[OPEN] Earthquake Event
Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City
Rating: Varied
Time: Jan 22
Description: OOC post here.
It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.
The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.
ooc: Like always, please feel free to start your own threads. Follow the subject line format:

[Ling] [Anywhere you need] [Open!]
[Ah, he thinks he spots something or someone--]
no subject
In any instance, he may be in need of medical attention.]
no subject
Oh my god... are you all right, sir? That looked painful.
no subject
Uhhh...
[He goes back to staring at his hand.]
Don't call me sir, the name's Max.
no subject
I'm Ling. And I think you're going to need ice for that.
no subject
[Max looks at Ling, trying to hide the anxiety on his face.]
That's pretty lucky. Who would have thought there were one of you guys near by...
no subject
[Ling busts out a gel icepack and holds it out proudly]
Here, this is weird future-ice. You can put this on your hand to try and keep the swelling down!
no subject
[It looked like a standard ice pack to him... Regardless, he takes it from Ling with a nod and places it precariously on his swollen hand.]
Thanks. It was still pretty lucky that you were around.
no subject
What else do you need? I have bandages. A lot of bandages.

There was still a lot to be done, people to be helped, and Ed was just racing around to do just this when he spotted Ling. Changing courses, he quickly made his way over to him.]
Ling!
no subject
Edward~!!! You're all riiiiight, ahahaha! Ah, I'm so glad!
[Leaping at his friend, he's aiming for the biggest hug ever]
no subject
Hey, hey... [Moving to push him back a bit.] 'Course I'm fine... glad you are too.
no subject
Ed, what's wrong. You're hurt?
[He hates not being able to sense chi. He holds Ed at arm's length, trying to visually inspect any injuries. His fingers are moving very lightly and carefully over anything that looks damaged.]
no subject
It's fine... There was a collapse where I was, but I'm alright... [His automail looks pretty beat up, some pieces missing, and he has a number of cuts and bruises all over as well, but overall he's doing okay.]
no subject
A collapse, and you say it like you simply tripped and stubbed your toe. Look, your automail-- was it crushed by something? Your arm doesn't seem okay.
[Ling's eyes are sympathetic, and there's a trace of sadness in his voice as he maneuvers Ed's fingers one by one.]
Does it hurt much?
no subject
There was some damage to the nerves, I'm pretty sure. I'll have to get it looked at it. [Subject change!] What about you, are you okay?

Y'need a hand?
no subject
[Ling nods at what was once an ice cream shop. The heavy tiled roof has fallen in towards the front of the store.]
If there are people inside, we need to get them out quickly.
no subject
...Big problem is no one is shoutin'. Can't tell if there's no one there or they're knocked out.
[Trying to get through the smaller stuff quicker so he can see what's all in there.]
no subject
[Ling starts shoving and hauling the pieces of tile and concrete and boards away from the spot that looks like it might be the best place to go inside.]
Hopefully, they were able to get out at the beginning. So many people did, today...
no subject
[He helped move some of the bigger pieces if it was needed, but mostly focused on the smaller ones that could be moved quicker.]
Can't rest until we check if anyone is trapped.
no subject
[Ling's handling the larger things. He heaves aside a beam and then rolls a big block of concrete out of the way.]
I'm Ling. I remember talking to you before. What was your name again?
no subject
[He moves to move more smaller things around, cleaning things up. Trying to get as many things out of the way as possible.]
no subject
[Ling has a rather large slab of cement to contend with here. Once it's moved, they should be able to get in-- or at least have a look.]
