Come on baby light my fire [CLOSED]
Characters: The amazing scarlet duo Genesis and Edgeworth
Location: The Daintree Forest, Australia
Rating: G? PG? Some violence, yep.
Time: August 31
Description: Within the Daintree Rainforest of Australia, there lurks a monster that blends into surroundings that some have thought it a guardian of the forest. However, the poison clouds that it emits is quick to kill whoever is unfortunate to walk by and be seen as easy prey. It hides amid the great trees, but it is fully capable of pulling itself from the ground and moving to a new location in search of the next victim.
[Ever since their last mission in the rainforest, Genesis had been pretty wary about anything that involved such settings, knowing that they would certainly come with a degree of difficulty. This one was no different. And the briefing on this particular kishin egg made Genesis feel more wary.
After all, poison was a potent thing. And a gas poison was going to be more difficult to evade. He had enough run-ins with Malboros to know the effects of poisonous gas. Unfortunately, here in Death City, there was no such thing as Heal materia or perfect antidotes to use in a pinch. So they have to be extra careful.
Just in case, though, he had advised Edgeworth to wear a gas mask. He himself had one, too. It could hamper their range of vision, but better that than choking on noxious fumes.]

[Concentrating on this strategy, Genesis reduces his live flames and instead heats his blade to an intense temperature so the only thing that catches fire or burns is whatever that touches the sword.
In the meantime, the Kishin howls again and continues to attempt swiping at the men before pausing-- as if it was about to unleash a bout of poison.]

Then we'll strike before it has the opportunity to deal that card.
[Edgeworth allows Genesis to reduce the flames to sizzling heat. He ducks the swipe and sidesteps another - and stares at the kishin, which had suddenly stopped. It expanded its chest...or rather, the part that was where its chest would be...
Basically, it was inhaling, and that was enough for Edgeworth to quickly drop to the ground, as close to the ground as possible, and roll away. The kishin emits a sickly green mist from its mouth, killing an unfortunate little bird that had happened to pass by. The poor thing drops out of the air and at the kishin's feet, but the creature kicks the corpse away, lumbering toward the direction Edgeworth had taken.
He remains motionless for a second before scrambling back onto his feet and placing as much distance between him and the kishin as possible.]

[Genesis had withstood poisonous gases several times in the past back in Gaia, so it wasn't in his instinct to duck and move away from the monster's path. But Edgeworth's movement was a great reminder of being safe rather than sorry. The creature was still lumbering towards them, as relentless as all Kishin Eggs were bound to be. This didn't seem particularly smart, though, like the more humanoid Kishin Eggs. Yet, that still didn't take away from its destructive power.]
Seems like this could be a tricky one to take down. Although, I suppose that the best way to get at him is to catch him at his most vulnerable. I'm not sure if you noticed, but he stays perfectly still when it lets out its poisonous breath. Perhaps that could be a ripe chance to attack.

[Unfortunately, that plan entailed remaining perfectly still, waiting for the monster to give its disgusting ability another go and then lunging at the proper time before it could breathe out.
With enough distance, Edgeworth remains still, eyes on the kishin that was already beginning to approach.]

[And Genesis will make sure to make good on that word. As a trained SOLDIER with years of experience taking down opponents with carefully timed moves, Genesis could have done it perfectly on his own. But here, as a weapon, he had to aid Edgeworth.
The kishin comes within range of them-- takes a breath...]
Now!
[A surge of resonance helps propel Edgeworth forward at the perfect time!]

Then he wills the rest of their energy to kindle the flames and destroy the kishin further.]

Genesis senses its approach-- its burning wooden claw approaching--]
EDGEWORTH!!

...and Edgeworth's heart continues to race as he realizes that that had been a very close call.]

Mission accomplished.
ANOTHER MISSION ENDED yaaaay
Indeed so...I believe there is nothing more for us to do here.
