[Closed] Frozen nose and paws
Characters: Amaterasu and Sheena Fujibayashi
Location: Canada
Rating: PG
Time: June 8th, Morning
Description: Kishin eggs in Canada! Or... they're supposed to be here. Ah, right--! No, that's a snow drift.
She could continue sniffing all day, but the wind whipped around snow and scents, making it near impossible for even the wolf to track anything. Amaterasu sneezed at another snowflake directly in her nostril and shook her head fiercely. Was that--?!
Ah, no. That had been nothing again. She knocked into a tree and stepped back, sniffing at the wood. Excellent, they went in a circle now and now Kishin egg. What the heck was going on? Usually they're much more eager to present themselves. Maybe they landed in the wrong location? She looked up at her partner for today and huffed.

"We're in the right place." She pulled her jacket tighter about her and looked around. "Sometimes enemies who lived in the cold areas back home didn't always come out." She paused significantly. "Unless something drew them out." Yep, she was thinking of being bait for the Egg.

Sheena was positive the Egg was just hiding somehow from her friend and was confident Ammy would be able to find it. And even if the thing didn't take the bait, at least they tried.

With a snort of displeasure, she huffed and nodded, stepping back. Should she go behind a tree or would Sheena be walking a little further that way? Maybe she should dive under that snowbank.

The young ninja returned the nod before looking around a moment. The idea of luring the Egg out into the open was an appealing one, but Sheena's ninja mind couldn't help but think about blending in. And with all the white around them--
"Hey, Ammy," she began, looking back at the wolf. "Feel like playing hide and seek?"

-- oooh. Her tail began to wag. That should be enough of a signal.

"Okay, then! Let's pick a spot for you!" She said, her eyes seeming to wander over to a nearby snowbank on their own.

And get away from the relentless sun and heat of Death City.
"Can you see?" Sheena asked, using a little snow to disguise the visible part of her friend without covering her completely.

"Keep an eye on me, Ammy." Sheena stood and moved off into her friend's line of vision, trying to think of a way to bring out a Kishin Egg. A few things occurred to her, and she decided to start with the simplest: Movement.
So, then and there, she began running through her training regimen because who could miss a mass of purple and pink moving against the white snow?

Got it. Amaterasu's eyes never left Sheena as she moved, capable of following the purple and pink streak of the woman's clothes as she zipped around. The wolf opened her nose and tuned her ears, but she wasn't picking up any changes.
Maybe they should give a few more passes, but this was strange. Were the Kishin eggs lax or had they moved elsewhere without their intelligence knowing?

But nothing happened.
Confused, she glanced back towards Ammy and shrugged, holding up a finger with her brows raised in question: One more time?

With enough noise to attract them, that is.
Giving up on being sneaky, Sheena bent down and made a snowball, then looked in her partner's direction. "Ready or not, Ammy, here it comes!" And one snowball went hurtling towards the wolf's hiding place.

She looked in Sheena's direction and huffed. Her paws batted around some snow until it became a ball. If she wanted to play that way... she began running, rolling the snowball and making it become progressively bigger. Oh yes, she was going to get Sheena good.

The ninja wasn't the least bit surprised that her friend could make a snowball; she was startled that she was making it so big. Dropping her own smaller weapon, she began backing up slowly, laughing the entire time.
"Uhh, Ammy, don't you think that's a little big?"

Wrong.
As soon as the ninja saw that grin, she knew what was going to happen. Still, she couldn't help laughing, even aiming a snowball behind the the larger one in a token display of defense before turning and running. Which she knew was hopeless considering how fast it was already moving.
So, she suddenly stopped and turned, and with what could only be called a wolfish grin of her own, stood with her arms to the side in the traditional "I'm a target" stance and waited.

White ears came out first and soon, her head popped out, finding the snow still settling on the ground. She turned left and right, wondering where Sheena had gone.
I should stop doing tags on my phone... a few words are missing up there. *sigh*
Somehow, Sheena had wound up behind the wolf, and was rising slowly out from beneath the white powder, rubbing her head. Still, that didn't stop her from picking up a handful of loose snow and tossing at her friend with a laugh.
"Right behind you!"
Haha, I must have filled them in
:D
There really was no such thing as failure when a person had friends, was there?
