[Event Log] The War at Home - Ambush!!
Characters: OPEN to those staying home during Mission #202
Location: Residential Districts in Death City: Casualty Communal, Death City Heights, the apartments for rent and Fatality Condominiums
Rating: Varies
Time: May 29th, Noon
Description: An attack on our homes! Drive them out!
They'd been waiting for this.
They gathered around the residential buildings, taking care to scout out exactly where the non-natives have been living as they suck up all the resources and act as a beacon to Witch attacks while complaining among each other about how hard the war is and other pointless nonsense.
They come armed with rags and bottles, lighters and stones, crowbars and a bad attitude.
"...Begin!" Called a voice from the gathered crowds, and the fires began as rags were lit, bottles were thrown. With the shattering of glass, the gasoline would spread and the fires would feast, burning everything it touches... including your prized possessions, if you're unlucky.
Others, local thugs one would see if they walked the streets at 3 AM and peered into many of Death City's labyrinthine alleys, saw fit to shoulder-ram the doors into the building foyers, looking to take the destruction to the inside of the building, the apartment staircases, the higher floors. It looks like this particular strike was planned ahead...

He doesn't even wince as he pushes the rioter away, ever so gently so he can nurse his broken arm on the ground.]
Should I be doing something useful?
no subject
[Barely two sentences into a conversation(?) and Gray's already annoyed with Sai.]
no subject
[He gives a nearby rioter a placid look before he takes a step, digging his toe into the broken arm of the guy on the ground.]
Isn't it enough that they're not attacking? Now you want them rounded up too?
no subject
[He eyes Sai suspiciously, frowning at the harsh treatment of the man with the broken arm. Rude, Sai.]
Stop it. He's not fighting anymore.
no subject
[He tilts his head to smile at the rioters, who do look like they still want to attack...but none of them really wants to be the first to do it.
He nudges the guy on the ground in the arm, which earns him a pained groan.]
no subject
[Whoops, Sai's got him there. But still, even though Gray's probably highly biased in light of their last encounter, he gets the feeling that Sai's not here for altogether altruistic reasons.]
Whatever. And stop that already. [Indicating the man on the ground. Turning around, Gray moves away to keep an eye on the hesitant rioters for signs of further attack.]
no subject
Why should I?
[Probably because the guy is already down for the count, Sai. The rioters are shifting their grips on their weapons though, just in case this would turn into an argument and they could use that as a diversion to attack again.
They had the benefit of numbers on their side. But...was it really normal to be able to so easily break someone's arm? And to look so cheerful and unbothered while doing it? (Sai would tell them that it wasn't really that hard once you had a rudimentary knowledge of joints and the ways they weren't supposed to go. He couldn't really explain the cheerfulness though. He was just in a good mood.)]
no subject
Because he's not fighting! It's one thing to beat up a guy, it's another to keep kicking him when he's down. You never learned common decency or something?
[He swings his head towards the uneasy rioters again, though his eyes keep flicking distractedly back to Sai. It's really troublesome having to keep an eye on two things at once like this.]
no subject
I'm not kicking him though.
[But his tone implies that if he wanted to start kicking the guy that he wouldn't let Gray stop him.
One of the rioters in the back takes advantage of Gray's distraction to throw a chunk of a brick at him.]
no subject
[Aaand here's where things are starting to go south. Gray turns his glare on the rioters now, who are starting to get restless with someone throwing the first strike.]
Alright, which one of you bastards threw that?!
[Sorry Sai, you're getting ignored now that the rioters are doing what they came to do in earnest.]
no subject
Looks like it's coming from the back to me.
no subject
[Luckily Gray has a hard head, though the debris flying through the air is very irritating as he rushes over to the instigators. Man, it'd be easier if Sai was with the rioters, then he could get away with trying to get Sai arrested. But unfortunately, Sai is only being generally annoying and not!useful at all.]
no subject
Who said I wasn't helping?
[Besides, no one tells him what to do. He's staying. Sai follows behind Gray as he runs through the rioters, looking very interested to see what Gray is going to do next.]
no subject
[And whoops, Gray might have accidentally ducked in a way that a flying brick is on a trajectory to hit Sai.
Most of the rioters aren't particularly skilled, so they go down with a good hard punch to the face. For others, pointing his transformed arm at them keeps their distance away from Gray. It's all mostly just to buy time for the police to move in.]
no subject
I'm not hiding. I'm following you.
[Grabbing the arm of someone swinging a bat at him, Sai pushes him so that he stumbles in Gray's direction.]
no subject
[Out of the corner of his eye, he spots the guy tripping towards him chaotically and brings his Weapon arm to block the bat with a clang, though the resulting impact sends shudders down the length of his arm.
Finally, there's the sound of sirens nearby.]
no subject
[Okay, that was actually kind of fun. Sai looks around for someone else to throw in Gray's direction.]
no subject
No thanks to you. What the hell are you trying to get out of this?
no subject
Fun.
[Duh.
The police are kind of ruining it for him though.]
no subject
Fun? How's any of this fun?
no subject
[And that feeling of not having to worry about consequences was pretty fun too.]
no subject
[The thought of leaving himself hasn't crossed his mind.]
no subject
[Especially not when Gray has told him to.]
no subject
[Aaahh, why do the weird types always hang around him?]
no subject
[He tilts his head and smiles at Gray.]
