[OPEN] Earthquake Event - Clinic
Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City - Clinic
Rating: Varied
Time: January 22 onward
Description: Any disaster naturally will have its set of injured. OOC post here.
The barn that was the clinic had thankfully been spared any major damage, and apart from its furniture and supplies in disarray, it seemed to function without much difficulty. There was the pervading stench of chemical in the air due to broken bottles of medicine, but the open windows would soon deal with that. More importantly, the clinic was ready for its slew of patients, and bustled with its business more than ever.

Ah... it appears so.

Damn it...! W-we're almost there, do you think you can walk?
[You'd have to be pretty convincing, Naoto, as he was ready to carry you the rest of the way. In fact, he was all ready stooping a bit and draping her good arm over his shoulders.]
no subject
[She's moving away from him, not wincing at all. Sweat is forming under the brim of her cap though.]
no subject
[Not entirely convinced, but he wasn't about to push the issue. There were bound to be aftershocks, but not so soon after the main event... but in a world so strange one could never be certain. He was upright and moving along, not liking the way water was bubbling up from a lot of the cracks that had formed in the ground. Busted pipelines... perfect. He remained within arm's reach should anything go awry.]
Damn it, I really hope this was a normal quake and not somethin' fishy.
[He was used to quakes. Japan had a lot of them, but the city's tiered shape didn't seem all too prepared.]
no subject
It could honestly be either at this point. Earthquakes wouldn't be common for this region; they commonly strike the coast, but when the plate's shift is strong enough, the energy spreads down the fault line. We're not the only ones in its path. Another city is probably could worse shape right now.
[Though, if it was the Witches doing... another city could still be affected and left in worse disarray.]
no subject
We'll probably get word from Shibusen if a neighboring city's gonna need a hand.
[Hopefully. Maybe. The idea of ignoring them completely didn't sit well with him.]
no subject
If not Shibusen, it will be outside news requesting for aid.
[They generally focus on kishin and witch-related problems first here. A little busy watching her step and sinking into the rising water.]
no subject
Shit... Naoto-kun, it's gonna get a little deeper up ahead. The bandages won't stay dry if we go on like this!
[He was mostly healed, so he was okay getting a little soaked. Kanji lowered.]
Get on. I'll deal with the water.
no subject
...
[Obviously perturbed, she sighs under her breath and glances around before getting on Kanji. She can't latch on with both arms making this all the more troublesome and ridiculous.]
no subject
Look, I know, a'right? 's just for a minute!
[His arms hooked beneath her legs as he stood, upper body slightly leaned to make up for the one arm. Kanji proceeded onward, took the first right he could, and hoped like hell the water wouldn't get too high before they got the hell out of here, even if it was all ready lapping at his calves...]
no subject
... Don't tell anyone about this.

[A left turn, a right, another left at a steady pace. He was growing pretty damn tired of the blocked passageways... Death City really was like a maze. He slid a bit on one bit of cobble, but he recovered easily enough. Kanji took one more right turn, passing through alleyways that really looked identical to each other.]
[His pace began to slow as the water level passed his knees, but he just growled and stubbornly trudged right on through. This path was blocked as well, but he'd had enough detours. He pulled his focus in, then pushed it forward. Broken concrete and brick debris was blasted forward with that Soul Descent, clearing the way before he went through.]
'Bout damn time! [He had no ideas how many times he'd tried that to no avail. He stopped where the path broke off, looking left and right.]
Uh... was it left or right? Damn it, I thought I knew my way around by now!
no subject
[Quietly, she stands, but then shivers a bit when heuses his soul ability. That was a bit startling.]
Go left.
no subject
[Kanji managed to stifle a sound in his throat - holy crap, this water was cold - but managed up the stairs to street level just fine. He checked for people.]
Coast is clear.
[And he dropped to a knee on the dry cobble, releasing her legs as he fought off the urge to sneeze.]
no subject
[Finally, when he cleared and took a knee, she slid off, her legs shaking as she finally put weight on them again]
... Thank you, Kanji-kun.
no subject
[He stood and tried his hardest to ignore the way his shoes squished as he moved on. The clinic was just ahead, and by the looks of things, the place all ready rather active, others escorting in wounded or dazed. Kanji felt a coldness in the pit of his stomach, but with a glance back to Naoto he set his jaw. Now was not the time for those familiar nerves!]
If they even try to bitch about you bein' late, they can take it up with me.
no subject
[She places her hand on her side again and frowns. It's beginning to dampen. Was it really that bad? Though, perhaps it wasn't all blood now, but her body attempting to heal.]
Erm... [She removes her hand and grabs hold of his sleeve, legs shaking slightly still.]
no subject
H-hey... hang on, okay?!
[And that coldness became a little twist of panic. Jeez, what the hell's with the people rubbernecking the injured!? Make way, make way, or he will use another damn Soul Descent, swear to god...!]
no subject
[Oh no, wait; that's her nurse. She does not look happy.]
no subject
Don't wanna hear it! Just... just make sure she's okay, damn it!
no subject
[She begins to lead the small detective away]
Good bye for now, Kanji-kun... and thank you again.
no subject
Y-yeah... see ya, Naoto-kun.
[He'd stay, sending a text out to the others in hopes he'd receive a message back as he paced in the waiting area for a while. ...However, it was when he spotted a little blood on his sleeve that he was riled up again. Patience all ready worn thin from the stress of the earthquake, the resulting panic would have him ordered to step outside for some air. For god's sake, she'll be fine.]
[And when he began to cop an attitude, it took four staff members to get him escorted out.]
