[Closed] Gunpla 101
Characters: Keroro and Lily Ivory
Location: Metokkori R/Hikan Cafe
Rating: G
Time: July 24, morning
Description: Before the sandstorm, Keroro made Lily promise to build a Gundam model kit with him. Things have been a bit crazy since then but the alien frog hasn’t forgotten and he’s making the witch make good on her promise.
[A lot had happened since that day a few weeks ago when Lily saw Keroro with his model kits in the park. The sandstorm, cleaning up afterwards, being a Weapon for a week, and all of the strange things that had appeared in the city. That pinky promise she had made with the alien to build one of those models when she had time had been pushed to the back of her mind like an old trunk of clothes shoved into an attic corner.]
[But Keroro hadn’t forgotten and insisted on having her put together one of those strange plastic toys. (Or making her swallow a thousand needles…)]
[So, this morning she opened Yesterday’s Magic, leaving it in her employees’ care, and then climbed the stairs to the third floor where the alien ran his shops.]
Keroro?

Keroro?

So, I just trace along all of the lines? [She takes the cap off and tentatively gives it a try. Oops! That came out a bit wobbly.] Um, does it come off if you make a mistake?
no subject
[Keroro quickly hands her a tissue.]
no subject
Um, let's try that again...
[And the next attempt comes out better.]
So, what goes next? Do you just keep cutting parts out and putting them together like this and adding lines?
no subject
Going to jump ahead a bit if that's okay...
[So, the cutting and lining and assembly continues and about an hour later, there's a few large sections pieced together on the table.]
Is it almost done now?
Re: Going to jump ahead a bit if that's okay...
Almost, de arimasu! You just have to put the sections together and you're almost finished, de arimasu.

[Lily has the other arm and is trying to connect it to the rest.]
no subject
[Because it wasn't quite complete till you had stuck on tiny stickers that no one could really see, but had to be there for the sake of completion and realism.]
no subject
[She's not sure if she sees the point to this part.]
no subject
[And with that, he drags out the instruction booklet again and turns to the very last page with illustrations on where each of the 30 stickers go.]
Just follow the guide here, de arimasu!
no subject
[Lily looks between the booklet and the sheet of stickers.]
Land sakes! Why are there so many of these? And some of them are so tiny...
[Better start with the larger ones first. She's not sure how she can manage to apply some of the smaller ones!]
no subject
Don't try to pick them up with your hands, de arimasu. You'll just get it stuck on yourself and ruin the adhesive, de arimasu.
no subject
[Lily looks doubtfully at the tiny stickers again and then pushes the sheet towards him.]
...Um, maybe you should do this part since you've had more practice.
no subject
[Pushes it back in her direction because you couldn't truly say you had built a Gunpla until you were still finding tiny stickers stuck onto random places months after you had finished your build.]
no subject
[And forgetting what he said a minute ago about not trying to pick the stickers up with her hands, she attempts to pull one of the larger ones off the sheet with her fingers. Where did this go anyway?]
no subject
Kero! Not like that! More gently!

no subject
Exactly! Good job, de arimasu! It's a bit crooked and if it were me I'd probably take it off and redo it but for a first attempt, you did really well, de arimasu.
no subject
[Oh, well. She'll keep going with the stickers. A couple of the others come out a hair crooked too.]
