Takuto arrives just after 6:00 with Sasha in tow. There's been a few changes to some things, but hopefully it's nothing the Starfish Apocalypse can't overcome. Everyone just needs to get to know each other and then get to work!

"Pretty good! It's at the point where a lot of it is waiting for paint or glue to dry," Bakura smiled warmly. "Helps that a lot of it is pretty simple in terms of how many pieces they are."

Some of the painting was pretty complex, however. The cliffs were going to be the biggest challenge since it was one huge backdrop with hand holds that had to look like rock, and then attach to the angled stage that the actors could move away from for the fight scenes.

He was looking into something that would allow him to turn it while the actors were still on it~

"It looks fantastic." Ryou was the obvious choice for getting these things done, but it was still nice to see that they had such a talented person for making the props and set.

"You're keeping a record of costs and such, right? After the premier we'll hopefully have enough to reimburse everyone." Hopefully. And hopefully the club will have enough money to have a pizza wrap party, too.

"Aaa-- mostly, un! Some things I already had around or got easily, so I didn't worry about that. Just the things like all the paint, wood and the foam and things like that."

Because his supplies only covered miniatures, not full sized cliff faces!

[tauborn]

"You know, if you already had the things lying around, it'd be okay to just estimate the cost even if you don't remember it." Starfish Apocalypse wasn't a large corporation after all. But on the other hand, there was a kind of friendly, feel-good aspect to Ryou putting more than just hard work into it. Still, fair was fair so Takuto wanted to make sure Ryou knew that.

He shrugged, eyeing the things that Ryou had set out to dry. "I can't wait to test out some of the props and stage devices." Especially the climbing wall. It just... looked so fun.

Bakura grinned. "Going to want you to test them out pretty soon, especially the wall before it gets the foam on it. Want to make sure you can climb it okay before adding things to hide the holds!"

[tauborn]

"Just let me know when!" Putting the finishing touches on the fight scenes would be easy once Ryou was finished with the sets. And it was going to be tons of fun figuring out the climbing and the rest. "The wall's going to be the best part, I think.

Did you figure out what to do with the scene on the ship? I've got some ideas if you need help, since the last play I was in had a ship in it, too."

"Mostly I was thinking just a front on an elevated stage, with a mast and the like," Bakura explained. "Since that was what looked best on the minis. What did you guys do with yours?"

[tauborn]

Takuto nods. "That's actually exactly what we did. It was basically a platform on wheels so we could roll it on and off stage."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura grinned. "The trick is going to be getting the wheels so that it can be pushed while you're on it, but won't slide around."

[tauborn]

Takuto shook his head. "It just needs a brake on it."

[shiromadoushi]

"Like desk chairs have? Will that hold for something that big?"

[tauborn]

"I think something that big is harder to get moving than it is to keep it still. Our stage is level so I don't imagine our ship will just roll all over the place. Honestly, if we have someone available to put in a wedge or two to block the wheels, then we don't even need actual brakes."

[shiromadoushi]

"Aaa-- true! Or even just put blocks up where we want it to stop, then we'd only need one to keep it from moving back too far!"

[tauborn]

"Exactly." He grins. "And if you need any more help figuring out how things can work, Sugata has more experience than I do."

[shiromadoushi]

"Got it! Is he going to be on crew or acting? Or both?"

[tauborn]

"He's the most talented actor I've ever seen."

Sugata could fool just about anyone.

[shiromadoushi]

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeh, really?"

[tauborn]

Saying something along the lines of "he could even make his best friends believe he's betrayed them" was probably not the best way to go about explaining Sugata's talents, so he'll settle for something else.

"Yep. He became really popular in middle school after doing a one act or something. I wish I'd gotten to see it."

[shiromadoushi]

Probably not, yeah.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeh, amazing! So he's sort of a pro in the making, huh?"

[tauborn]

"Perhaps." He's pretty sure Sugata never actually considered life beyond the island, but he really could see his best friend being a famous actor in a big city somewhere. Especially if he married Wako and she became a famous idol. "But the rest of us might be the same, right? Pros in the making?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Aaa-- maybe you and the others, but..." Bakura rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

[tauborn]

"You, too, of course." And then he remembers something.

"Speaking of which, I was wondering if I could get you to play another role. We still need someone for Miracle Max--it's only one short scene and I think you'd be perfect."

Mizuno will probably play Miracle Max's wife. See what I did there?

[shiromadoushi]

"Eh? The old miracle worker man?" Bakura blinked. He had to still make that set.... "Un... I could do that... it's only like... 10 lines or so, right?"

[tauborn]

Takuto nods. "Well, more like 25, but most of the lines are very short and should be really easy to memorize." There are really only one or two key points that he has to get right, though. "I'm sure you can do it."

[shiromadoushi]

"Aaa--- if you're sure...." Bakura rubbed the back of his neck. He was a touch nervous at playing a real part, to be honest... Voicing minis and actually acting in front of people were totally different things! But... if Takuto thought he could do it...
