EVENT: Retake the City
Characters: Every who signed up to retake the city
Location: Death City
Rating: PG
Time: July 4th
Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?
Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.
They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.
Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.
Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

Morgan and Giroro | Near Casualty Communal | Closed
[Or at least that was what she thought until a huge worm-like creature appeared from around the corner of a building, pungent drool dripping from its oversized mouth. She made a face, completely grossed out.]
Eww.
[The worm lunged for her and she leapt up onto the monster’s head, jumping off it like a springboard and somersaulting through the air to land behind it. But the creature turned, moving her way again. Drat! Now, she really wished she had her Blade of Dragotta.]

He had noticed the Kishin Eggs before, but a firearm Weapon without a Meister was as good as useless. So he chose a tactical retreat.
He heard Morgan before he saw her and, ah, there was someone he knows he can work with.
Giroro pulled out his knife and threw it at the Kishin Egg, hoping to distract it for a moment as he jumped from his perch on a nearby rooftop to land in front of Morgan.]
Are you all right?
no subject
I'd be better if that gross thing didn't think I was its lunch!
[And uh, oh, here it comes again! She quickly grabbed Giroro and jumped back.]
no subject
Then let's show it why we're not.

[Morgan would have preferred a sword but now wasn't the time to be picky. She hastily raised the beam rifle in the worm's direction and pulled the trigger. Her aim might be off though since she hasn't had much practice with firearms.]
no subject
Her shot connects though it was not fatal, it caused the worm to rear up in pain.]
Don't let up. I'll guide your aim.
no subject
Where did this gross thing come from anyway?
[She took another shot, aiming for the disgusting, drooling mouth.]
no subject
I'm not sure. They started showing up in the city shortly after the evacuation.
no subject
They? There's more of them?
no subject
[He watches the worm burst into smoke and swept the area s best he could using his senses.]
If you don't want to keep fighting them, I suggest you find high ground away from the sand.
no subject
[She would have moved back towards Casualty Communal but there was the sound of a crash from behind as another worm emerged from an alleyway. Uh, oh.]
no subject
[Stupid things.]
We'll just have to carve a path back to the building. [Since that was their objective now: getting back to the Casualty Communals.
The worm wasn't going to make it easy on them as it reared up briefly before charging them, mouth agape.]
no subject
[Morgan shared the sentiment about those stupid worms. She fired a couple of shots before backflipping away.]
Looks like we don't have a choice.
[And more shots into that disgusting mouth.]
no subject
There wasn't even time to celebrate before the ground rumbled and something headed towards them. There was a fire escape to their left though.]
See if you can take the high ground.
no subject
[Morgan leaped up into the air, snagging one of the lower rungs on the fire escape's ladder with her free hand and then swinging her legs up. As she climbed up the metal structure, another kishin egg burst from the sand below. This one was a snake but didn't look any more friendly than the worms and just as ravenous. Clinging to the ladder with one arm, she fired off a few shots to distract it and then climbed onto the landing. ]
