EVENT: The Attack of the Clowns
Early in the morning, those who had brought one back would find the bird keychains they brought back from their trip to that skii resort doing something...strange. The small eyes on the things started pulsing with a faint light that might go unnoticed at first. It doesn't stop though, and keeps right on pulsing for the rest of the morning.
Shortly, before noon, the light stops pulsing and shines bright enough to be uncomfortable.
Two things happen at once when it does.
One of these things is this: within a 50 meter radius of every keychain, strange ripples appear in the ground. From these ripples, something that is barely humanoid in shape slowly ascend. Their colours range from red to silver to yellow to purple. When they've materialized all the way, the Clowns immediately spring into action, attacking anyone nearby and, if there is no one, move in whatever direction they were facing, seeking victims.
The other thing that happens is a voice, young, lilting and feminine, being projected through the keychains.
""Thank you for all that you have done: none of this would have been possible without your contributions. I would thank you all in person except I don't believe I am really welcome here. Which is a pity as I hadn't gotten to meet all of my lovely victims the first time around. Please accept these children as a token of my appreciation instead. They are a little, ah, crude, but I do hope you will all play nicely~."

"You don't study yourself in a mirror because you know you're perfect anyway?" The red clown didn't last long, and he glanced around to make certain that they had cleared the area. He would have to make a run around the Watch to clear the area out and then head to his district to help there. "Then we'll keep an eye out. I need to go to my district to help people there. You'll come, right?"
no subject
"You know as well as I that I have no interest in such things," he commented in return as he pushed his advance onto the next clown in his path. It was a purple one, and he didn't underestimate this one the moment he felt his energies beginning to drain. "The purple one appears to be draining me of energy," Sephiroth offered before replying in reply to his partner. "I am always by your side, Cloud."

He chuckled at the older man's mantra, aware that it was true, especially as he rubbed a hand through his silvered hair. "They don't seem as effective as the black clowns we once faced, don't you agree?"
no subject
"I wouldn't assume that it is, doing so would only put us in unnecessary danger," Sephiroth mused while his sharp gaze flickered over their battle area for any further dangers. The fact that Cloud wanted to protect his people came as no surprise, and while he had no interest in saving anyone's life save Cloud's, he would do whatever was necessary to make certain his partner never faced the horrors again as he had in Nibelheim. "These are weak, perhaps from a weak witch with no true power or knowledge when it comes to making such monstrosities."

He shifted his weight and allowed his sword to lower from his shoulder as he approached his partner. There was the usual set dogged determination emanating from the older man, one he knew well and never had to question. "All the more reason for us to cut them down. Let's go, okay?" He reached out, brushing his fingers against Sephiroth's elbow affectionately.
no subject
Feeling Cloud shift in closer, the touch to his elbow drew his attention back towards his partner despite having having such threats still surrounding them. His softly glowing eyes lingered on the once blonde. "As you wish," Sephiroth said, his voice oddly soft before he was nodding. He didn't transform though, and instead offered Cloud the barest hint of a smile before it shifted into an arrogant smirk.
Sephiroth was off in the next moment. The playful challenge was made and he knew well that Cloud wouldn't deny him either. If he was to aid Cloud then he would find his entertainment even if Sephiroth would allow the silvered blonde to get ahead of him.
no subject
He allowed his hand to drop back to his side as his gaze lingered on Sephiroth's in return. The smile was rare in public, and he allowed a smirk of his own to mirror the one that his partner wore. "Don't get too much blood on you; it's hard to get it out of leather, you know."
Once Sephiroth began to head off, he followed at the older man's elbow, glancing at the sky even if he knew a challenge had settled between them, playful though it may be. "Nice day for a battle. I don't like fighting in the rain much except when I want a challenge."
no subject
Moving swiftly, he caught sight of further targets up ahead as they movies swiftly through the streets. "The weather matters not to me," he confessed, and in his own subtle way confessed to something he did enjoy, a rare occurrence even with his conversations with Cloud. Hey never needed to speak wen they fought side by side. There appeared to be no need for it as they both fought around each other with grace that it almost appeared as though they were dancing as they battled.

He made his turn, slipping his sword tip down towards the ground as he closed with the purple clown. He knew Sephiroth would go right through the silver one in front and they would meet at the purple. His sword hit it high across the chest as he spun, his back sliding across Sephiroth's as they passed and he darted under his partner's bladed arm to cut into a red clown a few feet to his left.
no subject
Sighting the targets up ahead, he sensed his partner disappearing off to the side to take care of the red clown. Sephiroth moved with deadly grace as he darted in to take down the silver threat. His opponents were nothing but that to him, and he mentally took stock of everyone and thing on the battlefield as he moved to efficiently take it out. It didn't take long, and as his beloved weapon effortlessly sliced through the flesh of the clown, he sensed Cloud taking out the other moments before he felt Cloud pivot perfectly around his own moving body.
He hadn't needed to worry about the red clown coming at him as Cloud already had it in his sights. Ignoring it completely, Sephiroth smoothed his body back around the other side of Cloud as he caught sight of another just further away from the younger male. With no further words, he moved in to detach the creature's head from its neck.

