an odd blade: a katana in shape and weight, yet the blade is matte black and the edge is serrated like a saw. There is a wolf etched close to the hilt on both sides of the blade, crouching low with a soundless growl. The working on the pommel is evergreen.

Takasugi's now smiling up at Okita through the reflection of the blade.]

It didn't take as long as I thought it would.

[And Souji is grinning back at the reflection while admiring the younger man's weapon form]

Goodness. Takasugi-san is a very flashy weapon.

[But a good one. He's sure he'll be reliable, and as he adjusts his grip and falls into an easy defensive stance, he thinks this will be a partnership worth cultivating]

...As was this matter of resonation. There was another presence in the back of his mind now. Souji's, was it?]

Yes, but it's not a bad thing.

[Souji's been somewhat wary of the whole meister/weapon system, and hasn't found it very natural at all up to this point. But he an Takasugi seem to be a good match, wavelength wise--at least superficially.]

[He didn't mind. It might help him settle into this... being a Weapon thing. Takasugi isn't the kind who'd suffer through being handled by just anyone.]

[Selendis has finished most of her usual morning routines, and recognizes the same human she'd spoken to during the Watch meeting. She's not certain what he's doing, so she approaches a bit cautiously, not wanting to interrupt him.]

[It's only after he finishes one form and decides to lower his guard that he notices her presence.]

[Immediate bow. Respect where respect is due, in his eyes!]

I am here every morning for that purpose. [Usually sparring with others, because her partner likes to run off and avoid transforming in public.] The more that attend, the better. Otherwise we will never win this war.

[Selendis waits for him to set the weapon down, shifting into a defensive stance in the meantime.]

[Nods, studies the other a moment, then moves in for a straight with his right fist. He wants to test that defense.]

[The direct attack is a bit predictable, but they need to start somewhere. Selendis brings one arm up to deflect the blow with her bracer, shifting her weight so his own momentum will push him to the side. She's not going to strike until she gets an idea of his skill level.]

[It succeeds, mostly, but Takasugi recovers fast, fast enough to position himself for a proper (and strong) roundhouse kick.

Seems as though he's used to striking in quick succession.]
