[OPEN] June 2013 Introduction Log

Characters: Volunteers, Newcomers and OPEN for mingling!
Location: All Around Death City
Rating: Varies
Time: June 6th, All Day
Description: Welcome to Death City!

BREW's at it again. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 5th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.

Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 6th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.

The sun is laughing high in the sky as temperatures soar to 110 degrees F. The air wobbles in the distance, and many citizens are drinking plenty of iced tea and lemonade to cool down. One group of children has popped open a fire hydrant and are playing in the spraying water before the police arrive to give them trouble.

No doubt the new arrivals are confused... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we? But not too warm- stay hydrated and cool, everyone!

And new guys? Welcome to the desert.

[ooc: Newcomers! Simply tag in to any or all of the sections here and volunteers will pop right up to greet you ASAP! The last section is completely OPEN for newcomers, volunteers, or Guests all ready in Death City who want to come up and say hello. Have fun!]

No buts. ):B

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-04 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, no problem. I was hoping someone had showed up that was pretty tolerable. Hey, so, did you get a place in Casual Communal yet?
lumigenitor: (8)

But worrying. Not okay.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-04 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. [ Again, though this time for the compliment. ] I was able to choose a temporary residence, yes. On the top floor. [ For hopefully obvious reasons. ]
redregrets: (what?)

Worrying is what he does.

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-04 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good. Did you want me to help you get settled and everything? We could go pick up some stuff, even if you're not planning on staying there for too long.
lumigenitor: (12)

Better than not worrying I suppose

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-04 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I would welcome the help, yes. I do not exactly have everything I need to survive for very long, even temporarily. So supplies would be welcome. [ ie: Lead the way; She's new here. ]
redregrets: (LOOK NOOKSNIFFER)

This is true. And yet, he still ends up in awful situations no matter how much he frets.

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-04 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, what stuff are you looking to find? I mean, there's the basics obviously, food and water, and you'll probably want some blankets and shit for your bed, since we don't have sopor here, or at least not yet. It's in the works, apparently. And uh, kitchen stuff probably, to cook with. We'll start with that stuff, before you get carried away with clothes. [Boo shopping. Oh well, he volunteered, so he's going to follow through.]
lumigenitor: (9)

If he walks away alive, that's the important part. No deadly awful.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-04 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
All of that seems particularly ideal; and you are correct that clothing can wait. I am not at all in dire need of a wardrobe just yet, though it will come in time. [ A little pause. ] Though I would not complain if we were to find a plant or two as decoration.
redregrets: (what?)

Well, on that score he's had fairly good lucky. Dying only once is pretty good for a hs character

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-10 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Alright. I guess we're going shopping then. ...Wait, a plant? You really want a plant that bad? I mean, I get it, you like plants, but you're going to put plants before food and water? Before clothes?
lumigenitor: (5)

We're not counting doomed timeline Karkats right.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-10 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for accompanying me. [ She shakes her head, though, at his words. ] I would not wish to bore you with obtaining clothes, and food and water are a priority. But I imagined finding a plant would be bearable to include in today's venture.
redregrets: (trolling)

Nope! Then we'd have to do that for everyone, and dave would have a truly impressive record

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-10 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. It's the least I could do really. Signless shopped for me and showed up with it at my god damn hive. ...It was probably a good thing he did, since I probably wouldn't have bothered doing it myself.

Sure, okay, fine. A plant. What kind do you want? The uh...flowery kind? Or a bush? Or a big ass tree? [His knowledge of plants is clearly limited.]
lumigenitor: (8)

I wonder if anyone could ever beat Aradia's total though.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-10 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I am glad that he was here to assist you upon your arrival, then. I would not wish anyone to arrive unassisted, here.

Admittedly I believe a plant with uses outside of merely growing would be ideal. As I understand it, Aloe plants have considerable use. [ Meanwhile she's learned about earth plants, alternian plants, all the plants. ]
redregrets: (LOOK NOOKSNIFFER)

This is true. I think Dave's up there, but he's no where near Aradia.

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-10 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
It wasn't like I needed the help really. I mean, I would have gotten off my ass and bought stuff eventually. But it was...helpful.

Oh. Yeah, that would be cool. You could also get a plant that makes fruit, like an apple tree or something.
lumigenitor: <user name="goldenslaughterer"> (2)

They are in competition for the worst hi-score ever.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-10 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Sooner was likely better than eventually.

I could, though such plants are notably harder to care for. However I have been told that strawberries are definitively simpler than most fruits to grow. [ ...also apples were not near the top of her favorite fruits list. ]
redregrets: (trolling)

:C Poor things. Seeing yourself die can't be fun.

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-14 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. It was. I didn't realize I'd be moving into the same hive as Dave and John so soon after I moved in, but it helped a lot when I was still in Casualty Communal.

[He blames Dave for the apple suggestion.] Strawberries huh. Aren't they kind of small plants? Could you grow them inside?

lumigenitor: (13)

Seriously not at all; worst thing.

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-14 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
A fortunate turn of events, for certain. Though I imagine it was not an easy transition, even so.

[ Striiiiderrrrrr! Of course Dave would suggest Apples. ] They can be, yes, and it would seem there are indeed many ways that they can be grown indoors; so long as they are not kept from the sun.
redregrets: (trolling)

Well, dying for good miiight be worse. It's a close call though.

[personal profile] redregrets 2013-07-17 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Considering the reason for doing that was because Dave had just been injured and John was freaking the fuck out about it, no, it wasn't an easy transition.

That wouldn't be so bad. You'd have free strawberries whenever you wanted.
lumigenitor: (5)

But if you die for good, you get dream bubbles?

[personal profile] lumigenitor 2013-07-17 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. [ A pause. ] Not at all, then.

I would, as well as strawberries to share as I saw fit.
