BREW's at it again. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 5th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.

Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 6th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.

The sun is laughing high in the sky as temperatures soar to 110 degrees F. The air wobbles in the distance, and many citizens are drinking plenty of iced tea and lemonade to cool down. One group of children has popped open a fire hydrant and are playing in the spraying water before the police arrive to give them trouble.

No doubt the new arrivals are confused... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we? But not too warm- stay hydrated and cool, everyone!

And new guys? Welcome to the desert.

And sure, I protect people back home. Nothing weird 'bout that, right? If people aren't strong to fight for themselves, someone else's gotta do it.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it, and I'm not saying that it's weird or anything, it's just...feh. I could do a hell of a lot better than just "protecting" people. You know, protecting people and making bloodbaths, that sounds super awesome, right?

Are you kidding me?! Sure, I can get you sometimes have to beat up the bad guys good before you can be done with 'em, but it's not like you should intend to make a bloodbath, that shit's just gross!

...what, can't a girl have a little bit of fun, sometimes? Sure, it'd be nice to get away scotch free and without a bruise, but it's no fun if the other party isn't all fucked up to begin with. I mean, that sort of shit is pretty fun, once you think about it.

See, that's what I don't get! Sure, there's some fun in fighting if you're just sparring or whatever, but a fight to the death isn't exactly what I'd call "fun" or some shit like that.

Oh come on, hasn't there ever been someone you ever wanted to beat the shit out of and just watch them writhe on the floor as you stand over their triumphant body? And hell, you don't have to kill them, you can just leave them a bloody pulp on the floor, that sounds better.

Sure, doesn't everyone think so sometimes? [ Not everyone is stuck in your magical bara men world, Josuke, but okay... ]

It's just that I wouldn't just do it to someone random, even if they're an asshole to me I might punch 'em and leave it as that.. I'm not gonna beat up someone unless they've done harm to people.

[She's grinning sadistically, nudging Josuke in the side.] So. Did you ever kill someone before because they've done harm to people? Just a little bit of curiosity- you look like you can't kill.

[ Man.. he's so not sure what to think about this girl. She seems crazy, but on the other hand, it's like there's something mroe to it.. and Josuke's always the type who wants to find the hidden good in people, so he guesses he just has to hang in there to get past the crazy. ]

Nah, I haven't. [ A little more serious. ] I just made sure they wouldn't ever hurt anyone again, that's all.

[Good luck, Josuke, it's going to take a while to actually get down to the bare meat of it all with Minatsuki. Either way, she does drop her tone a little bit, hands going on her hips as she thinks about what he said.]

...you sound like some kid who I used to know. Never wanted to kill- always beat the shit out of someone until they were practically crippled. 's that what you did?

I guess.. there was that one time when I beat a guy into a hospital and then healed him to get him to help me out later. [ Josuke's so great at making himself sound super skeevy and awful out of context.. ]

That's what happened with most of 'em, just ended up in there, although I also put one guy inside a rock since he.. [ he pauses for a moment, it's still not something he likes to remember, but at least he doesn't particularly mind telling Minatsuki. ] .. he killed my mom's old man.

[...hold on, did she just hear that right? It takes her a while to actually adjust to everything that he just said, but...he just said he healed a guy after beating him up? And beat a guy into a rock?! ...well, okay, she could see the justification behind it all, but...]

...so, hold on. [She's scratching her head in confusion, but she is slightly impressed by how Josuke handled some situations.] ...did you say you punched a fucking guy into a rock? How the hell did you manage that, you have some sort of supernatural powers or something?

Oh, yeah, I did that with my Stand.

[ He figures it's okay to tell people here since THIS PLACE IS WEIRD AS SHIT. Stands are normal compared to even the sun and moon here.. ]

I can repair shit with it, so I punched him right against the rock and then repaired the rock that way so he was stuck inside it. I heard a lot of dogs piss there now.

[...oh, so he's from some world where things are strange as shit too. She's never heard of Stands before, so it must be something only known to his world. Still, she seems to be cocking her head, staring at him curiously.]

...damn, that's actually sort of brutal. And here I thought you weren't into that kind of shit...actually, I think that shit is worse then death. You know,t the dog piss portion of it.
