Takuto arrives just after 6:00 with Sasha in tow. There's been a few changes to some things, but hopefully it's nothing the Starfish Apocalypse can't overcome. Everyone just needs to get to know each other and then get to work!

[His birthday present from Yako was super nice, but really, everyone has a mouth, right? Don't tell him about cuddling with Eridan or he'll have to stalk the troll, though.]

That's nice. Things have been... pretty good lately, despite the riots. I'm a deputy zone leader for the Watch now. [And he is proud of that. Look at him beam.]

I would not have expected you to take on that level of serious responsibility. You normally seem too lighthearted for that.

[Excuse him while he pouts a little at that.] I can be serious when I need to be.

I am sure you can. I just would have have expected it to be a voluntary thing.

Being in the Watch is voluntary. It's not like I was drafted, Kaworu. I was promoted.

[And, strangely enough, he kind of likes the responsibility. Who'd have suspected Takuto is growing up?]

I suppose it just does not match up with my perception of you. But it is not a bad thing. Shinji's guardian in our world was very similar.

I'm... not sure what you mean. [With a frown he finally slides onto the bench beside Kaworu.] Are you complimenting me...?

I am. Being adaptable is one of humanity's greatest strengths, after all.

[well, if you're just gonna make yourself comfortable here, he'll just return to playing even as he speaks.]

kaworu and I have similar tastes in music. I actually know all of these songs and love them dearly

[He falls silent, listening as Kaworu's fingers float over the keys. It's kind of magical and for a moment he wishes the rest of the drama club weren't here... but that's exactly the kind of thinking he shouldn't be thinking, so.]

I miss you.

[Where those words had come from he has no idea, and even though it sounds ridiculous when he's sitting right beside Kaworu, they were still true. It probably has something to do with the music, making him feel all emotional or something.]

[for his part, he doesn't miss a single note. pale, spidery-long fingers continue to dance over the keys ever as he casts takuto a curious look.]

[He sighs. It's way too late to try to take his words back, and even if he tried, it'd only be a lie.]

Not really, no.

[But he's been trying to keep his distance, at least a little. He doesn't want to hurt Yako, and he doesn't want to hurt himself, either. And he might as well throw Shinji on the list of people this could potentially hurt.]

only if you wanna see 106 minutes of homosexuality followed by despair and exploding heads

...You are speaking to me like normal, and you seemed to decide against that rule of no touching. This is already more than I had for most of my life in my own world, so perhaps I just do not know what I am missing.

[In some way, it sounds just like Kaworu just asked him to show him all that he's missing out on. Takuto awkwardly sidles away just a little, for safety's sake.]

I guess if it's all the same to you, then that's okay.

[Obviously Kaworu is near the top of the list of People Takuto Doesn't Want To Hurt. So if Kaworu doesn't think anything is off, then perhaps Takuto is finally doing something right.]

I've been meaning to thank you, by the way, for the other day. When Yako was missing.

[the song coming to its conclusion, he turns a gentle smile on takuto.]

[His blush darkens and he really tries to not look at Kaworu. That's kind of impossible when he's saying these things, though.]

That... that means a lot to me.

[Takuto used to think he'd do anything for just about anyone, but he's realized that in fact there are only a few very special people that fall into that category. Kaworu's probably one of them, though.]

it's ok, i'd want to wait for 4.0 first and god knows when that will come out...

[the temptation to just launch into some bright, joyous piece is pretty intense, but there are people practicing lines and stuff and kaworu is considerate if nothing else. the piece he slips into instead doesn't really match his mood, but it's pleasant to play and not as obstructive.

the smile never slips, though, and he settles for indicating his happiness with a gentle bump of his foot against takuto's under the bench.]

[He's really doing his best to not relax comfortably against Kaworu's side. For one that might interrupt Kaworu's lovely playing, and for two that's probably not the greatest of ideas all things considered.

And then he gets that foot nudge and just... sorry, but it's time for him to do something else. He stands a little too quickly.]

...Did you want to practice some scenes?

[Takuto mostly just looks embarrassed. He hadn't meant to cause Kaworu to stop playing, but... rehearsal is what they all came here for, right? And things weren't going to get easier for anyone if he continues sitting there on the piano bench.]

Since we have someone to replace Feferi now, we can work on some of the scenes that involve Pufferfish.

[Not that Kaworu's been to any rehearsals since BREW sent Feferi home. But still. The truth is that most of the scenes that involve either Takuto or Kaworu's part need a Princess Pufferfish.]
