[Log] Erinyes Takedown!
Characters: Members of the Watch and Agency
Location: Watch HQ, Agency HQ and an abandoned warehouse
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Time: June 13th-14th
Description: The Watch and Agency team up to crash an Erinyes meeting and make some arrests.
[The warehouse stands in Residential I, looking rather innocuous for a secret meeting place. It blends in, small and easily overlooked in the shadows of other buildings. Nameless posters are slapped to its walls; small concealed cameras dotting shadowed corners.
Sundown approaches and dying light filters in through a dusty window on the gathering of Erinyes inside]
[ooc: Detailed info here, coordination post here!]

[ Re-l had asked her own partner to remain close by, just in case anything went wrong and they ended up in need of assistance. She had her regular rifle strapped to her thigh, as per usual, but that wouldn't do any damage against Witches or other paired up teams that they may come up against within the Erinyes. Paranoid? Maybe. She preferred to say that she was prepared, not paranoid.
For the record.
She turns away from the screen long enough to figure out who was coming toward her before turning back, leaning back in her seat to stretch a little. ]
All clear, so far. I asked Vincent to not be busy, just in case we need back up at any point.

[He doesn't need to know someone has reached the same conclusion he has about the likelihood of things going to shit to know he's right, but it's gratifying that someone has.
They've not gone to shit yet, and he can't resist teasing Re-L a little.]
How's coupledom treating you two?

I'd love to get my hands on a few of them myself, but Vincent asked me to allow people with more hand to hand experience do that, and I found the request fair enough, considering. [ She was more than willing to concede that point, at least, considering she didn't particularly want to get the shit kicked out of her because she was too bull headed to just concede the point to Vincent.
Still, she cuts him a little side long glare, at that.
Even if this was Mello, she was still intensely private, considering just how not-private her life in Romdeay had been before. At least she lacks any real venom, despite what she says. ]
Oh, you know. Just enough of none of your damn business.

I can wait until the interrogations to get my hands on them. Besides, I didn't want a dozen people reminding me that deadly force was off the table unless absolutely necessary.

... I've been wondering how much stretching of the rules Neji might allow. [ She leans back, for the moment trusting Ghoulia to the monitors so that she can speak to Mello more directly. After all, her eyes were starting to get tired from staring at screens all day (or so she's tell herself to stave off the feeling she was not taking the best care of herself that she should). Workaholics needed rest, too, didn't they? ]
After all, in my world they would do absolutely anything to get information. I don't see why these men ought to be spared the rod, so to speak, when they're going to get themselves caught so obviously.

[Mello doesn't think the leeway will extend to physical threats, which is a shame, but he's familiar with a wide range of psychological tactics that will still be effective.]
I personally always preferred to make it clear from the start that I held all the cards, which will be the case here.

Hm. I still suspect I'm used to a little more of that wiggle room, when it comes to the letter of the law. But, I suppose everything has a learning curve about it, doesn't it? [ There were perks to being the regent's granddaughter, after all. She had been allowed to bend the law and the rules to her own whims, most of the time. To a point, at least, but when the only punishment was a slap on the wrist conversation with her grandfather's advisors....
Let's just say the incentive to behave was not more tempting than the idea of misbehaving. ]
But do we? This isn't our world and Shibusen is still in control. The same Shibusen that's about an effective as a lame duck.

[Erinyes is so many flavors of fucked, Mello won't even have to exaggerate for effect once the interrogations start. It's beautiful.]
I was used to essentially writing my own laws.
[You get that privilege when you've stepped entirely outside the system.]

When they addressed everyone in the city? I did too. They struck me like a child who hasn't gotten their way. Perfect for someone who's trying to bring down an entire operation that we have no control of anyway. It's just funny to me to be pissed off at Guests for things that they can't even control.
[ She pushes her hands though her hair, sighing as she looks back to the screens for a moment, making sure nothing suspicious was going on. ] I don't know, I don't have much faith in them. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong with this one. I wouldn't mind that.
Mmn, I was the same. At least until my grandfather pulled me back, but. Essentially that's what I did.

[He's pissed off not just because they kidnapped his best friend, but because a group of such fucking amateurs have managed to cause this much trouble.]
They don't strike me as a group with advanced logical skills. For once, I have complete faith in Shibusen to get the better of them.
[Her last statement explains a lot: finding themselves severely limited in terms of resources and options made both of them less than thrilled with Death City. At least at first, for Mello. It does still easily beat being dead.]

Most people who wish for a revolution have no idea what the results will mean until it's dead and gone in front of them. Frankly, I wouldn't mind watching them get eaten alive for breakfast, but then again, it'd probably start a more justified revolution after. [ Hey, she might have been the root of her own little revolution back in Romdeau before the dome fell, and even if it was an inadvertent revolution, it still might have been one. ]
Well, at least someone does. [ Because Re-l Mayer sure as hell doesn't. ]

If Erinyes had left my best friend alone, I wouldn't have been opposed to giving them what they want and timing how many seconds it took them to beg us to come back and save them. [He huffs a laugh.]
I should get back to Near. I'll check in with you two later.

I'll confess that I had no idea what would end up happening in Romdeau, but... the beginning of what ended up happening was, at least partially, unexpected and spontaneous. Accidental, considering the situation. [ Vague, as always, but the entire story was a little too long to talk about right now.
She's quiet, as he talks about the Erinyes hurting his best friend - quietly thinking to herself that she would have done the same, had they managed to do anything to Vincent. But, naturally, she wasn't going to admit that now. ]
Go do what you need to. We'll be here.
