Description: Condesce visits Lily’s shop, seeking help for the Gala.



[Lily had arrived at the shop earlier than usual this morning to take care of some laundry in the back room, a collection of blouses and summer dresses recently acquired. As the garments tumbled around in the dryer, she returned to the front of the shop and turned her attention to the old prom dresses picked up from the dry cleaner’s yesterday. Holding each one up in turn, she hugged the dresses to herself, feeling for the vibrations: faint since they had mostly only been worn once or twice but mainly excited and happy. Then, making a more conventional examination of each dress’s condition, she would write up a price tag and carefully attach it.]

[It wasn’t 11 yet so the door was still locked and the closed sign displayed. But a tap on the glass should get her attention…]

[ After morning training and baking some cakes, Condesce decides it's time to go talk to another person who might help with the gala. Honestly, Keroro and Eve would be the ones taking most of the credit, but by asking other guest business for help to prepare the event it would allow the troll to throw in her name "Betty Crocker" without being too suspicious (it would be a lot more if she was the sole affiliation).

So she will try Lily Ivory's business, Yesterday’s Magic. The troll doesn't look like Nicki Minaj today, but she never take a serious look, even when addressing business. At least she will attempt to talk without her quirk.

Attempt.

When she reaches the door, her pink eyes glance inside before tapping on the glass to call out for the other woman inside. ]

[Lily was busy arranging the new gowns on the rack when the tap came so it took a moment for her to register the noise and its source. Glancing over her shoulder towards the door, she could make out a gray face through the glass. Another of those trolls?]

[Thinking it was just an early customer, Lily hurried to the door, unlocked it, and stuck her head out.]

Sorry but I'm not quite ready to open yet. It'll be about ten more minutes.

[ Condesce almost threw in ghetto speak, but she reminds herself this is business. ]

I'm not interested in purchasing an item, miss Ivory. I wish to speak to you in behalf of Colonel Keroro and Miss Eve.

Keroro and Eve? They sent you, Miss ...?

[Huh. It seemed a tad odd they sent someone else when their shop was just upstairs. But then, Keroro had wanted to make an appointment over those smartphones rather than walking down to tell her so maybe she shouldn't be surprised...]

Condesce. [ she smiles, cocking her head to the side ]

They are currently a bit busy, I hope it's alright to speak with me and not with them. I'm sure they are sorry for not being able to come here themselves.

[A nod. And it was obvious that they'd already told Condesce her name but she generally wasn't very formal...] You can call me Lily.

Is this about those princess dresses he wanted for his game? That frog said he was going to make an appointment after he talked to the girls they were for. [She was starting to wonder if he had changed his mind since she hadn't heard back yet.]

It's not about that. Something entirely different, actually.

[ Condesce smiles ] A Summer Gala.

A gala? As in a big fancy party? [She thought back to the Art Deco Ball where she had been before BREW interrupted her life again.]

But what would they have to do with such a thing? [A Japanese goods shop and a cafe didn't exactly scream formal party.]

wow DW never sent me the notif of this, I'm really sorry!

Exactly that. [ Condesce nods, but at the question, she shrugs lightly ]

Wouldn't be gathering clients enough? It's good for their business, specially since the city has been so against guests, wouldn't it?

It's okay! I noticed notifications were acting up a bit last week!

So, they're throwing this party as a promotion for their shops? It seems kind of extravagant for that. [She had hosted a vintage party as an opening event for her shop but it had been pretty casual.]

But what does that have to do with me? Did Eve want me to find a dress for her? [She didn't come across many formal gowns in Eve's size so it might take some searching.]

Not just that. The gala isn't solely meant for guests, but also natives. A way of... appeasing the masses, maybe? Or perhaps an attempt to rebuild the relationship guests and natives had once. [ gosh, talking polite is difficult for her. ]

For that same reason, more guest business involved in the Gala, betta [ better. ] would be.

So we would like to ask you for help to throw it, actually.

So, it's sort of a public relations thing? Do you think it would actually work? [Sure, things had calmed down a lot since the time she found those slaughtered chickens on her doorstep but the fires during that last big mission showed some folks were still around, waiting for chances to make trouble.]

Oh? What do they want me to do?

Aye, in a way. [ but if it'd actually work. Condesce doesn't really care; she just wants a big gala to show off. But- ] Gotta start somewhere, right? Swim shallow waters first, then move to deeper parts. [ wow, fish analogies what. ]

The gala will be held by the park's swimming pool, in big tents. We are interested in making the place glamorous enough for such event. And because your shop provides vintage clothes, perhaps you could of help; curtains, table decoration.

I guess. [Lily couldn't say much about the swimming analogy though. Being practically pushed out by the water back home, she'd never really learned.]

They're looking for curtains and table linens? I did have a small collection of vintage ones back home but I don't normally carry them in the shop. Also, it tends to be difficult to match large sets exactly with vintage.

Exactly. Though it will be held nearby the swimming pool, the gala is still meant to be pompous. To make it elegant.

I understand it may be difficult, but we would rather contact guest business first and sea if you are avaliabubblle. [ because guests are easier to deal with, after all.

And yeah, she is just throwing in fishpuns at this point. ]

Um, available? [Lily didn't quite realize the odd pronunciation was intended to be a pun.]

Even if I were to provide them, I'd still have to search the local thrift shops and estate auctions to find them. And if y'all want everything to match, I imagine it'd be easier if you just purchased new sets or found a company that rents them. [If there wasn't one locally, maybe in Las Vegas...]
