Time: June 10th to June 12th
Description: In the area surrounding San Martín de los Andes, Isla del Sol and San Pedro de Atacama, there have been reports of large, bird-like creatures attack and consuming humans. A request was sent out to Shibusen to deal with this threat.



San Martín de los Andes

A town famous for its tourism. It gets chilly at night, but during the day it's bright and sunny with plenty of beaches. Incidentally, it's a famous place for birdwatching during the summer. Needless to say, after more than a few bird watchers were seen being carried off there are fewer of them hanging around lately.


Isla del Sol

An island with harsh climate and rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. It is also rich in old ruins and archaeological sites. The views from the top of the mountains, especially at dawn and dusk are said to be breath-taking. Lately though, it's less the view that's taking the tourists breaths away so much as the giant birds (suspected to be Kishin Eggs) swooping down at them and eating them.


San Pedro de Atacama

Another nifty place for eco-tourism where tourists can choose to go on exploration tours in natural landscapes. Lately though, many tourists who go to the Valle de La Luna and the Chaxas Lagoon, haven't been returning. When a couple of survivors finally made it back, they spoke about a monstrous, pink bird devouring their fellow tourists.

[Minako watches the process intently the whole time since, well, this is the first time she's seen anything like this. She doesn't really know what to expect. When all that's left is a brass knuckle, she inspects it closely before letting out a yelp when he speaks.]

You're telling me! [She laughs though, bringing her fist a bit farther away from her face. So this was a Weapon here, huh... And here she was talking to her hand.] Is everything alright though?

[unbreakably]

[ Well, at least she's.. slowly getting used to it? Honestly, he has to get used to it too, so they're just a little awkward here together.. but whatever, all he can do is try his best. For the sake of protecting everyone here, for winning that war - and for protecting Minako too, of course. ]

Yeah, I'm fine. .. As fine as I can be while I'm a fucking weapon, I guess.. [ Half-muttered since this is still too weird!! ] But at least we're almost there, right? Just gotta kick that bird's ass and then I can go back to normal too.

Will you be okay fighting like this?

Yeah, I'm sure we'll get this done in no time. Then we can walk around and see the sights for real.

[She nods, glancing back down at him as she keeps walking.] I think I'll be able to manage. I have a senpai who's into boxing, and he taught me a few things.

[aside from walking from the temple to the dorms doing nothing but squats at least........]

[ But did he teach her how to fight bears without a shirt on, these are the real questions.. ]

I believe in you, Minako. [ It sounds surprisingly sincere. It's.. a little weird, either way, like this it's almost like he can feel her emotions too a little, the way she's feeling.. it's weirding him out, but he's trying to deal. Fighting is more important. ]

So all that's gotta be done now is finding that bird, huh? You see it yet?

YO GET SOME WITCH BOOTY UP IN HERE

[Considering his possible reactions to the hi-cut armor, probably not...

She nods at him, smiling confidently. Maybe it's weird to trust him so much already, but she feels pretty sure.] I believe in you too, Josuke. Let's do this!

Not yet... [AND THEN THEY WERE AT THE LAGOON... This is kind of a letdown.] I don't see anything weird here.

[namelesswitch]

[Almost right after she says that, a flock of flamingos land in the water. Which wouldn't normally be strange given that flamingos are a part of what attracts tourists to this spot.

One of those flamingos wasn't like the others, though. Being easily the size of an ostrich and all.

Unlike the rest, it also wasn't interested in the water and instead fixed its eyes on the pair of humans.]

[ .. Well. If there's anything obviously weird here.. it'd be that, right? And although it could be a little bit too straightforward, it's not like Josuke to think too deeply. They were sent here for some big pink bird, there's a big pink bird there, case closed! ]

Yo, Minako.. see that thing? That's gotta be it, c'mon, let's get this over with!

[Minako on the other hand takes a few more seconds to think about it. It fit the description of what the enemy was, and nothing else seemed to be out of the ordinary with it aside from the obvious. She almost wishes Fuuka was here to scan for weaknesses to make it easier, but that was neither here nor there.

Time to complete a mission.]

Yeah, I see it. Let's go! [And with that she'll come running in, ready to throw a punch at the giant bird once she reaches it.]

[When they get closer, they may notice that there's something else about the giant flamingo that's odd besides its size. It was that its eyes glowed faintly a detail that was previously not mentioned because I am dumb.

When the pair got closer, the flamingo opened its mouth to shot out a stream of flames at them.]

[ It's weird, fighting like this. He's used to just fighting by himself and actually.. well, being able to do something rather than being stuck as the Weapon. He should be the one throwing the punches here, this is almost frustrating..

.. but that thought vanishes the moment he sees the flames. Shit. ]

To the side..!

[evokes]

[Minako dodge rolls to the right, and it's at least clear that she's used to this kind of thing. The moment she gets up, she lunges toward the giant bird and throws a punch with her right fist.]

[Flamingos, even the giant, fire breathing kind, were not know for being particularly agile animals. It would have been impossible for it to avoid that punch.]

Furafura flamingo mingo.

[That was, if it weren't for a thin tendril of flames that came from the side, like a whip, trying to coil around Minako's wrist.]