He withdrew his sword to avoid the red blood-like substance and to avoid the flames before he watched Sephiroth kill another. He stepped forward, leaving the safety of the older man's longer reach to engage a yellow clown, feeling a distinct pressure on his mind as he drew in. He leaned more of his mental strength on the link as he removed one of the yellow clown's arms with his blade charged with soul menace.
He hissed as the mental pressure increased before he stabbed the clown through the head, removing it soon after before shaking his head to rid himself of the sensation. "I think yellow have some kind of mental abilities."
no subject
"Did it attempt to attack you in such a way?" Sephiroth asked as he effortlessly darted in and brought his Masamune up to carve the purple clown in half from the ground up.
no subject
"Yes, there was a pressure on my mind like I haven't felt in a very long time," he murmured before he began to move on to the next few further away. This was an entertaining challenge, he thought as he by-passed people moving for places to hide. He cut into a silver clown that closed with him quickly, deflecting whatever blade it had tried to warp its arms into and striking at the main body in return.
no subject
Bringing the blade up, he ignored the ignition of fire from the red clown as the shadows the flames caused were controlled and used as a weapon. Swiping out to push the creature back, he commanded the shadows to strike at the clown as Sephiroth slid in to protect the fools.
"A pressure?" He couldn't help but ask as he peered over to Cloud momentarily.
no subject
He twisted to the side of a sweeping strike from a purple clown that came down before him, narrowing his eyes at the sensation of his energy being pulled from him. He engaged it immediately, not about lose himself when there was plenty of fighting left. His sword flashed before he slammed his charged fist into the clown's chest to blow it off of its feet and leave an hole from his soul menace.]
"Like it was suppressing or wrestling control of my thoughts. Be careful."
no subject
"Suppressing and wrestling control of them?" He couldn't stop the near-possessive growl that slipped into his tone. Slashing at the silver one that attempted to come up from behind, Sephiroth stabbed it without even glancing at the creature as his sharp gaze fixated solely on the one thing that was most important to him. That clown dared to touch what was his so intimately? The thought was already starting to cause well tempered fires to start flaring out of control, and even despite being unaffected with madness, Sephiroth felt the darkness attempting to leak back through his mind.
His strikes turned more vicious as the air around him seemed to cool around him. The person hiding behind him scrambled wisely away as his wing burst out of his shoulder and flared in all of its might. The caution didn't even register in his mind at all. No, he would make it his mission to destroy every single one of those clowns to protect what was his.
no subject
"You can kill the yellow ones from now on, if you like?" He knew that sensation of possessiveness well, and he knew it would continue to eat at Sephiroth and set the older man until some level of vengeance had been achieved against the slight that his partner perceived. The emergence of Sephiroth's wing only confirmed how deep the possessiveness went, and he offered his partner a sly look. "You're welcome in my mind instead, you know."
no subject
The sound of Cloud's voice only further drove that thought through his mind. There was no 'like' about it. He would be taking down any yellow coloured clowns, or any colour that stood in his way to strike them down. His feathered wing seemed to shiver with the dark possessiveness he felt, and even despite the sly look Cloud offered him, he found no amount of his determination straying from his new path.
"No one is allowed within the confines of your mind other than me," Sephiroth growled, his pace going from standstill to near-invisible as he took off towards the first yellow clown he saw. Nothing stood in his way as he rapidly darted through whatever was in his path. Flames and shapes would form, but never would they go beyond the first stages of transition as he cut each one in half.
no subject
"Ah... yes, I suppose that's true," he murmured before rubbing the back of his head. Sephiroth had really been the only one in it before, aside from maybe those weird illusions that Aerith had given him to say she was going off to stop Meteor.
"Hey wait, we're fighting together!" It was too late, the older man charging off. He sighed and took off after his partner at a sprint, but the clowns stood no chance against the speed and power in which his partner moved. He finished a few off that didn't die right away before hastening after the growing path of destruction.
no subject
Cloud had only just seemed to get back to his side before he was throwing his right arm up to take control of the shadows beneath the feet of another yellow clown. Unmindful of the fate of anything near it, his expression darkened as he controlled the shadows to cause the clown to implode.
no subject
He should get ahold of Sephiroth and give the man a firm shaking to break him out of the mood, but it hadn't worked in the past and it wasn't going to work now. Instead, he brushed his back against Sephiroth's to let the man know he was there before he moved away to cut into another silver clown, only to return to his partner's side when the threat was taken care of. "Are you planning on destroying all the yellow ones or just the ones in this area?"
no subject
"If they dare to flaunt their presence near you their lives will be forfeit," Sephiroth growled as he scanned the area and sighted no further yellow clowns. He would make certain that he would find more. Turning his heated eyes on Cloud, he pinned the blonde with his overly bright glare. "If one dares to enter your thoughts again I will tear it limb by limb."
no subject
"I'll be certain to let you know if any of them bad-touch my mind," he murmured with a smirk before he reached back and played a hand over Sephiroth's backside. He turned to regard the older man, aware they had a brief reprieve for a minute or two. "I don't think yellow would look very nice on your coat..."
no subject
"I would have it no other way," Sephiroth growled through the brief reprieve of clowns in the area. The feel of that hand playing over his backside did draw Sephiroth's attention back to the blonde behind him although his eyes remained narrowed. "Why would I have such a colour on my coat?"
no subject
"You'll be the first to know, I assure you," he murmured, and he offered a playful wink at the older man for his previous antics. He knew he had best be careful as flirting and possessiveness might land him in a bad position. "If you kill them all and they spray their... blood or whatever it is, you might get some on you. Then you'd look like a honey bee and I could ask you why you have such a bee in your bonnet?"
