Even with all of the buzz and the excitement, Valentine's Day was just another day, wasn't it? That meant that people got up, people trained, and people went to work, especially if they happened to be employed with DOGS and the Watch.

Of course, Death City had a way of making things stop being normal pretty quickly...

It's because I'm invested in her safety that I'm asking. Until I know I'm not at risk of harming anyone else.. I've seen the long-term effects the Witches have had on Lain.

It's likely. Myself and Hanabi-san have joined, and she's accustomed to similar work, as are all shinobi that protect their village.

She.. doesn't like to feel like a burden to anyone, and although our residence is well taken care of, I'm sure she'll want to do something.

I'm not interested. Even if her feelings extended past surface interest, there are far too many differences.

Well, if you say so. I think you could have afford to be more gentle with her, though.

[Yep that's a legit snort] I attempted every version of subtle during the invasion in an attempt to focus her attention properly and maintain our resonance. I don't believe anything less would have been effective.
