Description: Welcome to Death City!



BREW's at it again. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 5th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.

Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 6th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.

The sun is laughing high in the sky as temperatures soar to 110 degrees F. The air wobbles in the distance, and many citizens are drinking plenty of iced tea and lemonade to cool down. One group of children has popped open a fire hydrant and are playing in the spraying water before the police arrive to give them trouble.

No doubt the new arrivals are confused... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we? But not too warm- stay hydrated and cool, everyone!

And new guys? Welcome to the desert.

It isn't easy, really?! [ He lets out a sigh - almost exaggerated in how big it is. ] They just throw us in here and expect us to figure out everything for ourselves, man, that shit just ain't right. I guess I'll find out sooner or later though, yeah. Not like I'm gonna sit around if people are in danger.

Actually... it's really not their fault. This whole thing with all of us being brought here was basically an accident. And the new abilities are just BREW being confusing and the fact that we supposedly wouldn't be able to do anything against the Kishin eggs with our original abilities if we had them.

[ .. Huh, an accident.. from the way they said BREW pulled them here it sounded more like it was intended, so he blinks for a moment. But the last part is more confusing than that. ]

How would our powers not do anything? Mine worked just fine back home!

[Chika blinked.]

Well, I guess we don't know that for sure, but supposedly only the abilities of people who are able to turn into weapons here and the meisters wielding them can hurt Kishin Eggs. I'm not sure if it's the same for the witches, but it wouldn't surprise me.

That's weird as shit though, isn't it? [ Or so he thinks.. he's used to things being weird, sure, but at least they're usually a little more simple. ] Usually there's more ways to take care of something, not just one power.

[Chika shrugs.]

Well, technically the weapon abilities are more than one power. I mean, not everyone turns into the same two or three things, and even if two people turn into swords, the might still act completely different in battle.

... Or maybe other stuff can affect them but it's so much harder that it's not worth it?

Aaargh, thinking 'bout it is just giving me a headache!

[ He groans, grabbing his head with both hands for a moment before just quickly shaking his head as if he's trying shake off the thought entirely. ]

I'll think about all this shit later, I just want to go get something to eat soon, I'm starving. [ And thought he might have actually seemed intimidating for a moment there, he quickly goes back to his usual self. ] .. Uh.. thanks for helping me out though, I appreciate it.

Don't worry about it. Things are really confusing here. Especially when you first show up. It does get a little easier to deal with with time though.

Anyway, my name's Chika. What's yours?

Ah, it's Josuke. Good to meet you, Chika.

[ At least it's good that someone admits it's all weird here.. it makes him feel less like he's the only one who thinks everything is freaky as hell. ]

I guess we'll see each other around this place a lot, not like there's too many of us here, huh?

Yeah, we probably will. I'm always at the morning training, so we'll probably see each other there if you want to look into finding out what your weapon form is and stuff.

'course I'm gonna show up there! Not like I haven't fought before, but I've never fought with.. well, all these weird as hell powers and all. Gotta brush up! [ He grins. ]