[ .. What the hell?! Sure, he's fought some weird rat, but in the end it was just a rat with a Stand, the animal itself was normal! Was this one of those Kishin eggs they talked about, all weird and twisted, hardly like the animal anymore..?

But as he's thinking about it, he only barely notices the whip-like fire coming from it. Why does a flamingo have fire powers either way, these Kishin egg things make no sense! ]

[IS THIS SERIOUSLY STILL A FLAMINGO... Granted she's seen plenty of weird things in Tartarus, but that doesn't mean she wants to accept these kinds of things so easily!!

It's too late to stop with a lunge like that, not without tripping over herself and becoming even more vulnerable, so Minako keeps on with the punch and grits her teeth when the fire coils around her wrist. She's been through worse, she's been through worse, she's had fire and ice and lightning thrown at her before. But that was with the help of her Personas; she doesn't know if she's quite as durable without them.]

[The punch connects and the flamingo stumbles back with a pained squawk, flapping its wings as it did. The flame around her wrist tightened for a moment jerking backwards as if trying to pull her arm back as the flamingo ran towards...someone.

The fight had caused all the other flamingos to take flight, revealing that there had been a woman with a pointed hat sitting amongst them. She had a croquet mallet on her lap and she didn't appear to be bothered by the fact that her clothes was wet from sitting in the water.

She stood up with an absent-minded frown.]

Oh, dear.

[It was the same voice that had chanted before, though it certainly had sounded like it came from the diridden byection of the flamingo since she was sitting somewhere behind it, hidden by the funny looking pink birds.]

[ It's strange, the connection between their souls. Even now in the middle of battle while he's stuck in this form it's like he can sense it, the way that flame wraps around her wrist, that he can see from her very soul that it would hurt but that she can take it. It's like right now more than ever he can see Minako is just as much of a fighter as him, but still - still, he can't allow her to get hurt like this, he'll just have to somehow work harder.

But then there's something else. Wait.. the bird isn't their only enemy? But there wasn't supposed to be a person, right?! It was just the Kishin egg, and all civilians should have left already, ran away at the attack of this bird, so.. who.. is this..? ]

What the hell..? [ He would grit his teeth if he could like this. ] What's she doing here?!

[evokes]

[Minako stumbles for a moment when the coil jerks in the other direction, but she digs her feet into the ground and pulls her arm against it as best she can. Seeing that woman there now, Minako had a feeling that things were getting bad and fast. Retreating was probably their best option at this point... But she didn't want to go back with absolutely nothing on this mission!]

I don't know, but this isn't good. [She speaks in a low voice to Josuke before looking back up at the woman and calling out.]

Who are you?! [Or maybe what are you would be the better question here, but she's pretty sure she gets the idea from the hat.]

...wow. What were those typos.

I am this child's mistress. [When the flamingo got closer to her she brought a hand up to pet it on the side of its neck.

The Witch was very tall and thin with pink hair the same shade as a flamingo's plumage.

She cocked her head.]

Are you one of Shibusen's "guests"?

ssh, we'll all pretend it happened on purpose..

[unbreakably]

[ He's this close to just changing back to normal and running up to that woman and punching her - mostly since he doesn't really have a good feeling about any of this. "This child's mistress"? She's controlling the Kishin egg? But he knows that he's supposed to be the Weapon here, he can't just go run around doing that anymore. So for now he just bears it, even though he's definitely on guard in case he does have to change as a last desperate measure. ]

Better make that two. [ He grumbles a little bit, watching the woman's every move. ]

it was for the atmosphere.... yes.........

[evokes]

[Yeah don't go running ahead of her man, then she really won't be able to defend herself... Minako keeps her eyes on the woman as well. At least that reply gave some information, but she doesn't feel the need to run quite yet.]

That's wonderful news.

[She let the hand fall from the familiar to get a proper hold on her croquet mallet.]

Hachi told me to find you guys. [She paused absent-mindedly.] Well, not you two. But someone from Shibusen who is 'not from this world'.

[unbreakably]

Find us and then what?

[ Usually he sounds pretty cheerful and energetic, but right now that energy is going more into anger than anything else. Josuke has quite a temper, after all, and since he doesn't trust this situation at all his temper easily plays up. Like there could be any good reason she wanted to find them, there's no way she would have attacked them like this first then with that bird. ]

Just get to the point already, asshole..!

[evokes]

[Minako doesn't say anything else, just keeping her gaze fixed on the woman. Her answer would probably be the thing to make her decide on whether it was time or not to retreat.]

[namelesswitch]

And then I'm supposed to give Hachi a hand with her project.

[She brought up her mallet, and began to chant again.]

Furafura flamingo mingo.

[And then fire gathered at the end of her mallet.]

[ He knows this isn't good news. There's no way he can block something like that nor she, not when they're taken by surprise like this. The only option is to dodge somehow, try to run and retreat -- they need to tell someone else about this so they can send help, this isn't something on their level, he can tell that much just from this. He only barely manages to keep himself from transforming back, he just stays the Weapon on her hand for now.. ]

Minako, get the hell out of here!
