Morning Training Log!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 27th.

[ It only seems appropriate for Ghoulia to take a moment to swing by and meet some of the Watch in person. Taking a little break, she makes her way over to the only familiar face she knows so far: Neji. ]

[ Here y'go, Neji, have a zombie girl shamblin' her way over to you before taking a seat nearby. ] Good morning.

[Neji sets his papers aside, cradling his tea between both hands and turns to regard their newest recruit, and a great help to the office]

Good morning. How are you faring in your position so far?

[brainius]

[ She offers a slow nod to him, pleased to be away from the training for at least a bit. A physical specialist, she was not. ]

Quite well, I would hope. Learning, of course, but settling in faster than I expected. [ She offers a little smile. ] Happy to be able to help.

[ Then, a pause as she glances at the papers. ] Anything I can offer a hand with?

Glad to hear it. [He follows her gaze with a blink, then smiles]

Not in particular at the moment, though I'll need your assistance in the near future with organizing a number of things. The Watch needs more advanced training, for instance, and I was considering when and where we should hold something like additional classes and the like.

[brainius]

[ She answers with a slight nod, already using a piece of paper to jot down a few notes. She's quick when it's necessary. ]

To ensure that I'm on the same page, how soon in the future? And, I assume, for that example, that it would be advanced training of a combat nature and not classroom instruction; or?

[How diligent. Neji nods]

Within the next few weeks, ideally. And yes, the classes would be of a more practical nature, geared more toward field application for things such as team coordination and pursuit training.

[ You can't forget notes; just lose them. Ghoulia's occasionally scribbling down a few additional things without actually looking down. Skills. ]

A reasonable timeframe, I would like to think. For classes of that variety, I would imagine that our various Zone Leaders are the instructors? [ A pause. ] And, likely we would need a location that isn't at all fragile and with enough space to work in... have you already decided on indoors or outdoors?

[ She hopes Neji doesn't mind all the questions; she'd rather have all the details before making any decisions or assumptions. ]

Outdoors would be best. Preferably somewhere with places to hide and plenty of obstacles..

[The park didn't meet either of those conditions very well..] As for the instructors, that will likely be myself and Auron most of the time. I'd like to have districts learn to work together, perhaps even put them against one another in a survival game or something or that nature.

[brainius]

[ She'd thought of the park as well, given that that was where they were, and it was more open space than not. In a last resort, they could always assemble various obstacles and hiding places to be used. That would do as a back-up plan. ] Hm. Either here, or the football field would be ideal outdoor locations, but the matter of obstacles is another issue...

Given that cooperation with fellow district members is particularly important, an underlying competitive element such as that is ideal. [ She nods in agreement. ] So long as we put emphasis that they all win, in the end, because they worked together.

[ The last thing anyone would need would be to create resentment and animosity between anyone. This was a team effort. ]

[Neji nods, deciding that Ghoulia will certainly be someone he relies on frequently in the future]

We had a game over the winter that the former commander held here. It was something like a sporting event. The losing team had to organize and clean up the New Year's party afterward. That had gone well.

[brainius]

[ She'd be pleased to ever learn that; but there were duties to be done that came first. Lots to do, after all. ]

A task given to the losing team that still emphasizes cooperation and is not a punishment such as that would be perfect... especially with a bonus silver lining. [ She can't help a little chuckle. ] I assume they were then in charge of all the party details?

[Neji huffs an amused note, nodding]

More or less. The food was provided, but everything else, we sorted out and took care of. But as for following in that vein for other events in different ways.. I don't have many ideas.

[ She nods, still contemplative after his confirmation. ]

I believe you mentioned that we have time? As such, I will give it some thought if you'd like? [ She adds a little note to the top of her page, circling it. ] ...and return to you with some ideas in the near future.
